Andrew is a responsible host. The chefs were always ready to meet all our requirements in food. The resort was a paradise. Treks were amazing and escorted by Dinesh. The kanchenjunga view stunning. Husna was very welcoming and friendly and helpful. Thankyou. Will visit again

After the bustle and hustle of India arriving at Glenburn is a contrast of significant magnitude. Nestled in the tea fields the peace and tranquility is restorative. The tea was beautiful. A tour around the tea processing plant was very interesting as was the walk through the plantation. Our host Minty was very attentive and helpful with suggestions of what to do whilst we were there. The room was great and had a massive bed that we had to have a step to get into. Afternoon tea was worth attending and the tea leaf pakora were very tasty. Evening meals were with other guests which provided an opportunity to discuss trip highlights. The only downside was we hadn’t booked it for long enough!

This was a 2nd time to the estate and we weren’t disappointed. First class service in amazing surroundings and excellent rooms. Genuinely friendly staff always looking to make sure you have what you need without being too intrusive. I would recommend Glenburn for a bit of tranquil R&R (unless you want to do some of the 3/4 hr hikes!)

Fantastic boutique hotel where you are looked after by attentive staff whose mission is to make your stay memorable. They succeed in every way possible, always there to organize your day, oh and by the way, the food is fantastic too.

Ein großartiger Aufenthalt in einem wunderschönen Hotel. Tolle Lage mitten in einer Tee-Plantage, liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtete Zimmer im Kolonialstil, sehr gutes Essen gemeinsam mit anderen Gästen und wirklich extrem nette und kompetente Mitarbeiter. Übrigens kein TV nirgendwo.

A beautiful property with excellent food and service. Lovely setting amongst the tea plants. Would have preferred to stay at least an extra night. 2 nights not enough.

What can I say except that Andrew and Minty are the best hosts ! Andrews initially upgraded our room for a couple of nights which was a lovely surprise, the room was huge with extended seating and extremely clean. Our second room was just a wonderful except slightly smaller but it was no matter. |We did two really enjoyable excursions ably led by Shubanker, who was happy to go at our pace and very amiable|I really enjoyed evening drinks with the other guests before we all ate together. Let’s say the wine and conversation flowed.|Every member of staff was wonderful but all credit to Andrew, he was everywhere at once and super helpful and efficient. A special mention for Minty, I cannot thank you enough for filling up a hot water bottle for me every night, it was an absolute luxury especially in the cooler evening. Thank you

Visit this place and you will step back in time - literally - and enjoy a wonderful break from the chaos of today’s world. Lovely, attentive staff; a calm, relaxing environment; and a genuine Victorian era vibe ( which includes an intimate and enjoyable dinner experience every evening). All of which combine to make this a truly magical experience. Plus: you can trek through the plantations, in the mountains, and see first-hand how tea is made in the factory and understand why Darjeeling is so special. Final verdict: bloody marvellous.

Bit of a challenge to get to Glenburn from Bagdogra Airport, but idyllic once you get there. We stopped for a little picnic on our way (it’s about a three hour drive), and had a pit stop at Margaret’s Hope, very clean services! Set in the mountains, about 33 km from the town of Darjeeling, it’s an oasis of peace and quiet and ideal for some relaxation and introspection. Andrew (the manager) and his team made our stay as comfortable and carefree as any 5-star hotel we have stayed at in our travels. The food was filling and delicious. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable (we loved the electric blanket on our bed to warm our feet at bedtime!! ). Bonfires before dinner presented a great opportunity to meet and get to know other guests. Our excursion to Darjeeling and Mall Road was memorable and costly!!! My wife bought a beautiful cashmere shawl in one of the shops - a high quality, silky smooth souvenir of Darjeeling!! From a tea estate tour and tea tasting to hikes along the river (to Sikkim, which we were not able to enter since we didn’t have the requisite permit), to a waterfall hike and lunch in an orchard, there is no shortage of activities to choose from that will work up a hearty appetite for the next meal. We had a wonderful stay, a great opportunity to meet and make news friends!!

This was the highlight of our trip: 5* plus. Accommodation, setting, staff, food and activities all excellent.|Beautiful location, house party atmosphere, well appointed and spacious rooms all added up to great value. More expensive than other places but worth every penny as excursions and activities were all included.|We cannot recommend more highly.

