We spent four days at this homestay. The experience was super comfortable and something to cherish. The kind of welcome and hospitality that we received here in terms of arrangements, food and everything was just amazing. The ultimate bonus here of course is the owner himself Mr Dipesh ji - the nicest gentleman that one will ever come across. He genuinely became the host and our tour planner for us. Another thing that makes this homestay a brilliant staying option is the food - cooked fresh, great in taste and aroma, gives you the warm homely feeling and authentic vibes. For us the time spent here felt as good a gentle mellow sunshine during the winter. There are flowers all around, fishes in the pond and it even has a swing. Bonfires are arranged at the stay on request. We loved it here! Hope it's the same for others.

It's simply awesome. Had a nice experience.
I am writing this review on behalf of me and my middle aged mother. We visited Takdah two weeks back for two days and two nights. Our host Mr. Dipesh Katwal was very warm, welcoming and courteous and he and his staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable there in every way as possible. The room and bathroom were very nice and clean, there were proper amenities like electric blankets and jugs and glasses, a sofa and table, and so on. The food was homely and tasty, and the cookery department was expert and professional in cooking for us whatever we wanted. Mr. Katwal arranged for two treks for us in the morning and evening. He personally could not come with us in the morning owing to some engagements but he made sure we had a fun experience by sending one of his experienced staff with us. In the afternoon, he personally accompanied me on the trek through the village of Takdah and the adjoining area called Rongli. (my mother was tired and could not come in the afternoon). I saw a beautiful Radha-Krishna temple in the village and a monastery in Rongli. While returning, we met several other guests of the homestay who were bird-watching. We returned chatting and overall, it was a very nice and fun experience. Mr. Katwal is a good talker and can converse on a wide variety of topics, making him a very nice companion. He also arranged for a proper car with an experienced driver for our return back to Siliguri. The driver Abhishek was also nice and stayed with us for the whole time, till we boarded our bus back to Kolkata. Residing in the homestay was also a wonderful experience, since we could both relax in the comfort of our beautiful room and could also sit in the big balcony below where guests could enjoy themselves by singing and playing the jukebox. Eating lunch on the balcony below an umbrella was also a great and homely experience. Overall, this homestay has the potential to go a long way in the future and that too effortlessly since more than the amneities, it is the behaviour of the host and staff which matters the most, and on this, they will get full marks. I just have one minor suggestion to ensure that they perform even better in the future. It felt as if the staff sometimes felt a little overburdened with workload since it was a busy time and all the rooms were booked. Mr. Katwal could look into this matter a little carefully for the future. But overall, it was just a fastastic experience and I would recommend everyone to visit there, irrespective of whether they just want to relax or want to go on active tours and treks.

One of the oldest homestay in Darjeeling. Good location. Food was good
112 years old British built property in Takdah cantonment. It is a once in a lifetime experience to stay in such a luxurious house taking the full essence of this beauty.
It is more like a badly run hotel than homestay. Compared to number of guests accomodation, support service inadequate.
Geisure Not Works ❌
asked for a cab, and the fare was high. Acted as agents 😔
