⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Perfect Family Stay at Dukes Home, Kalimpong! We stayed at Dukes Home, Kalimpong with our family for 2 nights (10th June 2026 to 12th June 2026), and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with breathtaking mountain views that made every morning special. The ambience of the property is peaceful, relaxing, and perfect for a family vacation. What impressed us the most was the excellent hospitality. The hosts and staff were warm, friendly, and always ready to help, making us feel completely at home. The private lobby was a wonderful place for our family to relax together, while the terrace offered stunning panoramic views of the hills. Our kids had a fantastic time in the kids' play area, which made the stay even more enjoyable for the whole family. Overall, Dukes Home is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Kalimpong. We highly recommend it to families looking for comfort, beautiful views, and outstanding hospitality. We would love to stay here again!

Highly Recommended Stay in Kalimpong We stayed at Duke's Homestay in Kalimpong for two days, and it was a wonderful experience. The hill view from the property is absolutely breathtaking and one of the highlights of our stay. The homestay offers excellent facilities, and everything was comfortable and well-maintained. What impressed us the most was the owner couple. They are extremely kind, warm, and welcoming, and they treat their guests like family. The food was delicious, fresh, and hygienically prepared, making our stay even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend Duke's Homestay to anyone visiting Kalimpong. If you are looking for a peaceful stay with beautiful views, great hospitality, and excellent food, this is the perfect place to stay.

Probably one of THE BEST homestays I have stayed in. What an amazing place to be. Staying here makes me feel glad that I came to Kalimpong for a halt. Coming from a place that burns during summers, it was one of the best Hill experiences of my life as yet. Peaceful place, cool owners and even better views from all around! Do visit. If looking for a comfortable yet affordable stay in Kalimpong, please book this place. From the time we reached the property, the owners were extremely cordial and friendly. The staffs were prompt and we had lovely time there. Both husband and wife were sitting with us and talking and sharing their experiences which made the whole stay super comfortable. The rooms were well lit and had views to die for. The bonus is the access to their well planned and asthetic open terrace. We spent the entire evening sitting their and playing songs in alexa. The food is just straight from the kitchen and completely home cooked (not much spicy). Do ask for their puri (no extra oil and too yum) and also the chicken curry which was mouthwatering. Please book a stay and experience it for yourself. Wish Duke's home all the best and thank you for taking care of us so well. My 5 years old enjoyed it a lot.

The ambience and view of this hotel were genuinely beautiful and relaxing, which is the only reason this review is getting any positive note. Unfortunately, the owner’s behaviour completely ruined the experience for us. Throughout our stay, the owner kept sitting around us and unnecessarily interfering in our personal conversations. We came here for a vacation to relax and enjoy our time, but instead we constantly felt uncomfortable and watched. At one point, while we were casually chatting among ourselves, he rudely told us that we couldn’t even talk loudly, which felt extremely disrespectful and unpleasant. Hospitality is not just about good rooms and nice views — it’s also about making guests feel welcome and comfortable. Sadly, despite the nice ambience, the owner’s intrusive and poor behaviour made our stay disappointing.

The ambience of this hotel is actually very nice and peaceful, which makes it even more disappointing that the overall experience was ruined by the owner’s behaviour. The owner constantly interferes in guests’ conversations and seems far too interested in what other people are talking about. It feels uncomfortable and invasive rather than welcoming. The breakfast was another letdown. The sandwich wasn’t even grilled properly and tasted extremely bland. The omelette had almost no salt at all. While the food quality itself is decent, the preparation and attention to detail are clearly lacking. Honestly, the biggest issue here is not the hotel or even the food — it’s the owner’s attitude and behaviour. A good ambience cannot make up for feeling uncomfortable during your stay.

The hotel has a pleasant ambience and the overall setting is quite nice, making it a good place at first glance. However, the experience is seriously affected by the owner’s behavior. They are overly nosy and intrusive, which makes it uncomfortable and takes away any sense of privacy you’d expect during your stay. On top of that, the food was disappointing—especially the sandwich, which was probably the blandest I’ve ever had. It wasn’t even properly grilled, making it feel careless and below basic standards. Good ambience alone isn’t enough to make up for poor hospitality and lack of respect for guests’ privacy. Would not recommend unless these issues are addressed.

The stay at Duke's Home was an excellent experience. Awesome location where from the rooms itself you can experience the entire mountain range. Very neat and clean the entire building. The terrace is wonderfully and aesthetically planned with music, books, swings, board games and kids and children entertainment. But most important was the warmth, hospitality and behavior of the owners and the staff. They will never let you feel that youare outside your home and always there to accompany you. Will strongly recommend to have an experience there.

Our stay was soo good. The owners are sweetest people we came across. They made us feel so comfortable. The food was so homely and tasty.❤️❤️ Definitely visit their stay if youre in Kalimpong.

What an amazing stay We enjoy a lot and owners are very much kind and very nice persons, we loved to spent time with them, the food was awesome and the service was best . Whatever you need they will provide a sap. And comes to the main point THE VIEW from the room of 226 and also from the terrace. I can say that the best terrace i have ever seen. You can see full kalimpong city and the Kanchanjangha. We will visit again for sure.

Amazing and excellent stay for 3 days. We feels like it's our home in hills, amazing food with the best services and also Owners are really really soo much friendlyand they always helps us. What a view from the all rooms and the special attraction was the terrace. Very cleanv, you can sit there for like 24 hours and do nothing. The kanchanjangha view was amazing with full kalimpong town. We feels like we are on the top of the hill. Much recommend, just go and stay there. Best homestay with home like feeling.

We contacted the property to enquire about room availability and packages. Unfortunately, the tone of the owner during the call felt quite rude and unprofessional. Based on this interaction, it did not leave a positive impression, and we decided not to proceed with the booking. In hospitality, communication plays a very important role, and a polite approach can make a big difference. While there are many positive reviews here, I’m simply sharing my personal experience based on our interaction.

Well, I am getting back at the review after nearly 6 months. I have been to this beautiful paradise last September (2025) with my friends. We are all around 22-23 years old and we had a booking for 3 rooms on the same floor. Firstly, let me start with the hospitality and the location. I have been to nearly all the famous vacation points in India and yet North Bengal still holds a special place in my heart. Right now, I am on a train to Birmingham and while looking at the scenary outside... I was reminded of my days in Duke's Home. Reminiscing about those few days spent with my friends and my partner. The lovely, friendly atmosphere of the owners and their staff. Never have I experienced such humble, affectionate greetings and hospitable treatment while staying in a hotel. Hence, maybe the name proves that this is not a hotel... Its' a home- A homely abode. I would suggest each and everyone of you, who is planning a staycation at Kalimpong: Just Go for this Heavenly Abode. The food was relishing and the view mesmerising.
