Terms of Use.

Kanchen is an independent, AI-assisted index and ranking of homestays across Darjeeling and Kalimpong. Rankings, scores, and pillar summaries are generated by reading publicly available guest reviews (primarily via Google) and are Kanchen's own editorial assessment — not a guarantee of quality, safety, accuracy, or availability.

Scores update periodically and may contain errors. Kanchen does not independently verify listed information (contact details, amenities, pricing, or claims made by property owners) unless explicitly marked as "human verified." See the Methodology page for how scoring works.

Kanchen does not process bookings, payments, or reservations. Any arrangement made between a user and a listed homestay is strictly between those parties. Kanchen is not a party to, and is not liable for, any dispute, loss, injury, or damage arising from a stay, booking, or interaction with a listed property.

Rank is determined solely by the scoring methodology described on the Methodology page. No payment, partnership, advertising, or business relationship with Kanchen affects a property's rank. Money never moves a rank.

A property owner who believes their listing, score, or review summary is inaccurate may contact Kanchen at hello@kanchen.ai to request a correction or review. We review owner corrections and refresh scores continuously; the exact turnaround depends on the nature of the request.

Kanchen displays information (including reviews, ratings, photos, and location data) sourced via the Google Places API and Google Maps. Use of this data is governed by Google's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy, both incorporated into these Terms by reference. Google does not verify user reviews and is not responsible for their accuracy.

The Kanchen name, scoring methodology, and site design are the property of Kanchen. Property names, photos, and review content remain the property of their respective owners and authors.

Kanchen provides this service "as is" without warranties of any kind, and is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site.

Kanchen may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the current version. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
