A terrible experience; the owner's behavior is very poor.

Overall experience was good. Personally I felt that the washroom was really bad however the people were good and very sweet.

I booked rooms here and paid advance amount. Later due to unavoidable reasons I requested cancellation and refund. There was confusion regarding cancellation policy, and I faced difficulty getting refund. Communication was stressful and took long time to resolve. Overall my experience regarding refund handling was not satisfactory.

Worst feelings from Supriyo Sen and the staffs of Sukanya Homestay... আমরা অনেক জায়গায় গিয়েছি, থেকেছি। কিন্তু এত জঘন্য hospitality কোথাও পাইনি। আমাদের গালাগাল দেওয়া হয়েছে, ঘাড় ধাক্কা দিয়ে নিজের property থেকে বের করে দেওয়ার হুমকি দেওয়া হয়েছে, Lunch দেওয়া হয়নি। পাহাড়ের যে কোনো স্থানে থাকার যদি অভিজ্ঞতা থাকে এরকম situation এ guest দের অন্তত গরম জল দেওয়া হয়, এখানে সেটাও দেওয়া হয়নি। এই homestay তে কোনোদিন কাউকে recommend করব না.....

We booked Sukanya Homestay for six people, but the stay was extremely disappointing. There was no electricity or backup, leaving us in darkness, and this was never informed despite prior calls. The owner behaved rudely and abusively, and the food was basic with no flexibility for simple requests. After a disagreement, he threatened to deny stay and meals and acted in a humiliating manner. He even said we wouldn’t be allowed to leave unless we took breakfast (despite paying), which felt like illegal detainment. This is the experience of my sister who went with friends and family

গত 21.03.2026 তারিখে আমরা দুই ফ্যামিলি মোট ছয়জন এই সুকন্যা হোমস্টেতে একরাতের জন্য বুকিং করেছিলাম। গত কয়েকদিনের ঝড়বৃষ্টিতে এখানে কারেন্ট ছিল না এবং ওদের স্টাফদের কথা অনুযায়ী ব্যাকআপ ইনভার্টারেরও নাকি চার্জ শেষ হয়ে যাওয়াতে আমরা সারারাত অন্ধকারে কাটাতে বাধ্য হই। ওনাদের সলিউশন ছিল মোমবাতি। তাই সন্ধ্যায় এই হোমস্টের owner কে ফোন করে এই প্রবলেমের কথা বলাতে উনি আমাদের সাথে অত্যন্ত বাজে ব্যবহার করেন এবং আমাদের প্রতি অশালীন ভাষা প্রয়োগ করেন। অথচ আমাদের যাত্রার আগের ২৪ ঘন্টায় ওনার সাথে বেশ কয়েকবার ফোনে কথা হলেও উনি এবিষয়ে আমাদের কিছুই জানাননি যেখানে উনি এটাও জানতেন আমাদের মধ্যে দুজন মহিলা এবং দুজন ১২-১৪ বছরের দুটি বাচ্চাও রয়েছে। রাত্রে ডিনারের সময় আমরা পেলাম যারা ভাত খাবে তাদের জন্য ভাত, ডাল আর চিকেন কারি আর যারা রুটি তাদের রুটি এবং চিকেন কারি। ডালের সাথে কোন ভাজা বা সব্জি তরকারি না থাকার কারন জানতে চাইলে উনি বলেন যে ৯০০ টাকার প্যাকেজে এটাই নাকি থাকে। শুধু এখানেই শেষ নয়, আমরা যখন শুধু একটু চিকেন গ্রেভি চাইলাম আমাদের বলা হল আর নেই এবং এটাও বলা হল ৯০০ টাকার প্যাকেজে আমরা এতকিছু কেন ডিমান্ড করছি। তারপর এই নিয়ে স্টাফদের সাথে যে কথা কাটাকাটি হয়েছিল সেই খবর ওই owner এর কানে পৌঁছাতে তিনি ফোন করে বললেন আমরা নাকি গালিগালাজ করেছি এবং সেই জন্য উনি আমাদের পরেরদিন লাঞ্চ দেবেন না এবং আমাদের আর থাকতেও দেবেন না, ঘাড় ধাক্কা দিয়ে বার করে দেবেন। এই অপমানে অপমানিত হয়ে পরেরদিন আমরা যখন ব্রেকফাস্ট খেতে অস্বীকার করলাম এবং লাঞ্চের দাম না দিয়ে ব্রেকফাস্টের দাম দিয়ে চলে যেতে চাইলাম উনি বললেন ব্রেকফাস্ট না খেলে আমাদের পুরো ৯০০ টাকাই দিতে হবে, যেখানে আগেরদিন রাতে উনিই বলেছিলেন আমরা লাঞ্চের ১৫০ টাকা না দিয়ে যেন চলে যাই। প্রসঙ্গত বলে রাখি উনি বলেছিলেন অন্ধকারের সলিউশন হিসেবে আমরা মোবাইলের টর্চ কেন ব্যবহার করছিনা। যখন ওনাকে প্রশ্ন করা হয়েছিল কারেন্ট না থাকলে মোবাইলে চার্জ না থাকলে কি করব তখনও ওনার সলিউশন ছিল পাওয়ার ব্যাঙ্ক এবং সেটা না নিয়ে যাওয়া নাকি আমাদের দোষ।

