This isn't actually a homestay; it is an agency run by a woman named Ayasha. They used to operate a leased property in the past, but now they simply send tourists to other homestays on a commission basis. They are very eager to secure the initial booking, but once that is done, the service provided is abysmal—especially considering the rate of 1,550 per head. The food quality is terrible, and once you arrive in Sittong, Ayasha stops answering her phone. Taking advantage of this, the driver (Mousom Sherpa) assigned to you won't take you on the proper sightseeing tour; he will charge you 3,500–4,500 Taka per day but fail to actually take you to your intended destinations. He will make excuses—claiming the roads are bad or that landslides have blocked the route—yet you will still be required to pay the full fare.
The place is very peaceful and calm. The mountain view from the window is beautiful, and there's a river right beside it. The people here are also very kind and welcoming. Overall, I really liked this place
Not in this location.
It has location error.
It's a nice place for visiting offbeat in darjeeling.
Very warm host...superb personal attention...lovely home food...Best location near Jogighat Sittong
Had an amazing time at the homestay.... The location is so stunning , the host is really welcoming plus the food is great. Must visit if you're looking to reconnect with nature.
Clean rooms and all modern amenities at such an offbeat location. Great for work from home employees as wifi is very good. Food was delicious and oranic.
Thank you, will surely visit again.
What a beautiful place this is !!
Been many places before but the beauty this place hold can't describe in words .
Another beautiful part is kiran river side retreat and their proprietor !! You never feel like you're a guest, they are always their for you to help and guide . You come as a guest and leave as a friend.
Loved the place as we enjoyed the natural swimming pool , rocks , fountain water and the forest mountain mix scenery . Loved to property as a whole , sweet cats and dogs to spend your time with . Nice food
Location really Good, food quality is also good but quantity not as per the standard, Room standard is really pathetic, is full of insects and electricity problem is their. Alternative arrangement not their. In a nutshell cost is not matched with the facilities.
Room is very dirty.. bedsheets are very very dirty. may be they haven't changed the bedsheet after check out of previous guest.food is ok ok. Hopefully they will improve themselves
Terrible experience with Kiran Riverside Retreat. The owner, Ayesha, completely scammed us. She abruptly cancelled our booking just a day before our arrival, giving us a flimsy excuse, and redirected us to a horrible homestay.
The alternative accommodation was filthy—the quilts were so dirty we developed skin allergies and kept waking up with itchy, irritated skin. It was nowhere near worth the ₹2,000 per night we were charged. We later found out that the same place is usually listed for just ₹1,000–₹1,200 a night.
It’s clear that Ayesha took a ₹1,000 commission per night while knowingly pushing us into a subpar, unhygienic stay.
Disgraceful conduct. What’s worse, there’s no real authority or system in place to hold people like this accountable.
We visited kiran riverside retreat recently and it was an absolutely beautiful experience. The bhaiya there was really helpful and sweet as well as he was competent to met all our needs. The room was spacious and comfortable. The location was exquisite and serene. The fun part was it was really close to jogighat. The food was amazing and tasteful. Also we loved the two cats welcoming us warmly with there presence. All in all it was a wonderful stay. Surely would love to visit again.
If you are looking for a serene stay amidst nature...this is the place...Thanks Ayesha for all the arrangements & Nikhil for the warm hospitality & great freshly cooked food...!!
It was a great experience being there. We loved the place, evening barbeque and the silence between the mountains.
Very bad homestay..never think to go there..rooms are dampened, food quality is bad, food is very minimal in quantity..in reality the homestay is far bad from the good pics shown in advertisement...Don't be fool by the advertisement the owners are running in facebook and Instagram...
WORST homestay EXPERIENCE of my life..I have stayed at many homestays rather I prefer homestays than hotels ,but this was a nightmare..From room quality to food to maintenance of the property,I would give owner Ayesha a BIG ZERO..They will give you food of worth 200 max in the entire day,for which they charged us 1350 per person per day..everywhere there is UNHYGIENIC DIRTY surroundings.food serving utensils are 100 years old, BLACKENED and UNTIDY..They are just doing a very bad business, taking from guests a handful of money and in return giving nothing,no maintenance of the property,no cleaning nothing..I would better rate it 0..very very bad hospitality...STAY AWAY...
REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE
STAY ALERT
DANGER ALERT🥹🥹😡😡🦞🪱🚨..
Worst experience of my life..never ever try to stay here ,even in your dreams..The owner ayesha is trained to fool you in every aspects by her soft words(as she is professionally trained in hospitality)..The homestay is comparable to a barren land(though ayesha claims it to be a garden over phone),very much unhygienic and dirty..The rooms are very much dirty, floor tiles are broken, bed is rocksolid(very much difficult to lay down),bedsheets and pillows are very much cheap dirty torn here and there, ..The quality of food is okay, but they serving very minimum in quantity, food serving utensils are also very much cheap, unhygienic and dirty..Rooms are very much cold in night ..Ayesha offered room heater which is chargeable (literally they hv planned to loot u in every aspect)..
Only Positive point:- the cookboy is very friendly and well mannered...
I recently stayed at Kiran Riverside Retreat, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff’s hospitality was exceptional, ensuring we felt welcomed and comfortable throughout our stay.
The location is stunning, nestled right by the riverside, offering breathtaking views and a serene ambiance. It’s the perfect escape for anyone seeking tranquility amidst nature. The property is well-maintained, with lush greenery and thoughtfully designed spaces that exude charm.
The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated, providing all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. I especially enjoyed waking up to the soothing sounds of the river and indulging in the peaceful atmosphere.
One of the highlights of our stay was the food – fresh, flavorful, and locally inspired dishes that truly elevated the experience. The dining setup by the river added a magical touch to our meals.
There were also plenty of activities to enjoy. Whether you’re traveling with family, as a couple, or even solo, this retreat caters perfectly to all.
Overall, Kiran Riverside Retreat is a hidden gem that combines natural beauty, exceptional service, and a relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a rejuvenating getaway. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
Bad quality food. Service is poor.
