Haamro Ghar had been on my bucket list for almost two years, and I’m so glad I finally got the chance to stay here. I only stayed for one day this time, which honestly felt way too short. The place has such a warm, peaceful and homely vibe that you instantly feel comfortable. Everything about the stay felt genuine and welcoming. A big thank you to Dee, Maddy and Pryan for being so kind and making the stay even more special. The hospitality, the food, the views and just the overall feeling of being at Haamro Ghar made it a really memorable experience. I only wish I had stayed longer. If you’re visiting Mirik and looking for a place that actually feels like your own home away from home, I’d highly recommend Haamro Ghar. Definitely one of the best places to stay in Mirik. ❤️

A beautiful place hosted by a beautiful family. I had a very comfortable stay in Haamroghar. The place is right at the centre of Mirik, so finding a place to eat or strolling to nearby places becomes super easy. Highly recommend if someone wants to explore a quaint town like Mirik while staying at a safe and homely place. Bonus - the hosts are really knowledgeable and welcoming.

Great Location with a Home-Stay Feel We stayed in a Studio unit that featured two rooms, a kitchen, and two bathrooms (one with an Indian-style toilet and shower, and a second with a Western-style toilet). Pros: Prime Location: Very close to both the monastery and the lake. Dining Options: Excellent North Indian and Nepali restaurants are within walking distance. Cons: Service Expectations: Since this is an Airbnb-style homestay rather than a traditional hotel, do not expect standard hotel room service.

Fantastic stay. Room was neat and comfortable, and the surroundings were calm and refreshing. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant experience, even helping us with local tips. A perfect spot if you’re looking to unwind and enjoy a homely atmosphere.”|Visiting it again asap since I got a new family in Far land!

I spent a month at Haamro Ghar, and it was an unforgettable experience. Although it wasn't my first visit to Mirik or my first time staying in a homestay, this extended stay truly stood out. From the moment I arrived until the day I left, I never felt like an outsider. In fact, after spending so much time with Anjalina, Ruby, Aunty, and Uncle, I might even choose their company over my own relatives!||Staying at Haamro Ghar was exceptional, and the hosts have become like family to me. Plus, if you're a cat lover, this place is a dream come true.||Thank you, Anjalina, Ruby, Aunty, and Uncle, for making my stay so memorable. I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

The location was perfect, close to major attractions yet peaceful and relaxing. My partner and I booked one of the studio rooms located on the first floor. Our stay was warm and comfortable in the cosy cottage which had the basics for us to make our coffee. Anjalina and her family are an absolute pleasure to meet with. We joined them for a home-made dinner on our first night and enjoyed the food and the company immensely. Walking distance from Mirik lake and the market - it's an easy walk for meals or a snack. There are also multiple local grocery stores close by to stock up. All in all, a lovely stay! Our only regret was not being able to spend more time with Anjalina and her family.

Our stay at Haamro Ghar was truly unforgettable. The warm and welcoming hosts made us feel like family, inviting us to join them in the kitchen for delicious homemade meals. The cozy atmosphere and comfortable rooms added to the charm. What made it truly special, however, was the way our hosts, the lovely sisters and her parents shared stories of the region's history and culture, immersing us in the local way of life. Their passion and knowledge were infectious, and we left feeling enriched and grateful for the experience. A perfect blend of comfort, culture, and community."

I stayed at Haamro ghar while I was working from home. Room was immaculate. It is centrally located in the Mirik, everything is at 5 minutes distance. Anjalina and her family are very welcoming people. I had a great time there. I highly appreciate and recommend this property for short and long stays. I will miss our conversation with Uncle, Aunty and Anjalina. Hope to see you again.

This place plays right into your pinterest-y cottage core vibes. The host is amazing. The rooms are super cosy, and comfortable. During rains the place gets covered in mist giving it a pure mystical vibe. Absolutely loved staying there. Also they have a super cute cat!

If you ever find yourself on a trip to Darjeeling or North Bengal, I highly recommend you book a stay in Mirik here at Haamro Ghar, not just to explore the beautiful lake town but also to simply experience the top notch hospitality of the hosting family. Trust me, the warmth and love you'll receive from Anjalina and her family is truly unparalleled. My partner and I spend two nights at Haamro Ghar and right from the moment we checked in, we were made to feel at home. But my favorite moments were the community meals which we had with other fellow travelers and uncle, aunty, and her sister Rubina. So much love, such wholesome homemade food, so many stories, so much laughter and so many heart-felt memories. On one of the nights, they even served us a local millet-based drink after dinner. I think it was called Tongba and my God the laughs we had while sipping away a brand new alcoholic drink. Then on another night, it was thundering and the electricity was gone for a while which created this perfect chilly night ambience for ghost stories. Time passed away with relentless conversations and we absolutely had no track of it. Not for once would you feel like you have booked a stay while traveling. You would end up feeling like you have found yourself a new family who love you and care for you not just as a tourist but as someone of their own fam. And that's what made the stay absolutely unforgettable. Also props to the host for taking us hiking through the beautiful lush tea gardens of Okai Tea and Thorbu. They truly were a sight to behold, especially when they became covered with mists. They also organize several other community activities which you can participate in for a more raw travel experience, something that we would have never been able to experience had we booked any other random hotel in Mirik. Oh and special mention to their rooftop which was filled with so many colorful flowering plants and had the most stunning view of the entire Mirik town, right from the lake to the monastery to the lush green pine forest to the distant hills. It was such a stunning view point in itself. Highly recommend spending a few minutes early in the morning right after you wake up.

A Heartwarming Stay at Haamro Ghar in Mirik While traveling from Sikkim to Mirik, I was looking for a homestay when a fellow traveler recommended Haamro Ghar — and I’m so glad they did. Located close to Mirik Lake, this place turned out to be a perfect spot for a peaceful and memorable night. The hosts were incredibly welcoming. Even though I arrived late, I requested if they could prepare dinner for me, and not only did they agree — they cooked an organic, home-style meal that included rice, dal, a flavorful vegetable soup, local organic pickles, and more. What touched me most was that they invited me to dine with their family, and I genuinely felt like I was having dinner at home, surrounded by warmth and kindness. The homestay itself has a beautiful view of the lake, along with lush gardens filled with flowers and vegetables. In the evening, they served me a cup of coffee with biscuits, and we spent almost three hours sharing travel stories, life experiences, and skills. It was more than just a stay — it was a meaningful connection. I’m deeply grateful for their hospitality and the unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for warm hospitality and a peaceful stay in Mirik. Will come soon again for a week @drifter_imad
