Kunsang Homestay is a beautifully located retreat in the heart of Ramdhura, North Bengal. Nestled amidst nature’s serenity, it offers breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga right from your room. Sandhya, the gracious host, ensures impeccable hospitality that makes you want to return again and again. Adding to the warmth, Mr. Shouvik and Mr. Biswas are always ready to help, making your stay truly memorable.

We were a group of 4 adults and 1 child, and our stay at this homestay was overall a very pleasant experience. The room was clean and well maintained, and the bathroom was very good—hygienic and spacious. The hosts’ behaviour deserves a special mention: very warm, familiar, and welcoming. You genuinely feel at home here. Now, coming to the food. I’ll be honest—I was a little worried after reading a few Google reviews about the food. But what I realised is simple: if you are only comfortable with your own taste buds, village stays may not be for you. This is authentic village food, and that’s exactly what made it special. Lunch included rai saag, jeera aloo bhaja, egg curry, and dal—pure, organic flavours, very different from city food but absolutely tasty. Dinner had squash and aloo sabzi, chicken curry, and dal—all very good. And breakfast? Aloo parathas with chutney—just wow. We stayed in a 4-bedded room with a balcony. The view is beautiful, though unfortunately the weather wasn’t clear during our stay, so we couldn’t enjoy it fully. Still, the overall experience was very nice and satisfying. Would definitely recommend this place if you want a simple, authentic, and warm homestay experience.

We stayed at Ramdhura Kunsang Homestay with our family (10 people) and booked the entire property for 2 days, which included 4 rooms. The homestay is located in an area surrounded by many other hotels, so accessibility is not an issue. Rooms & Stay • One 4-bedded room had a very good view and the balcony view was excellent. • Two 3-bedded rooms: one had a decent view, the other was at the back side with no view—not cosy, but okay (not bad, not great). • One 2-bedded couple room had a good view. The washroom in the 4-bedded room was waterlogged, though overall the washrooms were usable. The view from the balcony and the 4-bedded room was really beautiful. We had almost 80% cloudy weather, which was purely luck, but the scenery was still enjoyable. Food Experience (Major Concern) To be honest, food was not tasty and also not sufficient considering a full-house family booking. The behaviour was professional, but it did not feel like a warm, typical homestay experience. Day 1 • Lunch: Rice, dal, alu bhaja, egg curry, papad — unfortunately, none of the items had good taste. • Snacks: Onion pakoras (4 pieces) — taste was okay. there was a small mismatch in pakoras counting, which created slight confusion since it was the first day, we ignored it. • Dinner: Chicken kosha & ruti — only 4 very small pieces of chicken was served per head, taste was not good. Day 2 • Breakfast: Puri & sabji — good taste 👍 • Lunch: Rice, dal, alu choka, omelette curry — taste was not good. • Snacks: Veg momos (5 pieces each) — very tasty, probably the best food we had here. • Dinner: Same chicken & ruti again — taste was very bad. Before checkout: Breakfast was paratha & sabji, but again there was a small mismatch in paratha counting, which created slight confusion. Facilities & Issues • Geysers: Only 3 out of 4 rooms can use hot water at the same time. • We had to carry drinking water ourselves from the kitchen to the rooms every time. • For hot drinking water, only 2 flasks were available initially. A 3rd was given on request, but since there were 4 rooms, we had to manage with our own flask. Final Verdict The views and location are good, and room sizes are fine for families. However, food quality, quantity, and overall homestay warmth need major improvement. It felt more like a professionally run stay, not a traditional homestay experience. With better food management, proper water arrangements, and attention to small details, this place can improve a lot. *And yes there is parking in front of the homestay*

A Truly Memorable Stay at Ramdhura Kunsang Homestay on 19th Nov & 20th Nov My experience at this homestay in Ramdura was nothing short of exceptional. The breathtaking view of Kanchenjunga right from the balcony and even the room made every moment feel magical. The surroundings are peaceful, offering the perfect escape for anyone looking to relax in the lap of nature. The snacks and meals were absolutely delicious, adding great comfort to the stay. The free Wi-Fi was a thoughtful addition, especially for staying connected without any hassle. Evenings here were mesmerizing, with a serene atmosphere that made the place feel even moreu special. With a reasonable price, this homestay is highly recommended for anyone seeking a refreshing break and beautiful memories.

The service at this homestay is very poor. I stayed here with my family last week, and despite having an inverter and geyser installed, neither was provided for use. There are many other homestays nearby that offer much better service. Another issue is that they initially advertise low prices, but later demand extra charges — for example, ₹500 per day for food for a 5-year-old child.

The view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking, offering stunning sights of the Kanchenjunga range. Both the snacks and meals were delicious, with the cabbage pakora in the evening being the crispiest and spiciest I’ve ever tasted. The free Wi-Fi was a nice addition. In the evening, we could see the entire stretch of Sikkim, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong clearly from our room and balcony, a truly mesmerizing experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in the lap of nature and create unforgettable memories.
