Telescope Hill Homestay - Nokdara

I had a very wonderful experience in this lodge. The staffs were very helpful and supportive. They gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel like home. At the morning we were able to see views that was so magnificent. I would recommend everyone to come and visit this place which I personally found better than other hotels or lodge at this point.

Our stay at this homestay was truly wonderful. The scenic surroundings, cozy rooms, and delicious homemade food made the experience unforgettable. Everything was well taken care of, and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. A heartfelt thank you to Pawan Bhaiya for going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. He was always available whenever we needed anything and treated us like family. His kindness and hospitality were the highlight of our trip. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with genuine hospitality. We'll definitely be back!

Very good place. Pawan Ji is very good. Foods are mouthwatering.

I visited the place on February,2026 and stayed there for 2 nights. Location - It is situated in Nokdara an offbeat unexplored village in Kalimpong situated above 6000 ft between Lava and Lolegaon.The place is really quiet and peaceful with beautiful landscapes (valleys,mountains,rivers,lush green forests) with picterousque and serene views all over the place.If you are a peace lover like me and want to explore nature away from the hustling,bustling city life,this is the right place for you.It is one of the few places from where you can view the majestic Kanchenjunga if you are lucky. Nearby places to visit - Nokdara Lake,Gumbadara Buddhist monastery,Dubling view point,Rishop,Lava Monastery,Lava Forests,Lolegaon Park. Now coming to Telescope Hills Homestay here is my take. Pros - 1) The rooms are great, clean, well maintained, spacious and very much comfortable. 2) The view from the window sitting relaxed with a cup of tea on the bed and experiencing the view of the mountains was a breathtaking experience ❤️.I was unlucky as I couldn't witness the view of the majestic Kanchenjunga because of the foggy and cloudy weather.You can easily witness the view if the weather doesn't remain foggy. 3) The host Mr Pawan Chettry is just wonderful.He is co-operative,caring,friendly and above all a great person.He is a wonderful cook.He had a restaurant in Kolkata.Whatever food I wanted he just made for me.He made momo made of Atta.He voluntarily prepared Fried rice,Chilly chicken for dinner,Chicken Pakoras in the evening,authentic Bengali lunch with a touch of Nepali cuisine and prepared Chicken chowmin before my checkout on breakfast.It was fabolous.I just loved the hospitality and the local food cooked by him.All the vegetables are purely homegrown.They have there own plantation. I am feeling shortage of words to describe how amazing it was.It was faboulous.For all these he didn't charge a penny.He didn't acted professional but instead treated me like his family member but not as a guest.He single handedly took care of all this. Mr Pawan Chettry is 10/10❤️ It was because of the warm hospitality of Mr Pawan Chettry my experience reached to the next level. 4) The fire setup in the evening lighting the woods in order to warm ourselves was also a great exoerience since it was cold on February. 5) The dinning space is great,well maintained and from there I enjoyed eating while enjoying the beautiful view. 6) There is a view point named Shivadara View point and an abandoned Buddhist monastery above the property.The view provides an amazing view of the valleys from a bird's eye view.You can just walk for 5 minutes from the homestay and reach there. 7) It is very much budget friendly. Cons - 1) Only con is that the roads are not that smooth since this is an offbeat place.But work is going on.And hopefully this problem will be solved soon.There is off-roading for 4-5 kms.So drive carefully and reach before sunset. Conclusion - I highly recommend visiting this place with your friends,family or partner.It is budget friendly and my every experience apart from roads are really top notch.❤️🔥 You will fall in love with this place and will feel to come again and again.

He is an incredibly warm, simple, and kind-hearted person who makes you feel like family from the moment you arrive. His hospitality is heartfelt and genuine. He personally takes care of guests and ensures everything is comfortable and perfect. The rooms are clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The home-cooked food is delicious and feels just like eating at home — fresh, simple, and full of love. If you are planning to visit Kalimpong or Nokdara, I highly recommend staying at Telescope Hill Homestay. Words can’t express how I enjoyed being hosted by Pawanji in telescope Homestay.Firstly the view of full kanchanjunga range sitting right at ur room with a cup of tea is mind blowing,nxt comes the comfort given in ur room 24th hot water electric kettle with some exotic tea bags,extra blankets provided before hand,nice n clean room with awesome nature view. Secondly the food, the owner n the host Pawanji is a amazing cook himself,he owned restaurant in Kolkata before Covid.We had freshly grown veggies from his green house kitchen garden.Pawanji makes the most tasty momo.He is amazing personality who arranged a fireplace for us without asking made some amazing pakoras which we really did not ask for,so basically he wouldn’t make you feel away from home.His warm gesture is wonderful. Now comes the local points of Visit from this Homestay we visited Dubling n Xerong view point,lava view point n Kagyu Thekchen ling monastry(lava monastery),Lolegaon view point and Nokdara Gumbadara Monastery,Nokdara Lake,Durpin Monastery n Buddha Temple.One can visit all points with making Telescope Homestay as base point. Overall I will suggest all my friends n relatives who ever reading this message must must visit Telescope Homestay.

One of the best homestay to visit with your family.We were warmly welcomed by Mr Pawan Chettri,the owner of the homestay,very energetic and proactive person.The homestay is nestled among the pine trees with a breathtaking view of the Mighty KanchenDzonga.The food ,the rooms and the service is just great. I stayed at Telescope Hill Homestay, where I was greeted with a warm welcome, a cozy and comfortable room, exceptional hospitality, and delicious food. The host was genuinely kind and attentive, which made the stay even more memorable. The location of the homestay is simply perfect—nestled amid lush pine forests and just a ten-minutes walk from Nokdara Lake. From here, one can enjoy breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga, stunning sunsets, and a magnificent 360-degree panorama. Overall, it was an unforgettable and thoroughly delightful experience.

Telescopehill in Nokdara is an absolute gem! We planned a bike trip and stayed at our old friend Pawan bhaiya's homestay. Even though we took a wrong turn (oops!), Pawan bhaiya instantly came to guide us—talk about service! The vibe is fantastic: rustic, cozy, and with a cafe that has great decor and music. The food was delicious—hot Maggi on arrival, amazing desi chicken, and the juiciest momos! Felt like home away from home. Two days flew by in a snap. We left wishing we’d stayed longer. Can’t wait to go back! Huge thanks to Pawan bhaiya's for the warmth, the laughs, and the incredible hospitality. Highly recommended!

গত ২৩ শে অক্টোবর আমরা ৩ জন এখানে ছিলাম, অসাধারণ প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য, যা ভাষায় প্রকাশ করা যায় না। কোটেজ টাও বেশ সুন্দর ও পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন। খাবারের মানও যথেষ্ট ভালো। ভ্রমণ প্রেমীদের কাছে এই জায়গাটা স্বর্গ। সারাদিন নানা রকম পাখির ডাক একদম ফ্রি। এছাড়াও বিভিন্ন ধরণের প্রজাপতি দেখা যায়, আকাশ পরিষ্কার থাকলে হোমস্টে থেকে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘার ভিউও পাওয়া। হোমস্টের মালিক পবন ছেত্রীর আতিথেয়তা মনে রাখার মত।

The name is totally justified Telescope homestay as u will get the 360degree veiw of different mountains U can get such a clear view of our mighty Kanchanjunga which we got to see it was amazing..Many beautiful view spot are there…Now what i say about the owner Mr.Pawan Chettri he will make u feel home such a positive boy and a amazing cook and host…i have stayed in almost 25 to 30 homestay bt this is special ❤️me n my husband went there for one day bt his care n love made us to stay for three days what more to say those who love hills love peace then u have to come here n enjoy ur stay
