It was a wonderful experience. I stayed with my wife , the host is so warm and caring, it made our stay very, very comfortable. Swimming pool is available just 200 m away. Definitely recommended if you are and Mirik.

I have stayed at quite a few places during my travels, but very rarely does a place make you feel like you've found a second home. This homestay did exactly that. What was initially planned as a 2-day stay somehow turned into an entire week, and I honestly didn't want to leave. The property itself is spotless, well maintained and extremely comfortable. The rooms are clean, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the food deserves a special mention. Every meal was absolutely delicious, home-cooked, and made with genuine care. There were times when I had accidentally fallen asleep after a ride, only to wake up and find food and drinking water thoughtfully kept outside my room. It was these little gestures that spoke volumes. The biggest highlight, however, is Sir and Ma'am themselves. They don't just host you—they treat you like family. Sir went far beyond what any host is expected to do. He took me around the local markets, helped me get excellent deals on clothes, Darjeeling tea, and souvenirs without any tourist pricing, and patiently helped me plan my itinerary around Mirik. Every recommendation turned out to be worth it. He even accompanied me on early morning runs around Mirik, introduced me to a beautiful swimming pool that charged only a nominal fee, and shared countless stories about the history, people, and culture of the region. It's very clear how respected and well-known they are among the locals. As a solo rider exploring North Bengal, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. After long days on the motorcycle, it genuinely felt like coming home. The tariff was extremely reasonable, especially considering the warmth, hospitality, guidance, and care they provided throughout my stay. They never once made me feel like just another guest. If you're looking for luxury, there are plenty of hotels. But if you're looking for warmth, genuine hospitality, amazing food, local guidance, lifelong memories, and hosts who truly put the "home" in homestay, this is the place. This will be my first choice every single time I return to Mirik. Thank you, Sir and Ma'am, for making my trip unforgettable. I arrived as a guest and left feeling like family.

I recently stayed at Sungavan Homestay during a family trip, and it was a wonderful experience. The homestay is very comfortable, and the owner, especially his mother and whole family, was extremely kind, polite, and welcoming, making us feel at home throughout our stay. The location is also perfect, being close to the market, which makes it very convenient. One unique thing I loved was the view from the homestay where you can enjoy watching football matches being played down the hill. Overall, it was a memorable stay and I would highly recommend it.

Nicest experience

Amazing place! Netra the owner and his family are so nice! The room was clean and the place is renovated. Also, they took care of all the formalities for foringers which can be a little tricky in this area... Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at this homestay. The host was very warm and helpful. He guided us for our tour and talked about a lot of things. The vibe if the place was very warm and cozy. The whole family was very friendly and cheerfull. We would stringly recommend anyone travelling to mirik to choose them.

Honestly speaking, it’s a very good place to spend time and stay. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the owners behavior feels just like being at home. I’m very satisfied 😊

Very good service

Very bad and rude behaviour. I booked my stay and all off a sudden after many days they msg me to reschedule my dates. I told him that's not possible because tickets are already booked. Then they msg me to " please find your accomodation elsewhere". I am going with my senior citizens mom . It's very bad hosting. Please don't trust them.

The rooms are quite basic, equipped only with a bed—there are no hangers or wardrobes for storage. There is only one toilet shared between two rooms, which can be a bit inconvenient. However, one of the highlights is the large balcony, offering a nice space to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We stayed in several homestays, and overall, the food options were quite limited. For lunch, the typical meal included chicken and potato fry. Dinner was simple, usually consisting of a single egg curry with dal. Breakfast was minimal as well, with just two slices of bread and a cup of tea. Overall, while the stay offers simplicity and a pleasant balcony, the facilities and food variety are quite limited.
