Stayed at Tashi Homestay and had a wonderful experience. Owner Deep Bhaiya is very humble, and his daughter is super cute 😊 We were the only guests at that time due to elections, so it felt very peaceful and private. The accommodation was great and the food was really good. Overall, a warm and homely stay—highly recommended 👍

We have reached Tasi Homestay on 13th March. It was a rainy afternoon and we expect a cosy, warm hearted greetings followed by some tea and some "homely" environment. To our surprise it was THE WORST homestay ever. The rooms were so smelly and moldy. No electricity so one can't even charge phone. No water supply so be very mindful of that. The food is so bad we skipped breakfast. What shocked me even more is the urgency of the homeowner to return back to his home without even asking if we are doing okay or not. To answer my question regarding power he simply said we dont provide inverter line to our guests. We literally fleed the homestay the very next morning shortening our trip to Chatakpur. The village is great but Tasi homestay is the worst. Would not recommend to anyone.

March 2026: We had such a wonderful experience at Tashi Homestay last year that we decided to visit again. Deep Bhai is still serving the best food, delicious, hearty, and full of flavors. His warmth and hospitality make every stay feel special. Some experiences are timeless. March 2025: Starting our month-long trip in Chatakpur was the best decision we made, and staying at Tashi Homestay made it unforgettable. deep within pine forests, the homestay offers an incredible view of the mighty Kangchenjunga. The surrounding wilderness, with its rich flora, Rhododendron, magnolia and many more. Mr. Deep Gurung is a fantastic person with an infectious vibe. He ensured we were comfortable throughout our stay, prepared the most delicious meals, and was always eager to share and learn about different cultures and places. His warmth and hospitality truly made us feel at home. We explored all the nearby areas, each offering its own unique charm. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with breathtaking views and genuine hospitality, Tashi Homestay in Chatakpur is the place to be.

The best Homestay in upper chatakpur

If I'm being honest, it was the best homestay I've stayed in till date. The food will give you a feeling of home. They serve four hot meals. Dip bhaiya,the owner, cooks the food himself. He even let us eat our breakfast on the roof with the view of mountains. If you ask me about the position, just see the picture of Kanchenjunga I clicked from our balcony. You can see the Kanchenjunga from your room(we got the rooms of first floor). If you stand on the balcony you can see the forest and the mountains altogether. It got a beautiful roof from where you can watch the star-filled nightsky. The owner is a really nice and welcoming person. He was really cooperative with us. He constantly asked us if we were comfortable with everything. If you wanna go to an offbeat serene village and spend a few days in bliss, go visit Chatakpur and stay at Tashi Homestay.

The only Tashi Homestay review you'll ever need! The Rooms: Spacious rooms, large beds, warm blankets, multiple pillows! The beds easily sleep 2 people, 3 if you're willing to adjust. All rooms have multiple charging sockets and attached baths with instant geysers. One of our rooms had two attached bathrooms while the other one had huge bed-mounted cabinets for storing your belongings. The Food: Owner and Host Mr. Deep Gurung is an excellent homecook. We were served hot meals thrice a day, tea in the morning and evening, and evening snacks (pakodas or momos). Gurung's cooking will definitely remind you of home as his dishes are light and delicious. Fish or eggs for lunch, chicken for dinner (you can either have roti or rice for dinner). He kept it varied, offering us waiwai with boiled eggs one morning, and waiwai with omelettes the next. We were even served breakfast on the roof on the last day of our stay. You can ask for hot drinking water. The Location: Tashi Homestay is the first homestay you'll see in Upper Chatakpur. On clear days, you can see the Kanchenjunga peak right from your bed (we got lucky). The roof provides an excellent 360° view of the forest and mountain ranges around you. The homestay is 10-15 min walks away from the nearby Senchal Forest, Kala Pokhri sacred lake and the amazing Chatakpur Watchtower. The Host: Mr. Deep Gurung is a wonderful host, inquiring us multiple times throughout the day if we are comfortable. He graciously entertained our requests for hot drinking water and extra mugs for the bathroom. He treated us very well, definitely made us feel at home in Tashi. Overall: Tashi Homestay is a great place to stay for your visit to Chatakpur. Very affordable. Very Comfortable. I highly recommend it.

Excellent location, ideal for nature lovers, on clear day Kanchanjangha may be visible from rooms. Good food, owner very helpful and cooperative. One of the best offbeat tourist destinations in North Bengal.
