Beautiful place and excellent food. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Courteous people and professional. Ideal place for a family getaway for a staycation. Farukh, the caretaker is also excellent at his job

Had a great experience being in FORKTAIL. A must visit resort.

WORST day out experience!!!! U people don’t even deserve 1 star when it comes to professionalism. We called on the concerned number but it was an AI generated call and we were not getting any response. So we thought of just going for a day out.. even if you people don’t take the guests who come for lunch only but there is a way of saying something.. the chef came in very filthy Apron (white apron with dirty stains all over) and very rudely told us khana vana ni hoga idhar lava Jake khaiye.. is this how u speak to walk in guests?? No board or any location specificity in the area.. guests come from siliguri and this is the treatment u give us?? My wife, being a lawyer cannot tolerate such behaviour and seeing such behaviour can also let u to consumer forum if this attitude remains.. try to co ordinate with your guests.. I am also unsure of food quality as the chef was dressed really dirty.

Pool is so dirty they dont clean at all. Not at all recommended at this price range

Overall, a very pleasant stay with beautiful surroundings and comfortable rooms. The amenities and grounds are well maintained. Service at the restaurant was a bit slow during peak dinner hours, but the staff was friendly and accommodating once notified. Would happily stay here again

One of the best properties to stay at in Lava! The location is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by peaceful mountains and greenery. The property is spacious, beautifully maintained, and the private pool with the scenic views makes the experience even more special. The rooms were comfortable, the hospitality was excellent, and the entire vibe is perfect for a peaceful getaway with family or friends. If you’re planning a trip to Lava, I would definitely recommend staying here. ❤️

Attended a friend’s reunion at Forktail House, it was a wonderful experience overall. The property offers amazing views in a beautiful, peaceful location that’s perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff were warm, attentive and always ready to help. The food was absolutely delicious. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that the swimming pool was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned, even though we had requested in advance that it be ready before our arrival. Aside from that, everything else was excellent and we had a great time.

It was a wonderful weekend topped with Farukh 's excellent heart rendering hospitality..what with serving fresh salivating hot meals, snacks and running errands whenever required, we were captivated with the views of the ever changing mountains in this rainy season. ..as if a kaleidoscope was visible in front of the villa depicting a picturesque beauty.

⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5) I booked my stay at Forktail House through Izifisi for two rooms, with 100% advance payment already completed. The rooms themselves were decent—neat, clean, and comfortable. However, the swimming pool was extremely dirty and unusable, which was quite disappointing. The biggest issue was the caretaker, Farooq, whose conduct throughout our stay raised serious concerns. Before we arrived, he called and claimed that, according to their records, I had booked three rooms instead of two. I clarified that I had booked only two rooms, but he insisted their system showed three. He also confirmed that my booking had been fully paid, so I agreed to proceed based on what he was telling me. However, at the time of checkout, he suddenly demanded payment for a third room, claiming that I had actually booked only two rooms but had occupied three. This made no sense, since the third room had been allotted by him after assuring me that everything was fully paid. I had to immediately contact Izifisi, who verified that my original booking was indeed for two rooms, after which he dropped the demand. A similar issue happened with the food charges. Izifisi had informed me that the meal package cost ₹1,500 per person, but during checkout the caretaker insisted it was ₹1,700 per person. Once again, I had to call Izifisi to confirm the agreed price, and only then was the amount corrected. On top of that, we ordered one plate of Fish Fingers and one plate of Chilli Fish, for which we were charged ₹950. We were told the amount included GST, yet no proper bill or tax invoice was provided despite asking. Overall, while the rooms were satisfactory, the repeated billing discrepancies and the need to constantly verify charges with Izifisi made the experience unnecessarily stressful. My advice to future guests is to carefully verify every charge, keep all booking confirmations handy, and insist on proper bills for any additional payments.

Overall a beautiful experience. A must visit if you want a quick escape into the lap of nature. The quality of stay, ambience and food is next level. The caretaker (Faruk) was so helpful and efficient to handle all your requests at the stay.

*An Amazing Hill Station Stay in Lava* We stayed at this beautiful villa in Lava and it was absolutely worth it. Tucked right in the lap of the hills, it’s the perfect silent, scenic spot for a family getaway. *What stood out:* - *Location & views*: Stunning hill views with a swimming pool overlooking the valley. Peaceful and away from the crowds. - *Rooms*: Every room was cozy, spotless, and came with a heater – a blessing in the hills. Washrooms were super clean. - *Food & hospitality*: The food was awesome, home-style and delicious. There was an LPG shortage during our stay, yet the staff managed every meal on wood fire without any compromise. That level of commitment is rare. - *Staff*: Absolutely wonderful. Courteous, helpful, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. - *Reliability*: They didn’t cancel any bookings despite challenges – shows real professionalism. If you’re looking for a quiet family place in Lava with great food, clean cozy rooms, and staff that genuinely cares, this is it. We’ll definitely be back. Rating: 5/5

We stayed at Forktail House for 2 days and had an amazing experience. The property is absolutely beautiful, well-maintained, and offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our stay was extremely comfortable, and the kids-friendly environment made it perfect for families. The service was truly top-notch thanks to Md. Faruk. He was incredibly warm, polite, and attentive throughout our stay. His hospitality, caring nature, and willingness to help made us feel completely at home. We truly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend Forktail House for a relaxing, comfortable, and memorable getaway!
