NICE PEOPLE. NIMA JI AND HIS WIFE. WE FELT A HOMELY ATMOSPHERE THERE. THE BEAUTY OF THE PLACE IS AWESOME. WE RESTORED OUR ENERGY FROM THERE TO FIGHT IN OUR DAILY LIVES.
Very good experience .Behaviour of the owner is excellent.Food is delicious.Rooms are clean.And last but not the least chatakpur is an excellent place.
Excellent homestay with a beautiful view of kanchenjunga from the room...good food..and Nima ji is a very good host...
One of the highest and most beautiful homestays in upper Chatakpur. You can have beautiful view of almost entire Chatakpur from the balcony. On a clear day you can see full range of Kanchanjunga (unfortunately we didn't have that due to dull sky) from your bed. It's located in 3-4 minutes walking distance from famous Chatakpur watch tower. Car can be reached till the foot of the homestay so there will be no issue for elderly people.
Now comes about our experience. Homestay owner Mr. Nima Sherpa and his family have had great hospitality towards us. Say it preparing different dinner items for my 65 years old Dad or arranging warm water multiple times for my 1.5 years old kid.

Stay: 16th April 2026, one night.
1. Host: truly kind, caring and polite. Sri Nima Sherpa and his spouse look after each guest personally. (They do not use not some random caretaker.).
2. Food: fresh, home cooked and delicious. Hot rotis and rice with salad, veg/nonveg. Tea and fresh snacks when you reach. Hot breakfast the next morning. Outstanding care and service.
3. Room: neat, clean with attached spotless bathroom with geyser. Excellent. Unobstructed views. Flowers and gardens.
4. Location: amazing village. Surrounded by forests. Quiet, scenic beauty. Not crowded at all. And you should use the local guide for amazing forest hikes.
5. Road to reach: forest road of mud and stones. So be prepared for 1 hr of a very rough ride. Only travel by Sumo, Bolero, Scorpio.
6. Overall: Excellent for those who value peace, quiet and authentic village life surrounded by forests and taken care by really caring hosts.

I’ve stayed in many places, but Yang Homestay in Chatakpur is truly on another level. The owners are some of the most lovable and humble people I’ve ever met—their hospitality and constant helpfulness made me feel right at home.
The food is absolutely incredible; every meal was a delicious highlight of the day. Combine that with the breathtaking views, and you have a stay that is a total gem. Every detail was taken care of with such a great gesture. I left with a full heart and a very happy stomach.

Staying at Yang Homestay Chatakpur felt like walking straight into a piece of poetry. Between the serene forest views and the incredible hospitality, I couldn't have asked for a better escape. The food was delicious, the gestures were warm, and the overall vibe is something you’ll want to experience over and over again.
Pro tip: You absolutely cannot miss the Jungle Safari! It’s a must-try.

Visiting Yang Homestay for the second time felt just as comforting as the first. I’d especially like to mention Nima Sherpa ji, the owner - an ex-army man, a wonderful human being, and always welcoming guests with his trademark smile. He is extremely helpful with transport arrangements, sightseeing suggestions, and food choices, making the stay completely hassle-free.
A special mention to his wife as well—she truly mirrors Nima ji’s warmth and hospitality. An excellent cook, her home-style meals add a special charm to the entire experience.
Yang Homestay feels less like a place to stay and more like a home away from home. Highly recommended. Will visit again ❤️
Awesome location with Kanchenjunga view, car can go upto Homestay, neat and clean rooms with all basic amenities, homely food, and above all cordial hosting by Mr Nima and family. Love it!
