Had such a great weekend getaway here with the family! Super peaceful spot, surrounded by beautiful greenery. Rooms were clean and roomy, food was delicious, and the staff really went above and beyond. Loved the little farewell touch with the khada — such a sweet gesture. The homestay owner even popped by to make sure we had everything we needed. Bonus: there’s a tea factory right nearby, so we got to try fresh tea grown on site and even bought some to take home. Great place to visit…

​If your goal is to stay in Sittong 3 (Ahaldara), most travelers recommend booking based on the following features commonly found in that area: ​Views: Look for properties that advertise "Kanchenjunga view" and "Orange garden view". ​Inclusions: Almost all homestays in this region operate on a per-person, per-day rate that includes all meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks, and Dinner). ​Best Time: The orange season (winter) and spring (March–April) are the most popular times to visit for clear mountain views and blooming orchards.

Good experience & family like hospitality

Place is very peaceful. You'll wake up to chirping and cooing of different birds. But the service of the homestay needs lot of improvement. Rooms are not clean. Infested with insects. Bathroom was clean though.. Food quality is so-so. If improvements are done, I guarantee more tourists will visit.

I recently stayed at Gurung Homestay in Upper Sittong. The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking scenic views that are truly unforgettable. The peaceful surroundings and natural beauty make it a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. However, the service quality needs significant improvement. During my stay, I encountered a large number of insects and centipedes, especially around the bathroom and bedroom areas. For this reason, I would not recommend visiting during the monsoon season, as the insect problem can become quite severe. The food quality was average and did not meet my expectations. While the homestay offers an amazing setting and beautiful views, better cleanliness, pest control, and improved service would greatly enhance the overall experience. Overall, I would rate the place highly for its location and scenery, but the management should focus on improving service standards, hygiene, and food quality.

Very nice experience and a great getaway from city life. Tea garden is sceneic and luckily was able to see kanchenjunga from bed itself. Perfect for weekend trip.
