Excellent location in lap of nature, neat and clean, staff behaviour is very good, hospitality is excellent. One has to go upstair like other homestay at Icchegaon, it may be a problem for aged person. There is no geyser in bathroom, but they are supplying more than sufficient hot water in bucket on demand without any extra charge. I stayed from 18.05.2026 to 19.05.2026. Anybody who stays at Icchegaon, may stay at this homestay.

A much-needed vacation took me to Icche Gaon this year for a brief stay between end-September to October beginning. For a traveler, Khambu homestay offers a warm welcome, great hospitality and care and good facilities (neat & clean rooms, hot water, fantastic home cooked meals). The view around is breathtakingly beautiful, so if you are looking for a place to rest amidst calm and quiet, enjoy natural beauty and breathe in clean air - this is the place to be. The household of Khambu homestay comprises of Mr. Subash Rai and his lovely family members including the elders of the family, all the siblings and their spouses and a bunch of kids who make this homestay a second home for any traveler. Apart from enjoying the comfort of the homestay, the owner can also help you with arranging transport and guidance for local sight-seeing. I have already recommended this place to my friends and family and would recommend it to anyone else as well. However, as a tourist, two things one should not forget during their stay at Icche Gaon: a) Don’t forget to carry an umbrella b) Remember that you are being served by members in the household of a regular family (just like yours and mine) who work very hard despite the rough terrain to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Food and lodging can be found anywhere, but service with warmth and care is rare. My sincere thanks to Mr. Rai and his family for making the vacation truly wonderful during my stay at Icche Gaon.

It’s a Homestay situated in a village which had only 35 houses. Flowers all around, peaceful environment, no sound pollution and great views of huge mountains. It’s a perfect gateway to peaceful weekend. It has only 11 rooms, small and cozy but home like feeling. Special mention to Subhash Bhai and Jo-Jo who were very warm and Welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious- home style cooking that truly hit the spot. The USP of this Homestay is there huge Veranda, where you can sit and spend hours chatting, reading books, have a cup of tea or even having a breakfast or Lunch. Truly unforgettable experience which will be cherished for the lifetime. A must visit for all those who can compromise Peace over Luxury.

Recently, I visited this homestay with my family. Location is very good. Staff's behaviour is very good. Geyser is not available in the bathroom but they provide hot water. Room is little small but clean. Homestay is also neat and clean. Only one suggestion is that the bathroom and toilet at the entrance should be cleaned and closed the door all time.

The location of the homestay is top notch. You can even view the Kanchenjunga from the balcony of the homestay on a clear day. Unfortunately, it was all cloudy and foggy during our stay for which we couldn't enjoy the view. But even watching the fog was quite enjoyable too. Their service and hospitality is great too. Plus, they keep novels for tourists to read (many bengali novels too cause bengalis go there the most). The rooms are beautiful too, the only negative thing I'd say is the road to reach the homestay. The last 1.4km car ride to the place was bumpy as the road hasn't been made till now. After that, we had to walk for 7-8 minutes and there were quite a few number of stairs. But they'd send someone to carry your luggage, so you won't have to carry them yourself. But after reaching the homestay, you won't have to worry about a thing anymore. The location is at the top, which would give you every reason to have a terrific view from there. Plus point- they also have a beautiful garden 🌸

Spent two beautiful days here..Got a warm welcome from the owner Mr.Subhash, they are very warm, kind hearted, and sweet. Everything we asked for they gave it to us without bothering. The view is just awesome from every room, but the view from the upstairs is more delightful. They decorated the homestay with hundreds of plants which increases the beauty of the place. The village is very peaceful. If you want to spend some peaceful days away from the city life it is the place.
