Very nic homestay...

My stay here was by far one of the most stellar experiences of my life. The view was outstanding with rich surrounding life aura. The hospitality of the hosts was something that was unexpected. We were taken care of not as guests but as if we are of the same family. From their cooking to their cleanliness and maintainance of the homestay was impeccable. Basant ji was very helpfull. Car is also available for Sightseeing.

It was wonderful experience staying with Newa Homestay and the location was really serene.

We booked 6 nights off beat tour with Mr Basant Pradhan to Darjeeling Sikkim and stayed at Newa holiday home for 2 nights. Great location with beautiful view, rooms were clean and food was tasty. Service was great. The host and his family are all lovely people. They arranged everything very smoothly.

I had a wonderful stay at Newa Holiday Home, Pedong, and it truly deserves a 5-star rating. The overall experience was very satisfying, especially considering the affordability and warm hospitality. The food was one of the highlights of the stay—very tasty, fresh, and homely. All meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening tiffin were well-prepared and enjoyable. The environment and scenic beauty around the property are absolutely stunning. The location is excellent, with a lot of open space in front of the homestay, making it a perfect place to relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings. The staff members are बेहद polite, friendly, and always ready to help. Their responsiveness and hospitality made the stay even more comfortable and memorable. Rooms are neat and well-maintained, though slightly small in size. Each room comes with an attached bathroom, and the central geyser facility ensures hot water availability, which is a big plus. At a price of around ₹1100 per head including all meals, it offers great value for money. Overall, a highly recommended place for anyone looking for a peaceful stay with good food and warm hospitality in Pedong. Will definitely visit again!

Last four days we have spent our weekend here,,from the day 1 both our stay & journey have been fantastic ,,The owner Mr Basant Pradhan & his wife have shown the definition of hospitality ,,Also the car driver Surajit dada was fabulous with his driving & a hidden photography skill also..200% recommendation from our side ...Must visit place

Great location, great scenario and outstanding people Mr. And Mrs. Basant Pradhan ji and their team are a joyful host. Food tasted great and very cooperative. Arranged a bonfire for us and kept my special request too. They cook and serve really tasty food. Good tea too. Clean rooms and bathroom and good hot water supply.

থাকার সময়: ২৬-১২-২০২৫ থেকে ২৮-১২-২০২৫ মোট অতিথি: ২১ জন (ছোট বাচ্চাসহ) আমরা Pedong-এর Newa Holiday Home-এ এই সময়টায় ছিলাম। দুঃখের সাথে বলতে হচ্ছে, আমাদের অভিজ্ঞতা সন্তোষজনক ছিল না। আমরা দুপুর প্রায় ১টা নাগাদ পৌঁছাই, কিন্তু তখন গরম জল পাওয়া যায়নি। পরে যেটা বুঝেছি, এই homestay-তে ২৪ ঘণ্টা hot water দেওয়া হয় না। গরম জল দেওয়া হয় শুধু নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে— সকালে আনুমানিক ২ ঘণ্টা রাতে প্রায় ৩০ মিনিট (রাত ৯:৪০ নাগাদ) যেদিন আমরা পৌঁছাই, সেদিন রাতের আগে গরম জল দেওয়া হয়নি। পরের দিন সকালে কিছু সময় এবং রাতে আবার সীমিত সময়ের জন্য গরম জল দেওয়া হয়। Bathroom-এ কোনো আলাদা geyser নেই। একটি tap হাত দিয়ে চেপে ধরে রাখলে তবেই জল পড়ে, এবং সেটা শুধু নির্দিষ্ট hot water timing-এর মধ্যেই কাজ করে। নির্ধারিত সময়ের বাইরে জল আসে না। শীতের সময়, বিশেষ করে বাচ্চা বা পরিবারের সঙ্গে থাকলে বিষয়টি খুবই অসুবিধাজনক। Room ব্যবস্থা সমান মানের নয়। Ground floor-এ কোনো guest room নেই সব ঘর 1st floor-এ Front side-এর ঘরগুলো তুলনামূলক ভালো Back side-এর ঘরগুলো ছোট এবং কম আরামদায়ক খাবারের মান আমাদের প্রত্যাশা অনুযায়ী ছিল না। কিছু খাবারে কৃত্রিম রং ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে বলে মনে হয়েছে এবং সামগ্রিকভাবে quality সন্তোষজনক নয়। Host Mr. Basant-এর সাথে যোগাযোগের সময় আমরা সহযোগিতামূলক ও অতিথিবান্ধব আচরণ প্রত্যাশা করেছিলাম, কিন্তু বাস্তবে তা পাইনি। ⚠️ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তথ্য ভবিষ্যৎ অতিথিদের জন্য: শীতকালে family, senior citizen বা ছোট বাচ্চা নিয়ে থাকলে, এবং যদি ২৪×৭ hot water প্রয়োজন হয়, তাহলে এই homestay উপযুক্ত নাও হতে পারে। এই অভিজ্ঞতার ভিত্তিতে আমি ব্যক্তিগতভাবে এই homestay সুপারিশ করতে পারছি না।

Stay: 26-12-2025 to 28-12-2025 Group: 21 guests (including three small child) We stayed at Newa Holiday Home, Pedong, and our overall experience was very poor. We reached the property at around 1:00 PM, but hot water was not available on arrival. We were informed that previous guests had “used up” the hot water, which later proved to be incorrect. In reality, hot water is provided only at fixed timings, not throughout the day: Morning: approx. 2 hours Night: only 30 minutes (around 9:40 PM) On the day of check-in, hot water was provided only at night. The next day, it was available for a short duration in the morning and again briefly at night. There is no geyser inside the bathrooms. Hot water comes from a common line, and guests must manually press and hold the tap for water to flow. Outside the limited hot-water hours, no water flows at all. This setup is highly inconvenient, especially for families and guests traveling with children during winter. Room quality is inconsistent. No guest rooms are available on the ground floor All rooms are on the first floor Front-side rooms are comparatively better Back-side rooms are very small, poorly maintained, and uncomfortable Food quality was below expectations. Items like thukpa appeared artificially colored and lacked basic quality and taste. The host, Mr. Basant, was uncooperative and unprofessional in communication. Concerns raised by our group were not handled in a hospitable or transparent manner. ⚠️ Important note for future guests: This property is not suitable for families, senior citizens, or guests with small children during winter, especially if 24×7 hot water is a requirement. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this homestay.

Wonderful Stay at Newa Holiday Home, Pedong:- We had a very peaceful and comfortable stay at Newa Holiday Home, Pedong. The rooms were clean, cozy, and surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a perfect offbeat destination in North Bengal. The food was fresh, homely, and delicious. The hosts took special care of our daughter, especially regarding her food and daily needs, which made us feel truly at home. Warm hospitality, calm environment, and personal care made our stay memorable. Highly recommended for families looking for a quiet and caring homestay experience.

We had an absolutely wonderful 2-night, 3-day stay at Newa Holiday Home in Pedong! If you are looking for a true "home away from home," this is the place. The location is perfect with beautiful views, but the highlight was definitely the hospitality. The vibe is incredibly cozy and family-oriented, making us feel welcome instantly. The homemade food was delicious and comforting—exactly what we needed. A perfect spot for a getaway with friends. Highly recommended!
