The best stay of our last trip to North bengal– A True Home Away From Home! Our stay was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped through the door, the hosts welcomed us not just as guests, but like absolute family. Their warmth, genuine hospitality, and care made our trip incredibly special. The mouth-watering food they offer cannot be found elsewhere. And the most amazing thing is they provide variety and choices of food which most homestays do not provide(egg, chicken, fish or veg). A special thank you to host Ramita ji, and two beautiful girls Namrata and Ganga for making our stay so memorable. Would love to revisit soon. And it's a heaven for pet lovers as the furry friends you meet here will make your stay more amazing. Wish I could praise you more. Lots and lots of love to you all ❤️ P.S: we didn't get the bunglow rooms but booked the cottage as we booked ta the last minute. And we're so happy we did as it was so clean and beautiful.

**A Magical & Warm Stay!** Our stay at this property was wonderful. The location offers a picturesque view, and the hosting is incredibly warm. A special shoutout to the two cute little girls, Namrata and Ganga, who always attended to us with bright smiles, and we loved interacting with the furry friends on the property! The food was excellent—very homely, tasty, and always served fresh and warm. Just two minor suggestions for improvement: installing an exhaust fan in the washroom would help it dry out, as it currently stays wet and gets slippery, and the outdoor dining area could use more regular dusting to clear away cobwebs. We can't wait to revisit, and hopefully next time we'll manage to book their newly launched studio apartment!

Lovely home stay. Ramita and team are extremely warm and welcoming. Got excellent home cooked meals. Everything was customised to our requirement. The rooms were neat..clean & spacious. The location had a fantastic view. Don’t have any second thoughts if you are in Takdah.

We stayed there from 15th April, 26 for two days, and it was truly a wonderful experience. From the warm welcome to the excellent quality and generous portions of the food, and the overall hospitality—everything exceeded our expectations. It’s rare to come across such consistently high standards. A special mention goes to a young staff member named Ganga. She was absolutely delightful—her kind nature and ever-smiling face left a lasting impression on my entire family. The owner madam was equally gracious and courteous to all guests. Her thoughtful farewell on our last day made our departure even more memorable and pleasant. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special.❤️

We had the opportunity to stay at the vintage bungalow in Takdah and we were hosted by Ramita ma'am. We arrived quite late night at the property due to the road conditions from where we traveled and were unable to locate because it was a dark and cold night. Ramita assisted us her best to reach the property which went down the road, and had a very good dinner. She had prepared very tasty dinner with her staff and we had a very good sleep. We stayed in very spacious, vintage rooms which gave the vintage charm in moder days and were perfect for a vacation from the daily bustling life in cities. In the morning, I was greeted by a very good sunrise as the property is also East side facing. I also stargazed the same night we reached, because the skies were very clear, although i was tired too. I was guided by mam for the local sightseeing spots me being a traveler i do not prefer visiting touristy places, so she planned my itinerary accordingly as I had wanted exactly. Takdah is a very offbeat location around Darjeeling, i would highly recommend to stay at this property and spend a very nice vacation. Ramita mam, has very cute and friendly pets (am not remembering the names now), but i loved all of them, there was a cute cat who purred outside our room while getting the morning warmth of the sun. A feline myself, i loved her cats, I remember the brown cats and 'widow' specifically who were super cute. I want to thank her staffs specifically, who had taken care of our needs and cooked very delicious food. - Ganga - Namrata Namrata and Ganga di amader poribar theke bhalobasha o subheccha nio 🫰🏼 We were also bid goodbye very well in a local tradition fashion, i will attach a pic of it, which was quite new to me and a warm feeling of bidding someone goodbye. Ramita mam is very well attached to her roots and is a very good person herself. We shared quite good stories and had very good time at the bungalows. My scores on this property, Hospitatility - 5/5 Location - 5/5 Ease of access - 3/5 (the road down to the property is quite steep down and is risky for a vehile; 4 wheeler to get down; please practice extra caution while getting down there; 2 wheeler isnt an issue)

Wonderful stay at Romita’s place in Takdah. Romita is a warm and thoughtful host who made sure we were always comfortable and truly felt at home throughout our stay. She also cooked us delicious home-style meals that were a real highlight of the trip. The property itself has some of the best views in Takdah, with a peaceful ambience that’s perfect for relaxing and soaking in the mountains. Overall, highly recommend Romita’s property to anyone visiting Takdah and would love to stay here again.

