Where do I even begin? I had the best experiences at Country Escape. And I am not exaggerating. The property is excellent, the people and staff were warm, friendly, kind and welcoming, the food was great. they arranged everything for me. at every moment they made sure my stay was comfortable and pleasing. although I went during the monsoon, so I could not get the view of the valley from the balcny, but man the weather, the mist, the clouds, the forests, the trails, the local people, the place, and the experience was nothing short of magical. I am truly grateful to country escape for hosting me. Thank you everyone. I will most certainly be visiting again, when the weather is better and the views are clearer.

Had an amazing stay (26 June,36-28 june,26)at Country Escape, Sittong! The mountain view is breathtaking, the food is delicious, and the hospitality is exceptional. The manager and cook were extremely caring and welcoming. Special thanks to Shubham, a very sweet and helpful guy, and Biswajit Da, who made our stay truly awesome with his warm behavior. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in Sittong!

This was one of the best homestays we have ever visited. Surrounded by tea gardens and lush forest, it felt like living in the middle of a jungle. The most exciting part was the trek-like route to reach the homestay, which made the journey even more memorable. The breathtaking views, warm hospitality, and delicious Bengali food made our stay truly special. It was a peaceful, adventurous, and unforgettable experience that we would love to experience again.

Did you ever seen Yellow throated Marten, Barking deer, Leopard Scratch marks (and lot more) visiting inside a homestay area almost everyday in North Bengal ? Country Escape Sittong is one such place. No it is not one of your so called "Sittong" it is a paradise built by Santanu Majumdar da in an incredible hamlet called "Toryak Khasmahal" where nature always whispers. Our naturalist Biswajit is one of the best I have ever met in my life and Satyaki (Santanu da's son) is 13 but his knowledge about wildlife & birds can challenge any mature wildlife enthusiasts any day and ofcourse kudos to both the cooks Somnath and Sannashi. Am going back pretty soon it feels like 🙂❤️.

As my husband is a wildlife photographer, he had the wonderful opportunity to connect with the homestay owner, who is also a passionate wildlife enthusiast Mr. Santanu Majumder. He explored the rich wilderness and captured some stunning images of beautiful birds, including the elusive Yellow-throated Marten. The delicious homemade food was a true delight, with every meal prepared with love and care. Waking up to the soothing sounds of nature, lush greenery, and glimpses of wildlife made the experience even more special. Looking forward to returning to this little paradise once again.

A Heavenly Retreat & Biodiversity Paradise in the Eastern Himalayas! Our stay at the Country Escape Homestay in Sittong was nothing short of magical. If you are looking to escape chaotic city life and want to experience true Himalayan serenity alongside jaw-dropping wildlife, this place is an absolute masterpiece. **The Location & Pristine Wilderness:** The homestay is beautifully situated, offering breathtaking, panoramic views of rolling green hills and deep valleys. Because it sits right on the edge of untouched, dense sub-Himalayan forests (near the Mahananda and Senchal wilderness tracks), it is an absolute haven for rich biodiversity. It feels like a hidden world of its own. **A Dream Destination for Wildlife & Bird Enthusiasts:** What completely blew us away was the sheer variety of wildlife and avian fauna thriving right around the property. For a passionate birder or nature tracker, sitting on the homestay's open deck with binoculars is pure bliss. During our short stay and treks nearby, the local wilderness came alive. * **The Avian Treasures:** We were lucky enough to spot and hear the beautiful, melodious notes of the **Streaked Laughingthrush** and the **Alpine Thrush**. Flitting through the trees right near our balcony were the elegant **Dark-sided Flycatcher** and the unique **Nepal Fulvetta**. Looking up at the canopy, we even caught a glimpse of the majestic **Oriental Honey Buzzard** soaring above. * **The Elusive Mammals:** The surrounding canopy is home to the stunning **Malayan Giant Squirrel** leaping between branches, and we even spotted a quick **Yellow-throated Marten** and a nocturnal **Civet** near the forest trails. The hosts shared incredible stories of the deeper jungles surrounding Sittong, which act as a corridor for magnificent creatures like the **Wild Boar**, the **Himalayan Black Bear**, and the ultra-elusive **Indian Leopard** and **Black Panther**. Experiencing a place where nature is so fiercely preserved was humbling. **Warm Hospitality & Cozy Comforts:** What truly makes Country Escape stand out is its warmth. The hosts treat you like family from the absolute moment you arrive. Their genuine smiles, impeccable hospitality, and deep knowledge of the local trails and ecology made our hikes safely thrilling. The rooms are incredibly cozy, rustic, and spotless, featuring wooden interiors and attached modern bathrooms with continuous hot water—a huge luxury at this altitude! **Authentic Food:** The culinary experience here is phenomenal. Every meal was prepared fresh using ingredients sourced straight from their local farms. From piping hot *luchis* or *parathas* for breakfast to traditional, comforting chicken curry and local seasonal vegetables for dinner, everything tasted entirely authentic. **Final Verdict:** Country Escape Homestay isn't just a place to sleep; it’s a soulful gateway into the raw, biodiverse heartbeat of North Bengal.
