The trip to Tudkah wasn't pre planned, my wife arranged it to escape the ramshackle of her mental agony from office duty and petty politics and I just followed. This is the 3rd time I'm visiting Darjeeling dist. and suffice to say that this is the best stay I have enjoyed so far. The owner of this homestay is an renowned Chef and he made us some very unique dishes. It is absolutely germane to mention that the serendipity of nature attracted me like a mad magnet. Had a phenomenal stay over there and now going back to pollution, chaos and conundrum.Ciao

Our stay at this homestay was a truly unforgettable experience that perfectly combined cozy comfort, breathtaking scenery, and exceptional hospitality. The rooms were beautifully maintained and provided a warm, relaxing atmosphere, while the stunning, unobstructed views of the Kanchenjunga range made every moment on the balcony feel magical. We were especially impressed by our host, Sabin ji, whose humble nature and genuine dedication to our comfort made us feel right at home; he is an incredible cook who prepares a delightful variety of dishes for every meal, and his culinary skills, combined with his outstanding hospitality, are the reason why guests will undoubtedly want to come back to this place again and again.

This is one homestay that I couldn't imagine it really exists! Only four cottages with free Wifi access, each well separated from others, perfect serenity and appropriate for meditation - and amazingly variant food prepared by its owner who himself is the chief chef of Glenburn resort in Glenburn Tea Estate. We had an open bath in the hilly river named Rongdong - an activity managed by the authority of Namsewal Cottages and Homestay. At such a low price everything found is so valuable! I must return here soon.

One of the most underrated homestays in North Bengal. The property is absolutely beautiful, with private cottages offering stunning views of the Sleeping Buddha. The hospitality is exceptional, and the food experience is truly unmatched. This has easily become my go-to homestay in the entire region.

Excellent. Speechless experience. Best homestay near darjeeling- lamahatta. Food is beyond 5 star experience. Small details about a child is also taken care of. The chef is just marvelous. Unparallel hospitality and beyond words can say overall experience.

I have been visiting the hills and staying at homestays for the last twenty years or so, but our recent stay at Namsewal Cottages & Homestay has been the best in terms of service and location. But what exceeded our expectations was Sabinji's culinary skills. He surprised us with every meal he offered. He and his dedicated team made sure that we felt at home. Sabinji has set the bar so high that we may find it difficult to choose another homestay for our future visits to the hills.

A hidden gem near Lamahatta – truly world class We spent 2 peaceful days at Namesewal Cottages & Homestay, and it turned out to be one of the most rejuvenating stays we’ve ever had. The location is absolutely stunning—nestled in a small village at Rana Gaon, surrounded by pristine nature, with breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga. It’s completely cut off from the hustle and bustle, making it perfect for anyone looking to slow down and reconnect with nature. The food deserves a separate review altogether. Every single meal was exceptional, thoughtfully curated, and nothing was repeated: • English breakfast • Nepali thali for lunch one day and a rich mutton thali the next • Chinese dinner one evening and beautifully prepared smoked pork the other Snacks like homemade carrot cake, banana cake, bruschetta, and momos were simply out of this world. Each dish reflected the depth of experience of Mr. Sabin, a passionate chef—truly world-class flavours and presentation. The staff are incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive—always smiling and making sure we were comfortable at every step. You genuinely feel cared for here. The property itself is aesthetically designed, blending beautifully with its natural surroundings. Every corner feels calm, tasteful, and thoughtfully done. For the kind of experience offered, the pricing is more than modest—excellent value for money. Bonfires can also be arranged at an additional cost, which adds to the charm of the evenings. This place is ideal for anyone who wants to: • Be one with nature • Rest and rejuvenate • Eat exceptional food • Go on short nature walks • Simply disconnect and breathe Highly recommended. We’ll definitely be back.

Absolute delight of a place to be, amazing views with amazing food. Although the approach road is difficult but the place makes up for everything. Must visit for every nature admirer.

It was so so pleasant to visit there. Just one suggestion, add room heater 😀😀for people like us who can't tolerate cold but love mountains. Loved it

Me and two of my friends wanted an offbeat location which is far away from the hustle and bustle of city life and I am glad that I chose Namsewal Cottage of Ranagaon for our two day vacation. This place seems like a total cut out piece of land where u can hear only the sound of a running stream, Birds, cicadas and crickets. I can vouch that very few homestays of North Bengal will serve food as good as theirs and will provide such an ambience as theirs. Only that the access road has to be walked on foot , around 500 mts which is quite uneven. And the last part of the motorable road is not good. Try to be in a group, so that evenings can be enjoyed with bonfire, barbecues( Cooked by demand) and in chitchats.
