Had an amazing experience at Mountain Paradise Homestay in Pattabong. The rooms were clean, cozy, and opened up to beautiful tea garden and mountain views. Special thanks to Megha, the lease owner, along with Suman and Susmita for taking such good care of us. They were always smiling, supportive, and made us feel like family. Would definitely love to visit again!
This Homestay provides best view, rooms and food . Just 10mins from Darjeeling main town. Till now this was the best service I have experienced in my darjeelling tour. Best Kanchanjunga view from this Homestay.
One of the best stays in Darjeeling! The view from the homestay is absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunrise. Megha, the lease owner, made us feel completely at home, and Suman & Susmita were incredibly helpful, polite, and caring throughout our stay. Their hospitality truly made the experience special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, warmth, and stunning mountain views.
If you want a peaceful stay with mesmerizing Kanchenjunga views, this is the perfect place. The hospitality here is outstanding. Megha, the lease owner, along with Suman and Susmita, went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. The food, the atmosphere, and the scenic beauty were all top-notch. Truly a hidden gem in Pattabong, Darjeeling.
Worst room ever. Service is soo bad. Owner went back on her word of giving us good room with good view. Charge is expensive and room doesn't meet the standard. No 4 person can stay here. Bathroom is distateful and under the stairs and no one can use it. Height is too short to even stand and brush the teeth. I recommend not to visit this place ever again. If you do so just keep in mind to stay out as much as possible cuz living inside it would feel like one would be staying in a chicken coop. I would want to very much show u the pictures but I don't see any way to attach it
very bad hospitality...and too many restrictions were there.. very much disappointed with the service..
Such a lovely place to stay and well-managed by its owner. Best for holiday purposes. Must visit
Spent My Honeymoon There
Very Lovely Homestay
Lovely Behaviour
Lovely bed
Lovely View
Worst experience ever , food is very bad and the behaviour of those stuff were horrible
All Good,
Specially Food and Location.
Rooms are very clean,well maintained.
I stayed at this homestay in Puttabong, Darjeeling for 3 days, and it turned out to be a very disappointing experience.
While the location is peaceful, the condition of the room was completely unacceptable. There were spider webs all over, clearly showing a lack of basic cleaning. What was even worse, I found c****m beside the bed. This is absolutely unhygienic and shocking for any kind of accommodation.
The carpet smelled extremely bad, making it uncomfortable to even stay inside the room. It felt like cleanliness and hygiene are simply not taken seriously here.
The food may look appealing, but the taste is average at best, and it was overly spicy to the point of being unpleasant.
Another important concern is safety—there is no CCTV in the staircase area, which is a basic requirement in any homestay or building.
To the owner: instead of defending such issues or blaming guests for dirty rooms, take responsibility and improve your standards. Accusing guests is not only unprofessional but also completely misleading in cases like this where the problems are clearly due to poor maintenance.
I would strongly not recommend this place until serious improvements are made in cleanliness, hygiene, and management.
Hospitality is great. Most important is peacefulness.. ❤️
Really I liked this homestay . Food is very tasty.. and very much friendly. I'll suggest to everyone to visit once.
Just Amazing experience and all other services . You can hangout near the Homestay .staff behaviour is very good good and the owner(Cloudy Megha) of Homestay she is also very much good.
Just Awesome view from homestay. Must visit.. 💙💙
Perfect offbeat destination.
The location is beautiful, and Puttabong is truly a lovely place to visit. However, our experience with this homestay named Dream stay was extremely disappointing.
The food was very poor—overly spicy and far from homely. Everyone in our group fell sick, experiencing stomach issues and vomiting throughout the stay. On the last day, just before we were leaving, the staff blamed the regular water and suggested switching to packaged water. However, I have traveled to offbeat areas of North Bengal many times and have never faced such issues.
Cleanliness was another major concern. The rooms were not properly maintained, with visible spider webs and insects, making the stay quite uncomfortable.
What was most upsetting was the unprofessional behavior of the staff. We were accompanied by a friend of the owner who acted as our guide. During the trip, there was an incident where he vomited, and instead of handling it responsibly, they blamed us without any proof. When we requested CCTV footage for clarification, they were unable to provide any evidence but still continued to accuse us. The staff also misbehaved with us without proper verification.
Overall, while Puttabong is a great destination, this homestay completely ruined our experience. I have stayed in many homestays before, but I have never encountered such poor food quality, lack of cleanliness, and unprofessional behavior.
I recently stayed at Dream Stay Homestay in Puttabong for 3 days, and unfortunately, my experience was not very pleasant.
The room quality was quite poor. There were multiple spider webs on the walls, and the carpet was not clean at all, which made the stay uncomfortable. Basic cleanliness and maintenance definitely need improvement.
The caretaker’s behavior was disappointing. They did not come across as welcoming and seemed rude most of the time, which affected the overall experience.
While WiFi was available, one positive aspect was the food—it tasted good. However, it was a bit surprising that they charged extra even for simple items like milk tea and boiled eggs.
The view was average, nothing particularly special.
One important note for future guests: avoid drinking normal water provided there, as it may cause health issues. It’s safer to go for packaged drinking water.
I have stayed at several mountain homestays in the past and have never experienced any health issues from using the provided drinking water. However, during my recent stay, on the third day, we were advised to purchase mineral water as the regular drinking water was reportedly not safe.
This information should have been communicated to us in advance, as it directly affects guests’ health and preparedness.
Suggestion to the owner: Please consider installing a CCTV camera on the staircase as well, since cameras are installed in other areas.
Overall, I would suggest improvements in cleanliness, hospitality, and transparency in pricing to make the stay better for guests.
Road to reach homestay is in worse condition
Exceptional service; the reception was quick and obliging. The room was large, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Great value for money."