Takdah Cantonment, with its rich history dating back to the British colonial era, is a serene hill station full of lush pine forests and beautiful tea gardens. Staying here feels like stepping back in time to a calm, peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. Among the charming old bungalows, Takdah Heritage Bungalow No. 15 holds a very special place in my heart. From the moment we arrived, Ms. Ramita greeted us with such genuine warmth and kindness—it instantly felt like we were staying at a close friend’s home rather than a guesthouse. Her thoughtful care and attention to every little detail made our stay comfortable and memorable. The bungalow’s surroundings are breathtaking, with stunning views from every room that let you wake up to the misty hills and fresh mountain air every morning. The hospitality here is truly beyond words. Ganga and Namrata, the caretakers, are among the sweetest people we've ever met. Their polite and humble nature made us feel so welcomed and cared for. And we can’t praise their cooking enough—each meal was a delicious, heartfelt experience, with fresh, local flavors that made us look forward to every bite. Their food felt like home-cooked magic. Every day at Takdah Heritage Bungalow No. 15 felt like a peaceful retreat nurtured by thoughtful hosts who genuinely love what they do. If you want a place that combines beautiful history, stunning views, warmth, and amazing home-cooked food, I highly recommend this bungalow. It’s not just a stay, it’s a soul-refreshing experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit here!

We spent 4 wonderful days and nights at Heritage Bungalow 15, Takdah under Ramita Lepcha Madam’s Homestay, and it was an amazing experience. Ramita Madam and her two companions, Namrata and Ganga, were extremely caring, cooperative, and always smiling. The bungalow is beautifully located — surrounded by serene hills yet close to the small local market. And we can’t forget the adorable pets — Valu, Pubji, Kalwati, and others — whose playful charm made every day delightful. Truly a perfect blend of nature, warmth, and hospitality. Highly recommended! 🌿✨

Last month, we visited Takdah, and we stayed at Bungalow No. 15. To be honest, words can hardly express how wonderful our experience was there. The bungalow itself is incredibly beautiful — the stunning view, the elegant rooms, and above all, the warm hospitality made our stay truly unforgettable. The hosts were always around, making sure we were comfortable and happy. Whatever we wished for, they tried their best to provide it — from delicious meals to every small comfort. They allowed us to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings for as long as we wanted. And finally, a special mention must go to Smt. Ramita Madam, the owner of the bungalow. What can I say about her? In all my 20–25 years of travelling to various hill destinations and staying at many fine hotels and homestays, I have rarely seen someone take such heartfelt care of their guests. Her kindness, attention, and genuine affection made our stay extraordinary. All I can say is — I will never forget our stay at Bungalow No. 15, and I will never forget the warmth and hospitality of Smt. Ramita Madam.

Our stay at Heritage Bungalow No. 15 in Takdah was nothing short of exceptional. The property itself is a beautiful slice of history — a charming old bungalow with vintage architecture, well-maintained gardens, and a peaceful atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The rooms were spacious, cozy, and tastefully decorated, striking the perfect balance between heritage charm and modern comfort. Waking up to the misty hills and serene surroundings was truly magical. One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the food. Every meal was prepared with so much love and care — fresh, delicious, and deeply satisfying. From homely comfort dishes to local specialties, each bite felt authentic and memorable. It was the kind of food you’ll keep craving even after leaving. A huge part of what made our experience so wonderful was the people. The owner, Ramita Ma’am, is a gracious host with a warm personality who makes sure every guest feels cared for like family. The staff —Ganga and Namrata were equally amazing, always attentive, polite, and going out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Their hospitality truly elevated the entire experience. We also had Santosh as our driver during the trip, and he was excellent — disciplined, reliable, and extremely professional. His safe driving on the winding hill roads gave us complete peace of mind, and he was always punctual and helpful. All in all, Heritage Bungalow No. 15 is a gem in the hills of Takdah. It’s not just a place to stay — it’s an experience filled with warmth, comfort, and genuine hospitality. We would love to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a luxurious property in Takdah. One can stay in either newly renovated old british bunglow or the newly build cottage. In both options you get specious room. From google images, I had an impression that those bunglow room might not be that specious but after I reached the property, I found it otherwise, those are truly huge. In winter season, you have option to fire the chimney in bunglow room. All the bathrooms are specious also which is rare in this region. Host and staff behaviour is very friendly and cooperative. They maintain proper higiene and serve delicious home made food. You may enjoy your tea anytime and many times and they will not complain. If you are not under the budget and ready to spare some extra bucks, you may choose this property and you will surely fall in love with this space.

The experience was good and somewhat different. Feels more like staying at another residence. The colonial architecture adds a nice feel to the stay. The view from this location is average. The best part is the lawn and mostly towards evening you can really enjoy the serenity around. The hospitality is good and the food as usual is above average. The must to be mentioned item would be the Aloo paratha at breakfast.

Visited last month with my family and my pet dog. It was an excellent and awesome stay. Our host Ramita ji and her staff behaviour is so cordial which can't be expressed in words. Foods were really homely and delicious. Just a cautious for travellers, do not compare the home stay with hotels. Anyways, in a nutshell "Away from home but feels like home" Thanks Ramitaji for your courteous hospitality !
