Ghumaun Kalimpong

We visited Kalimpong-Darjeeling mid March 2026 and were put in touch with Mr Bibek Rai upon enquiring about transport operators. We requested for 2 Innova cars with drivers who would stay with us for the entire duration of the trip, and were provided excellent cars and, skilled and reliable drivers, who knew both places very well and were very pleasant too. Mr Bibek Rai was constantly in touch with us while we were there ensuring that we received the best service possible. It was a very positive engagement overall and would highly recommend their services.

Ghumaun Kalimpong arranged the Sundakphu Trek for me, and the entire trek was magical. Mr Bivek communicated continuously to tailor-make the schedule as per my requirements. They arranged comfortable and homely stays, and my guide, Mr Sagar was a wealth of information about the local flora and fauna. I had a wonderful time, and will definitely be using their expertise for more adventures. 🙂

My name is Ekta Subba and my experience with the "Ghumaw Kalimpong" has been really really wonderful. I was the part of Cucumber Hike 2.0 and it was more than what I expected. We met Bivek and Sushil during the Melo Tea Fest. They were able to recommend various hikes around Darjeeling/Kalimpong. We took up one such recommendation and hiked to Tonglu (Nepal border). The entire journey was very enjoyable. They took us from an unorthodox route from Dhotrey (rather than Manebhanjyang); which is a much better route. Their company was also very enjoyable. Even afterwards, they helped us in arranging great homestays in Tumling and Kharkha. Both are offbeat destinations. Anyone looking for a great experience in Darjeeling/Kalimpong should contact them.

I went on a hike through a beautiful mountain village in Kalimpong, and it was an unforgettable experience. Sushil, the guide was knowledgeable about the history and community setup since he belonged to the village. He gave me an option of how I wanted to proceed with the hike in terms of the difficulty level. The hike started from the main road and he explained about the routes and the village management setup. He also showed a beautiful birds eye view of the Teesta river. The weather in the beginning of December was perfect for the hike. I was taken through a few villages and came across many beautiful village houses each having their own private nursery of plants which I lowkey wanted to steal. I came across multiple terrace farms where I saw multiple crops being grown. We passed by friendly locals, one of whom offered us tea in his house and regaled us with a story from the 80s. Another villager offered us oranges from her orchard. The hike was a mix of easy paths and slightly challenging uphill and downhill climbs, but the effort was more than worth it when we reached the house where the guide had arranged lunch for us. The guide can curate the hike as per your preferred difficulty level as there are many exit points. I walked for about 5 hours. If you're looking for a peaceful and scenic escape, the village hike with Ghumaun Kalimpong is a perfect choice. It offers a wonderful mix of nature, local culture, and adventure. The village hike, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, offers a safe and enjoyable experience for solo women travelers.
