The hotel is steep down about 250 meters. Rooms and at basement. Congested and claustrophobic. Suffocating.

DukeRaj homestay turned into a second home for me, I had the most amazing time staying there, Lhakyi and her daughter are so kind and sweet, always giving me gifts and inviting me to hang out with them. They helped me to get around town, brought me for tea and coffee, and I was so lucky to celebrate Diwali festival with them. I can’t wait to be back to visit them, thank you so much :)

Hospitality by two ladies was excellent. Only problem is the location and room quality.

I do not recommend this place. I had a reservation through booking.com for a room with a mountain view. They had overbooked and put me in a damp, cold basement room instead. Within one afternoon, my suitcase and clothes were wet. That room clearly wasn’t meant to be used. I left after just four hours. The location is in narrow, rather dirty alleys. It's noisy because it’s too close to the city center. The decor is awful. They don't answer quickly in WhatsApp when we need. They answer when they want. 1 week before I asked to cancel it for free. They do not reply. And I know they saw my request.

DukeRaj Homestay in Darjeeling is an absolute gem! From the moment I arrived, Lhakyi Aunty welcomed me with such warmth and genuine care, it truly felt like coming home. For two wonderful days, she treated me like her own son, ensuring I had everything I needed and more. Her kindness and hospitality are simply unmatched. The rooms are cosy, impeccably clean, and so comfortable – a perfect haven after a day of exploring. The Wi-Fi was excellent, and the bathroom was great too. But the highlight was undoubtedly Aunty’s incredible home-cooked food! Every meal was a delight, bursting with flavour and prepared with so much love. And let's not forget her adorable dogs, who were always a joy to be around. My stay at DukeRaj Homestay was an unforgettable experience, and I'm already counting down the days until I can return to this wonderful place and Lhakyi Aunty's amazing hospitality. If you're looking for a home away from home in Darjeeling, look no further!

I came to this homestay to find refuge as a sick and weary traveler. The owner Lakhi took me in and cared for me as if I were her own son. I’m so grateful to have met such a wonderful person who showed kindness and compassion when I needed it most. I will always have a family in Darjeeling :) Also the room was very spacious and clean. Would recommend 100%
