Best homestay in darjeeling👍

Had a wonderful stay here in Darjeeling. The view is beautiful, the place is family-friendly and great for kids. Aunty and Deepesh were very cooperative and always ready to help, even arranging medicines when needed. It felt more like staying with family than at a homestay. Transportation and market access were also convenient. Highly recommended! 😊🏔️

Darjeeling trip ke dauran hamara stay Gangamaya Homestay me bahut hi accha raha. Room saaf-suthre aur comfortable hai, aur sabse khaas baat Kanchenjunga ka sundar view dekhne ko mila. House owner bahut hi friendly aur helpful hai, jis wajah se hume ghar jaisa mehsoos ho rha hai. Khana bhi tasty aur homemade hai. Shant environment, acchi hospitality aur reasonable price ke saath yeh homestay family aur couples dono ke liye perfect hai. Darjeeling aane wale sabhi travellers ko main is jagah ki zarur recommendation karungi. Yaadein hamesha yaad rahengi! 😊🏔️✨

Location of the homestay is awaybfrom Darjeeling mall. Rooms are clean and bathrooms are hygienic. Regular food and tea available in the Homestay. Behavior is very good. Kanchenjunga peak is visible from passage.

With our family of 5 (us + children of 11, 9 and 7) we stayed 4 night at Gangamaya. We liked the homestay a lot. The rooms were nice and clean. The view was great and host very welcoming and helpful. Location is slightly removed from the centre which we liked since it can get crowded with jeeps along the main road. Recommended!!

You should definitely give this a try. Dipesh and his mom are just wonderful hosts. The food isn't fancy but your gut and your soul will be very happy for it's nourishing and hygienic touch.

I had a very traumatic and unpleasant stay at gangamaya homestay On the night of 25th March 2026, someone tried to record us through the ventilation opening above our room door. The person appeared to be using a white iPhone (possibly iPhone 13 or 14). This was extremely disturbing and made us feel unsafe. When we informed the owner’s son, we found a phone that looked similar. However, the situation was handled very casually, and nothing serious came out of the questioning. During our stay, we were the only guests at the property, which made the situation even more concerning. This has been one of the most uncomfortable and frightening experiences I have ever had. I chose this place based on positive reviews and trusted the owner and their family, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a very distressing experience. While checking out, the owner also mentioned that a similar incident had happened about a year ago, which is even more alarming. I decided to check out early because I did not feel safe. I strongly advise others to be very careful before staying here.

Quite comfortable to stay with home prepared foods served ....well behaved family maintaining the homestay .

I feel very lucky who found Gangamaya Home-stay which created a great experience to my visit in Darjeeling. The owner is incredibly kind with great generosity and care, making sure that you feel like home. Assisting with bus booking, tips and local experiences, and an over-all open and friendly approach. The food was simple yet tasty and made with care, checking that I was satisfied and making small changes to exceed expectations. The location is a bit further away from the main road which to me was great as it brought a calm and peaceful vibe, still with a walking distance. The view over the mountain and valley is stunning. The rooms are clean, tidy and well-maintained. The facilities have everything that is needed for a pleasent and comfortable stay. I highly recommend this home-stay!

The owners were really helpful and humble towards the guests. Though the location is a bit far from the mall, but it's a great escape from the crowd and Chaos. Good for travellers with two wheelers. The food was Homely and the ambience is good for a weekend get away.

Never experienced such a warm and sweet stay anywhere in my life experience, the food, the comfort, the hygiene, the owner gesture and care towards everyone was so lovely. I would always recommend anyone who wants to visit Darjeeling and want a stay like their own home. Every penny is worth there✨ Will surely come again

I wasn't expecting this homestay to be so beautiful and amazing. Both owner the mother and son duo are really really lovely, friendly,and honest . The view of mighty mount kanchanjunga is really really good and heavenly.Early morning call from kanchanjunga even before waking up is something no one should miss... Highly recommend for everyone.☺️☺️
