• Account information, if a user creates an account — such as email address, display name, and saved or favorited properties.
• Usage data, such as pages visited, searches run, and filters used, collected via standard analytics.
• No payment information is collected by Kanchen directly. We do not process bookings or payments.

Kanchen displays publicly available information about homestays sourced via the Google Places API, including review author names and photos as provided by Google, and Google Maps location data. This third-party content is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, incorporated into this policy by reference.

• To operate and improve the guide.
• To respond to inquiries — for example, "List your homestay" submissions.
• To communicate with account holders about their account — for example, email confirmation and password recovery.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties except as needed to run the service (for example, our email delivery and hosting providers).

Account and inquiry data is retained as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law. If you delete your account, associated personal data is removed on a routine schedule, except where retention is required for legal or fraud-prevention reasons.

Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data by contacting hello@kanchen.ai. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.

Kanchen uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies that are required for the site to work (for example, keeping you signed in) and to measure aggregate usage so we can improve the guide. We do not currently show a cookie consent banner. If we add one in the future, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

Kanchen is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction) and does not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, please write to us and we will remove it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the current version.
