Great stay and friendly and helpful employees. The food was super great

I was bitten by their ferocious pet dog out of no where which was wandering unchained and the people around were ptrtty reluctant to do anything about it. However, the hospitality of the people here are pretty good otherwise and they did the most they could to arrange the vaccines for me. Just a word of caution to the management, please chain your dogs now onwards when the guests are around.

Firstly Pedong is such a place which is related with historical values, if you are not interested in history of Kalimpong, then don't need to stay there. The visiting places of Pedong are Milon top view point from where you can see the whole Zuluk and some part of Sikkim. Pedong is on the silk route which was used for business with Tibbet (China) , Buddhist and Christian Missionaries use this path to expand their religion. Cross hill and Sechen Dorjee Monastery both are very important visiting places of Pedong but most of the tourists just spend the days by only staying in Homestays. Hidden Heaven is situated near the milon top, the area is very nice and large. But what you mean offbeat, this homestay is not an offbeat place, even Pedong is a very developed small hill town. So, you will not feel it as an offbeat place. Homestay is like a hotel, the rooms are nice with an attractive view,but the rooms are not so clean, we found several cockroaches there. Even there is only one light inside the room which is ridiculous. The room looks very dim to me. Western toilet, no such problem is there. The kitchen is nice and self service. But they used excessive salt in each and every food. Best thing you can do from here is the Milon top view point as morning walk.