Wonderful from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. The Staff took such care of you but wete also charming and friendly. I now feel I am a tea expert after my visit to the tea factory with Usha. Thank you Andrew and all your staff for making a wonderful start to my holiday

I reached there after being picked up from the airport It's a small place, not the way it looked in the website and photos. It's not doubt look fairy tale but it's has it flaws and in that the pricing is not correct. The rooms are not temperature controlled. So one has to keep on wearing wollens. Room heater is too small for the room Room is beautiful and spacious but the bathroom basin is cracked and so is the bathtub. Hot water doesn't come in the shower properly and one has to wait a lot wasteing to keep the running water for the hot water in the basin. Tea cosy has tea stains all over and the crockery is chipped of paints, look old. Golden rim of the cups are gone and so is the cutlery, tarnished. It's not the cost of the money for the hotel. Their is no doubt old world charm is there. But not worth a visit.

Quite outstanding in every way. They have really thought through the guest experience and made it very very special. Huge rooms, super comfortable beds with electric blanket set on timer (bliss). Staff always available to bring their delicious tea. A great range of interesting excursions at good prices. Food is eaten communally unless you ask for a separate table. We were lucky as the owner was staying, and what a charming and interesting hostess she was. Great chat around the table as she and theother guests were very good value! The property is beautiful- classic colonial, with gorgeously- planted terraces looking across a deep valley. Manager Andrew and his intern Minty were very attentive to our needs. We could not have been made more welcome or more comfortable. We really enjoyed the delicious food, both at breakfast and evening meal. Lunches were also generous. Be prepared for a 3 and a half drive from Bogdogra airport. Much of it follows the Darjeeling toy train route and is fascinating. A wonderful place - go there!

Had a wonderful week here just before Christmas. The accommodation is fabulous, the food is amazing and the service is very good. I enjoyed some lovely walks from Glenburn with their guides, the scenery is fabulous and all the people in the local area very friendly. Everything at Glenburn was to a high standard. I also stayed down at the river lodge if your there for more than a couple of nights well worth doing. The journey to get there is quiet long but well worth the journey when you arrive. I will return.

Just visited Glenburn and can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking to escape city life. The property is absolutely stunning, lush, serene, and full of old-world charm. The factory tour and tea tasting were beautifully done. A special mention to Andrew!

Due to an unexpected change in travel plans we couldn’t make the scheduled lunch visit to Glenburn. The last minute change .. to stop by for afternoon tea instead .. was handled perfectly with Andrew. ||Andrew made our Glenburn visit .. the best part of our time in Darjeeling. We were greeted with the most delicious ice tea on arrival. The 4 of us had never tasted anything like it .. and we live in Hawaii where we have a multitude of ice tea options. ||A tour of their factory is a must .. and certainly gave me a greater knowledge and appreciation of tea. ||The afternoon Tea and Treats was a surprise .. we enjoyed all the various sweet and savory options .. and left not a crumb behind. Andrew shared stories of the Tea Estate, answered our many queries .. all the while keeping the fireplace burning bright. He was an absolute delight .. and rightfully takes great pride in Glenburn

Charmant groupe de villas de style colonial victorien. Réservations et paiement en ligne sur leur site Glenburn Tea Estate qui fournit aussi nombre de renseignements utiles. Tout compris avec transferts depuis Siliguri (pour la valise si l'on prend le DHR) et vers l'aéroport de Bagdogra au retour. La route d'accès a été aménagée et n'est plus le terrifiant lit de torrent d'antan. Plusieurs activités sont également incluses (visites de Darjeeling et de Kalimpong, excursion à la Forest Lodge en bordure de la rivière avec pique-nique excellent, etc). Lessive gratuite. Demander la très belle "Planter's suite" (même s'ils n'aiment pas en principe réserver une chambre spécifique), ou bien la Kanchenjunga suite, au bout du même bâtiment, qui est magnifique, très claire, largement ouverte sur la montagne et équipée d'un "tub". Repas de qualité, très variés (le thème de l'excellent dîner change chaque jour). Le manager Andrew est un petit moustachu efficace et charmeur. Le personnel est extrêmement aimable et attentionné. Une mention spéciale pour Mr Mandeep qui est un steward remarquable. La vue sur le mont Kanchenjunga, le plus haut sommet de l'Inde, est magnifique. Dommage que le thé Glenburn ne soit pas organique, la suppression des pesticides serait un bon argument de vente. Dommage aussi que les beaux interrupteurs anciens en laiton aient été remplacés par de banals interrupteurs en plastique. En outre, un bétonnage massif est en cours en-dessous de l'hôtel car ils construisent un nouvel hôtel, ce qui modifiera sans doute l'atmosphère plaisante et le charme des lieux.
