Holumba Haven

My 83 year old mum and I serendipitously found this 2 acre haven tucked away on 9th Mile near the fire brigade. Run by the family of Karma T Pempahishey. it was an experience. Octogenarian Karma( uncle) is a phenomena and he took so much care to make my mum feel at home. the property is a bit of beautiful wilderness in the heart of town mostly tensed to by Kesang di and their team. He was a phenomena and we still miss him. We were on a longish stay, Thinlay our gracious hostess tried to make us as comfy as possible and took in our myriad requests in their stride. Padma the cook (unreplicable pancakes and delectable pork curry) , Dinesh who took care of us most, Kanchi didi are some of the unforgettable people we met. it felt like we were leaving behind a second home!

our always go to place at Kalimpong, away from the maddening crowd and garden full of trees and plants, every nook and corner feels asthetic and instagrammable. Food is very homely and good portions. The owner, Mrs Thinley always take special care of your needs and extremely courteous. The only scope is to have AC in rooms with so much of heat during summer time. not recommended for senior citizens with walking issues due to many upward stairs.

Oh, Holumba, truly a haven for someone who's in search of peace and greenery. And, also four legged furry friends. The owners were friendly, chatty and makes you feel at home. The manager, Dinesh, always with a smile on his face serves you the perfect breakfast/lunch and dinner. And, lastly the peace, the greenery and the overall nature of getting connected to nature. Rated 5 out of 5 and I can't wait to get back.

Tiny rooms but good stay ! Lots of plants and good view

Nice home stay.. lots of greenery and very pleasant, they hv the lovey and very old collection of artifacts and lovely up and down locations really pleased and it’s old property but well managed and maintained

Tolle und sehr individuelle Unterkunft in Kalimpong. Sehr freundliche Besitzer. Die Zimmer haben alles, was man braucht. Sehr leckeres Essen. Der Garten ist wunderschön.

Very nice place to stay and relax, away from busy life. It’s serene and close to nature surrounded by orchid garden