আমরা ২ পরিবার গতকাল (২১.০৩.২৬) Sukanya Homestay তে থাকার উদ্দেশ্য নিয়ে গিয়েছিলাম। ঝড়বৃষ্টির কারনে বিদ্যুৎ পরিবহনে সমস্যা হচ্ছিলো। Home stay তে কোনো back up ব্যবস্থা ছিলো না, even over telephone সুপ্রিয় সেন বাবুর সাথে স্থানে পোঁছানোর পূর্বে কথা হওয়া সত্ত্বেও এই ঝড় বৃষ্টি এবং বিদ্যুৎ পরিবহনের সমস্যার কথা আমাদের জানানোও হয়নি। আমরা যখন এই সমস্যার কথা ওনাকে জানাই উনি আমাদের গালাগাল করেন। আমরা অগ্রীম জানিয়েছিলাম দুপুরের খাওয়া আমরা পরের দিন করব, এবং এই ব্যবস্থায় উনি রাজীও ছিলেন। রাতে খাওয়ার সময় (নিরামিষ) ভাত এবং ডালের সাথে আমরা কোনো প্রকার সব্জী বা ভাজা পাইনি। এটাই নাকি এখানের system..রাতে আবারও একদফা বাকবিতণ্ডার পর সুদূর কোলকাতায় বসা সুপ্রিয় সেন বাবু over telephone আমাদের ঘাড়ধাক্কা দিয়ে বের করে দেওয়ার threatning করেন। সেইসময়েই আমাদের প্রাপ্য lunch না করে ওনার property থেকে বেড়িয়ে যেতে বলেন। আমরা সমস্ত বিল full payment করে breakfast এবং lunch না করে বেড়িয়ে আসি। এরকম কদর্য hospitality কখনও কোথাও পাবেন না। সুপ্রিয় বাবুর সাথে প্রতিটা কথার call record আমাদের কাছে আছে। ভবিষ্যতের প্রয়োজনের কথা ভেবে রেখে দিয়েছি। এই চত্বরে অন্য অনেক homestay আছে। প্রয়োজনে অন্য কোথাও খোঁজ নিন....

Loved our sta y , they, made us feel like family with their warm welcome & local tips. The room was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed. A peaceful spot with great views, perfect for relaxing. Highly recommend this gem! .

An Unforgettable Stay in the Heart of the Hills! I had an amazing experience at this lovely homestay. The location is absolutely perfect — you wake up to a breathtaking view of Kanchenjunga, and every corner of the property feels peaceful and close to nature. The hosts were incredibly warm, helpful, and made me feel right at home. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-maintained, and the food was simply delicious — home-cooked, fresh, and full of local flavors. The price was very reasonable for the quality and comfort offered. It’s also ideally located for sightseeing — with several scenic spots, and viewpoints just a short drive away. This is a great spot if you enjoy stargazing. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with stunning views, great hospitality, and authentic local charm, this place is a gem. Highly recommended — I can’t wait to come back.
