Takdah Sambhala Heritage - Bungalow no3

Stayed in this serene mountain bungalow wrapped in clouds and it truly felt like a dream . Waking up to misty views, peaceful surroundings, and the quiet beauty of nature was simply magical. The room was cozy, clean and very comfortable — perfect for a relaxing stay. The overall ambiance made it even more special. Food was good, though there’s a little scope for improvement in quality. Other than that, everything was just perfect. A beautiful escape from the chaos. Would definitely recommend for a calm, soulful stay.

Excellent place to stay

Lovely Stay.. We had a lovely stay at this property. It was beautiful, serene and misty, surrounded by lush green pine and wildflowers. The service and food were excellent, and the owner was incredibly humble and cooperative. They even provided access to the kitchen so we could make food for our toddler. The only improvement was the roti – they use soda which makes the chapati more like naan. Key Highlight: Extremely photogenic place Best Wishes

Place and room is good but service and food is average. The service is pretty like govt employees no heartful welcoming not giving the feel of guest delight ay all when nowadays every small homestays and hotels are also taking care of guests satisfaction. They are just doing their job only

I recently visited Sambhala Heritage Bungalow with my family, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The place offers a very peaceful and relaxing stay, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The colonial style architecture of the rooms is elegant and well maintained, giving a charming vintage feel. The property has a big, beautiful lawn where you can sit, enjoy nature and spend quality time with friends and family. Everything was well organized and the overall ambience was calm and soothing. It’s a perfect destination for anyone looking for comfort, heritage and serenity in one place. Highly recommended for family trips and peaceful getaways.

What a wonderful experience we had, from the ambience to the room, from staff behaviour to the food and food quality it was excellent 👌 top notch, we had a great time and overwhelmed of Ravi ji's hospitality..

We stayed at Sambhala Heritage Bungalow during our trip to the Darjeeling hills, and it was a truly memorable experience! The bungalow itself feels like stepping back into a peaceful colonial era — beautiful wooden interiors, spacious rooms, and classic old-world charm surrounded by pine forests.  The location is incredibly serene, with misty mornings and stunning mountain views. It’s a lovely place to unwind if you want to escape city life and enjoy nature at its best.  The staff were cordial and helpful throughout our stay, and although food options nearby are limited and you generally eat what’s offered here, the meals were warm and homely. It’s worth planning ahead for meals. Perfect for small groups or families looking for a quiet, scenic getaway.

I would like to share my feedback and concerns regarding my recent stay at your property - Sambala ,Bunglow no 3 at Takdah from the date 17 to 19 October 2025 under the name of Mr Srijit Chowdhury and Mr Samit Das As per the package, the tariff was quite high, yet breakfast was not included, which was disappointing. We were informed upon arrival that the main cook was on leave, but this was not communicated in advance. The temporary arrangement made was not up to the mark, and the food quality reflected this. The quality of the food was poor, and there was very limited choice available during meals. However, I would like to add that the location and ambience of the property were excellent, and we truly appreciated that aspect of our stay. I hope you will take this feedback constructively and ensure better communication and food standards for future guests.

Sambhala heritage bungalow is located fantastically with with a great view, which you can keep staring all day, long. Rooms are authentic colonial types. Hospitality is great. Food overall was good however messed up the beer-b-queue. Should have a power generator keeping in mind the frequent power cuts in this region. The inverter in place was not sufficient to handle the load. Wish the staffs all the best. Chances are there I might revisit.
