I have been to 8 homestays in North Bengal till now. Rovers stay is by far the worst. Initially planned to stay at this place with my friends for 3 nights starting from 25th June, 2026. But got so disappointed, that we spent only one night and left on the very next morning. Room was not clean and not maintained at all, blankets were dirty, bathroom is dirty and extremely small, with almost no distance between the commode and the bathing area, making it very uncomfortable to use. Found a lump of female hair stuck in one of the corners. Also, the night we stayed here, we got only chicken bones in the name of chilly chicken. After having left this place, called the owner and shared the feedback. He didn’t even bother to provide a partial refund amount, given the fact that we have paid 50% of the entire amount in advance and stayed here for only 1 night. Worst experience in North Bengal till date. Special Note: There is a grave just in front of room we booked. Some people may not find it comfortable.

Recently we took service from ROVERS Homestay at Dawaipani as well as in hotel Mahakal Darjeeling they failed to keep their commitments also need to stay at Darjeeling hotel for additional 3 hours as they have not initiated any payment to the hotel person we failed to complete our side scenes for their unprofessional behavior. We total 8 people paid total 45 k for 3 nights 4 days its just wastage of money will not suggest anyone to take hotels from them. Its complete face loss and dignity loss in front of hotel persons .

Your Dawaipani property is too bad...not at all good for standard people... charging is too much according to the service... bathroom is not clean very untidy....not at all suitable for family.... kindly don't recommend this property to others. First repair it... maintain it and then start advertising.. Cleanliness -0 Food quality -0 Hospitality -0 Same review should be given in Google also... Very disheartened

I had more expectations from Rovers from what I had seen online but was very disappointed. Easily one of the worst homestays in the entire belt. The actual owner (non local) had done a lot of cost cutting in the way the rooms were made. No regard for customer comfort. The condition of the room I was given for 1400 per person was absolutely horrible. The wall beside the bed had a huge hole which was patched up with duct tape and cardboard. The floors were unplastered, damp with some thick bedsheets to cover them and had fungi growing from the cracks. The bathroom slipper was extremely worn out and was contributary to falls. The windows had badly put curtains, providing little to no privacy. No hooks or anything for keeping/ hanging your clothes. The blankets were dirty with their ends torn. There were multiple giant spiders in the crevice between the bed and the wall. If you are a sucker for a tramp like holiday, maybe you should go to Rovers. The food was okay. Atleast the main caretaker guy was kind enough to help us carry our luggage. We regretted booking this stay the moment we entered the room. You cannot feel relaxed in a room like that.

The homestay offers 3 rooms ( one with glass walls in front on the first floor) with good view of kanchenjunga. There are plenty of trees and the mornings are filled with bird calls. But maintanence is low. One of the rooms we were in had malfunctioning geyser which is an absolute necessity due to the cold weather. Another room had a torn blanket. Still, as there were surpluses we managed. Another issue is the stairs. There are a lot of stairs so that may be an issue with the elderly and those with knee problems. There are powercuts too. It is better if necessities are carried as there are no nearby shops or outlets for them. For view of kanchenjunga.. there are other better options.

Had a wonderful stay at Roverse Homestay. Behavior of Suman Da and his family was extremely warm and welcoming, making us feel completely at home. The food was outstanding—both in taste and quantity. The rooms were very clean and all basic amenities were available at all times. The balcony also offers a beautiful view. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and homely stay😊

This homestay offers a truly mesmerizing view of Kanchenjunga, making every morning and evening unforgettable. Watching the snow-capped peaks glow in different shades is a magical experience. The rooms are clean, cozy, and comfortable, creating a perfect space to relax. What stands out most is the amicable and warm hosting. The hosts are kind, caring, and make you feel completely at home. We stayed here and their hospitality is amazing. The rooms are great and one can see Kanchanjunga range directly from the bed. Their foods are homely and great in taste. Everything is amazing. I am recommending to come here and enjoy your recreation.

The food was good and truly tasty, and we received a warm and welcoming hospitality. However, the accommodation was disappointing. The door locks were broken, the washrooms were not that clean, and the stairs collapsed when stepped on.

Awesome view from room of Mt. Kanchenjunga et al, if weather is clear. Basic homestay with very good food. Room 2,3&4 have direct views. Balconies are good. Service is not very good. We had to carry up own luggages from street to room and back down from room to street.

An extraordinary place. It felt like getting lost in another world. My eyes were filled with the breathtaking beauty of nature. Stunning views unfolded before my eyes at every moment. It truly felt like a different universe. We spent a few days in an amazing, almost dreamlike experience. Just by opening our eyes, there stood Kanchenjunga in front of us. All around, there was deep silence, broken only at times by the soft call of crickets. The quiet, still nights brought with them a magical view—thousands of lights from the mountain town below twinkling like fireflies. It looked like a mountain studded with stars. And how could I not mention Suman, Nitu, and Purnima? Their warm and loving behavior made this experience even more special. When we reached there, we asked Suman where we could see Kanchenjunga from. He simply said, "Once you see it, you won’t need to look for it anymore." And he was right—when we woke up in the morning and opened the window, there it was, slowly appearing before our eyes. Rover’s Stay Home Stay is the perfect place to spend a few peaceful days away from Kolkata. And the food—simply incredible. I never imagined I would get such delicious and unique meals in the hills. I’ve visited the mountains many times, but I’ve never experienced hospitality like this before. Rover’s Stay set a new standard. I truly want to go back again. Thank you, Sougata da, for gifting us such a beautiful homestay. Thank you, Suman, Nitu, and Purnima.

A must recommendable place to stay in Dawaipani . It has a great ambience and view. We have received a warm welcome😁. I specially thanks to the whole team and Mr Sougata for not only guiding us but also helping us like a family member. Its a very much safe place and I highly recommend to all female travellers as well. The food was amazing and they make us feel like our homes 🥰. We enjoyed the view of kanchenjunga with a cup of coffee in the morning . I will again visit this place for a peace vacation. Thank you again.
