We had a very disappointing experience staying here. We visited in June, and the weather was extremely hot. Unfortunately, the room had no fan or proper ventilation, making it feel very suffocating. We politely requested a stand fan from the staff, but instead of helping us, they refused and even appeared to make fun of us in Nepali, which felt very disrespectful and unprofessional. We also tried to contact the owner/manager, but they were unwilling to help or resolve the issue. The rooms were not properly clean, and we also felt there was a lack of privacy, which made us uncomfortable as a couple. To make matters worse, after I posted my review, the owner contacted me personally and sent disrespectful messages instead of addressing the concerns professionally. The food quality was also below average. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this place. I hope the management takes genuine guest feedback seriously and improves their service.

We stayed at this homestay in June and had a very disappointing experience. The weather was extremely hot during our visit. We had booked two rooms, the rooms were not clean, there were no fans. We requested a stand fan, but the staff were not cooperative and kept giving excuses instead of helping us. Their behavior towards guests was disrespectful, which is completely unacceptable. The food quality was also below average. Considering the amount they charge, we expected much better hospitality and service, but unfortunately, it was very poor. Overall, I would not recommend Silent Valley Homestay. There are many better options available around Kolakham that offer much better service and hospitality.

Amazing views right from the room and perfect if trying to escape the crowds. Just wish the room had been a bit cleaner, but otherwise a really great stay.

It felt like a cheap road side motel. Not very clean and no privacy. Don't take your family there, specifically parents or elders.

Our stay at this homestay during our trip was truly wonderful. The place is peaceful, clean, and surrounded by beautiful nature which made the experience even more special. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained, and the view from the property was amazing. The hosts were extremely warm, friendly, and helpful, making us feel completely at home. The homemade food was delicious and added a very authentic touch to the stay. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet and cozy stay close to nature. 🌿🏔️

The silent village of kolakham is just ossum the best place to cure the self u will hear a lot of birds er chirps and a lot varity of insects , we enjoyed the place more because of the host's hospitality, they cooled very well , I did over eating , the rooms are quiet spacious and you get balcony that gives you a great view of pine and other trees ... it's a forested area if you are lucky you get to see red pandas

Kolakham Silent Valley Homestay is located about 2km away from Kolakham village deep within the Himalayan forest. The location itself offers a sense of peace and tranquility. The forest surrounding Kolakham has 256 species of birds, insects and other animals. It is also located at a walkable distance from Changey Waterfalls. This homestay offers a perfect place for stay for photographers offering chances of landscape, astro, bird, nature and macro photography. The rooms have basic amenities like beds, geyser, table, chairs and a great balcony view of the entire valley, Sikkim and Kunchenjunga. The inly downside is the rooms are a bit tightly spaced and the bathroom can sometimes become a bit stuffy due to the absence of windows. The service was top class and the hosts were very kind and welcoming. A special shoutout to Sasita Gurung who took extremely good care of us for the 2 nights we spent there. The food was simple and hommade and also very tasty and in sufficient quantity. There are also 3 pet dogs and 2 cats which provide great company to guests. I personally took them with me on the forest walks and it provided a sense of security. Overall it was a fantastic experience and it is truly worth visiting again.
