Its a hidden Jewel according to us . And that's the way we would like it to be i.e HIDDEN. The owner and her daughter are such great souls. So friendly and helpful at all times . The food is amazing home cooked and classily served . The two Dogies are as friendly and playful . If you love dogs and cats , this place may be a bliss for you . Birds chirping since dawn , fresh air , neat , clean unhurried way of life and all this is a lap of comfort and luxury. The owners and their helps serve so much food and snacks so lovingly that one tends to over eat and drink darjeeling tea. Bungkulung was a discovery by chance by my sister Prof. Ruma but the Bungkulung Retreat Eco Huts was the crown jewel . We sincerely thank the Owner and her daughter and the household helps from the bottom of our heart for giving us such a memorable vacation at their place . May God Bless the family and the place .

Absolutely loved the environment of the place and the cottages are well designed, surrounded by greenery all around. I found the property very unique apart from other traditional homestays in and around hills.. highly recommended!

“A home away from home — and I mean that literally! 🌿 Full disclosure — this is my sister’s homestay, but I’m leaving this review purely because the experience genuinely deserved it. Spent three wonderful days at Bungkulung Retreat Eco Huts and honestly, I’d recommend it to anyone even if I had no personal connection. The property is absolutely charming — winding garden paths lined with lush greenery, vintage street lamps, banana trees, and a peaceful atmosphere that just melts your stress away. The rustic wooden cottages with stone foundations feel warm, character-filled and beautifully maintained. My personal highlight was staying in the Camelia room — the top floor room with gorgeous windows that open up to fresh mountain air and green views. Waking up there every morning felt like a dream. The natural light, the breeze, the quiet — it was perfect. Three days felt too short honestly. If you’re looking for a genuine eco retreat near Dudhia with soul and character, Bungkulung is the real deal. Will definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”**

“A peaceful escape surrounded by nature! 🌿 Spent a wonderful week at Bungkulung Retreat Eco Huts and it was truly rejuvenating. The lush garden pathways lined with hedges, banana trees, and vintage lamp posts create such a charming, storybook atmosphere. The cottage itself has a beautiful rustic character — classic wooden siding, stone foundation, and old-style casement windows that open up to fresh mountain air. It felt cozy and authentic, far from the usual hotel experience. The location near Dudhia is incredibly serene — perfect for anyone looking to unwind away from city noise. Highly recommend for couples, solo travelers, or anyone craving a nature retreat with a homely touch!”

I visited Bunkulung Retreat Eco Huts for one day on my way to Darjeeling. The place is serene ... food is delicious and staff very helpful. The lush greenery all around is soothing specially after the rains. The place feels like home in the middle of nowhere. Among nearby attractions are Balason River and Gaymon Bridge. Both have breath-taking views. Both are hidden gems of Darjeeling District.

Serine and calm boutique homestay. Leisurely walks to the nearby Iron bridge to hear sound of Murmah Khola, Crossing the paths through Manjusree Tea Estates to reach a wonderful Gymon Bridge over a soul smoothing river Balason is a cherry on the cake. Strongly recommend for a peaceful offbeat weekend stay ☺
