The place is very aesthetic and very beautiful with amazing scenic beauty of the mountains and river. There is direct access to the river.... also they provide amazing tasty delicious food. They serve barbecue too.

A beautiful and peaceful stay at River Crab, Sittong! 🌿❤️ River Crab is an absolute gem in Sittong. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and wonderful hospitality. The location is perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle and spend some peaceful time surrounded by nature. The homestay is cozy, clean, and beautifully maintained, with stunning views and a very relaxing atmosphere. What truly made our stay special was the hospitality the hosts were incredibly kind, helpful, and made us feel completely at home. The food was delicious, fresh, and felt just like a home cooked meal. Waking up to the beautiful surroundings and spending quiet evenings here was an experience we’ll always remember. If you’re planning a trip to Sittong, I would highly recommend River Crab. It’s not just a place to stay it’s a place where you can slow down, reconnect with nature, and create beautiful memories. ⭐ 1/5 — DO NOT BOOK IF YOU VALUE BASIC HOSPITALITY & HONESTY We were a group of 15 and booked the entire Crab Riverstay (5 rooms) because some of us had stayed here in 2022 and had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, whatever this property once was, it certainly isn’t anymore. We informed the owner well in advance that we would be having desi chicken and mutton for two consecutive days. We were told to purchase the raw meat ourselves from Lower Sitting, which we did. The problems started immediately. ❌ Poorly maintained rooms: The rooms were dirty, had spiders and a foul odour. The basin and shower taps were faulty, and the bathrooms became completely waterlogged after use. ❌ Terrible food quality: Lunch was tasteless and nowhere near what we had experienced in 2022. The fish pieces served were tiny and broken. At dinner, things became much worse — the desi chicken curry was spoiled and tasted sour. When we complained, the cook admitted, “When I was washing the chicken, it smelled bad.” If they knew the chicken smelled bad, why was it cooked and served to 15 people without informing us? ❌ ₹3,400 worth of mutton wasted because of their negligence: We brought 4 kg of mutton (₹3,400) and handed it over to them for refrigeration. Their fridge wasn’t working, but they never bothered to tell us. Naturally, the meat was spoiled. When we asked to see it, we were initially assured that it was fine. Only after insisting did they bring it out — still tightly sealed in the same black plastic bag from the market and giving off a foul smell. Despite this, the owner refused to take any responsibility for the loss. ❌ Last-minute checkout drama: Before booking, we specifically told them we wanted lunch on the checkout day and were happy to pay extra. We were assured that checkout could be extended from 10 AM to 2 PM, and we planned our travel accordingly. Then, on the very last night, we were suddenly told we had to leave by 10 AM because their car wouldn’t operate later. We arranged our own car — only to then be told that new guests were arriving in the morning. The most frustrating part? They apparently knew about these new guests beforehand but still accepted our booking and confirmed a 2 PM checkout. We were informed only at the last minute, leaving a group of 15 people to rearrange their entire travel plans. This wasn’t just bad service — it was a complete lack of transparency, accountability and basic professionalism. The old reviews may paint a very different picture, but our recent experience was absolutely terrible. The property is poorly maintained, the food quality has deteriorated, communication is extremely unprofessional, and when something goes wrong, don’t expect the management to take responsibility. Save yourself the trouble, the money and the frustration. There are plenty of better places to stay. I would NOT recommend Crab Riverstay to anyone.

Stayed here recently and the best part of this homestay is definitely the location. The river is just beside the property and the view is beautiful. The water is very clean with a nice greenish color, and river swimming was an amazing experience. Jogighat Bridge is only around 800 meters away, where you can explore small local shops, street foods, and take great photos. You can also do a small jungle trail to explore Lepcha Falls nearby. It’s a short and easy route, so honestly no need to take a guide because they usually charge around ₹500 for it. The rooms were decent, but there were some maintenance issues. In a few rooms, the geyser was not working properly and some bathroom equipment was broken. The homestay food was average — not bad, but nothing special. Overall, a great place for nature lovers, river views, and peaceful vibes, but the room maintenance could definitely be improved.

Staying here was truly an unforgettable experience. The natural spring that turns into a refreshing swimming pool during summer was absolutely amazing and one of the highlights of the trip. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and breathtaking scenic views, the place feels peaceful and close to nature. The hospitality of the homestay owner was warm and welcoming, making us feel completely at home throughout our stay. The food was delicious, especially the barbeque chicken, which was simply outstanding and added so much to the overall experience. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway with natural beauty, great food, and genuine hospitality, this place is highly recommended. A memory we will cherish forever.

We had a absolutely amazing stay here. It's exactly like another home. They provide clean rooms and authentic home-cooked food which is delicious.The river is just in front of this you can feel private riverside experience. Love the place from heart ❤️ We will visit again ❤️
