I am a solo traveller and was fortunate to discover Topgyel Homestay in Sonada. I hadn't planned on staying for long, but I eventually ended up spending more than two wonderful weeks there.
The hosts, Prem and his wife, Lakhpa Dolma, are warm, friendly, and welcoming people. They live on the farm with their children, making it feel like a true family home.
Dolma looks after the kitchen and is an excellent cook. She prepared several delicious local dishes that made every meal something to look forward to.
The farm is peaceful and beautifully located. They even have a small monastery on the property where you can spend some quiet time in reflection or meditation. I also enjoyed walking through the nearby Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary, which was a lovely experience in itself.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire family for their kindness and hospitality. I truly look forward to visiting them again.
We had a pleasant experience. The host and family made me feel like a queen. Their hospitality and inclusion was par excellence. I just didn’t want to return home after 4 days stay. The view from the home was very picturesque and absolutely NO pollution. All food was made from the vegetables grown in their farm. The hosts are very industrious at the same time very caring. She made very healthy and yummy food. Always ready to serve.
When we stayed it was Tibetan new year LOSAR, we were included as part of the family and rituals . Had a very spiritual time with the Lama who was presiding over the new year cleansing and welcoming new year rituals.
Host Mrs Lakpa gave her traditional dress BAKHU to be wore at the rituals time , very generous of her.
Best holiday we ever had.
Prem da(owner)& didi(his wife) are 2 loveliest people I had seen, through out the stay they make us feel like we're in a relatives house

Great hospitality great ambiance overall a great experience, prem da(owner) and his wife r so lovely people, we really got an experience like a relative's home and not like a paying guest... Highly recommended
