Mission Valley Kalimpong

I had a wonderful stay at Mission Valley Homestay in Kalimpong, West Bengal. As a solo female traveler, safety was my top priority, and I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout my stay. The homestay was very clean, peaceful, and well-maintained. The owner was extremely helpful, courteous, and soft-spoken, while the staff were polite and always ready to assist. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, homemade, and made me feel at home. I highly recommend Mission Valley Homestay to anyone visiting Kalimpong, especially solo female travelers looking for a safe, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly Recommended Stay in Kalimpong! We had a wonderful stay at this property and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kalimpong. The location is perfect—situated in a peaceful area away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet close enough that the city center and everyday essentials are easily accessible on foot. One of the highlights of this place is the stunning view of Kalimpong. Waking up to the beautiful scenery every morning was truly refreshing and made our trip even more memorable. The food deserves a special mention. The homemade meals were absolutely delicious, fresh, and prepared with great care. Every dish felt like a home-cooked meal, which added a very personal touch to our stay. The owner is extremely kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything you may need. Their hospitality and genuine concern for guests made us feel right at home throughout our visit. Considering the quality of accommodation, food, location, and hospitality, this place offers excellent value for money and is very budget-friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again whenever we return to Kalimpong. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, peaceful, and memorable stay!

This hotel is located in a very congested area, far from most city attractions. Although they claim to have parking facilities, we were asked to park our car on the roadside. The area is so crowded that getting in and out can be quite difficult. The amenities were disappointing. Mobile networks are a problem here , no fan or air conditioning, and not even a kettle in the room. We arrived early after a long journey with kids and asked if any food could be arranged, but the staff simply refused. The elderly gentleman at the reception was particularly rude and unhelpful. Despite our initial experience, we decided to try their restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately, the food portions were extremely small—both the vegetables and chicken served were barely enough for one person. When we tried to order additional food, we were told it was not possible. The bathroom was stocked with only a single Lifebuoy soap. The only positive aspect of the stay was that the rooms were spacious and clean. Overall, our experience was very disappointing and it negatively impacted our trip. Based on our stay, the positive reviews for this property seem difficult to understand. The front rooms on the top floors have some view to offer of mountains from very far if at all weather is good . it's Not at all recommended....

Mission valley kalimpong is one of the best properties we have stayed in. The rooms are airy, spacious and sophisticated, equipped with all modern amenities. It is located at 10-12 mins uphill walk from the main Kalimpong market. The food was excellent. The staffs were courteous and polite. We can't wait to go back again! Highly recommended.

A Perfect Peaceful Retreat Mission Valley Kalimpong is a true gem. The quiet surroundings are incredibly peaceful, filled only with the gentle voices of birds. The homestay’s aesthetic decoration is beautiful and adds so much charm to the stay. What really stands out is the staff , their behaviour is truly commendable. They go out of their way to make everything smooth and hassle-free, from check-in to meals and local arrangements.If you’re looking for a serene escape with warm hospitality and lovely vibes, this is the place. Highly recommended!

We booked two rooms for one night stay in kalimpong through booking.com. Based on the past reviews we chose this hotel as it showed all the required amenities, refreshments and quality of rooms to be on top notch! But, alas... We came to know it was a personal homestay and not a hotel and they have limited stuffs to attend their guests. Check in time was 12pm onwards and we reached the place at 3pm but the owner told us that the rooms were not ready yet. To our utmost disappointment, he was taking a lot time to check so we tried to search for him and raised our voices saying how long will we wait? He then yelled at us and asked us to leave as he will not let us stay there! As if he has paid 7,800 for one night stay! Zero professional service and they promised there will be continental breakfast in terms of which we got bread butter jam and an omelette! We paid 1200 for this separately. We tried to explain him that we didn't get the services that were promised as per our payment but he constantly argued blaming the website i.e booking.com!! The owner really needs to learn how to deal with customers as he is very rude and doesn't really know how to behave! Very very obnoxious experience and wouldn't recommend anyone to visit this place.

This Homestay was really with room quality equivalent of a 3 star hotels. Food was really good, but their hospitality was outstanding… everyone was so polite and understanding. We booked pickup from NJP station and they had arrived right on time. They arranged for side seeing as well. The location was close to the main market, yet nestled in nature. Overall enjoyed the stay very much.

The hospitality of the owner and the staff is really appreciative. Undoubtedly Kalimpong is a beautiful place and the neat and clean ambience of the homestay made our 3 days of stay with them more beautiful. The quality of the food is homely and tasty. The driver named Robin is very jolly and helped us immensely throughout the journey. He made our sightseeing enjoyable and we highly recommend the homestay and him.

I stayed early Feb 2026 on the 4th floor. Had a balcony with beautiful views of Kalimpong. The place is clean, well maintained and the breakfast excellent. Location is a short walk downhill to the town centre. Which means the return is uphill. Mr Yakoub, the host, has lived all his life in Kalimpong and is happy to share his wealth of information with guests. He spent his free day talking me for a five hour tour around Kalimpong. Thanks Mr Yakoub. I enjoyed my stay at your place and meeting your family.

The architectural design of the hotel is truly impressive and visually captivating. The structure reflects a distinctive style often associated with mountain houses or valley cottages, where contrasting exterior and interior elements blend harmoniously to create a unique and charming aesthetic. The property itself is undeniably beautiful and leaves a strong first impression. However, despite its visual appeal, the overall service quality requires noticeable improvement. For instance, although televisions are available in the rooms, guests are reportedly not permitted to use them without prior clarification from the staff, which can be inconvenient and disappointing. Additionally, the staircase design raises safety concerns. The stairs are quite steep and may pose a risk, particularly for elderly guests or individuals suffering from arthritis, as there is a possibility of slipping or falling. Another significant issue relates to Wi-Fi connectivity. While multiple Wi-Fi networks are visible on devices, most appear to be either non-functional or restricted for guest use. The lack of reliable internet access is a major inconvenience and requires the owner’s immediate attention. Furthermore, the door lock was defective and, at times, could not be opened properly. This created inconvenience and raised concerns regarding both safety and accessibility. Such issues should be addressed promptly to ensure a secure and comfortable stay for guests.

More of a hotel stay ,than a home stay, without the professional services . Very little involvement by the owners. We found total dependency on a single house help who was doing everything including cooking, serving & charging as per his will. Food was below standard. A complete led down from what we were expecting from the past reviews. Had to cut short our stay and change to another home stay in Kalimpong which was a wonderful experience and turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

We stayed on December 28th and 29th, 2025. The room was impeccable, and we enjoyed a nice, homely dinner. The owner of the property, Mr. Pradhan, was very cooperative and ready to help with any requests we had. Overall, it was a great experience staying at this property.
