Officially recognized as one of the best homestays in the Darjeeling district by the Government of West Bengal, a title earned out of approximately 300 contenders in 2023, thus needs no introduction! Stepping inside the property feels like walking into a scene from a Disney movie, it is a literal treehouse that offers breathtaking views of Mt. Kanchenjunga from the window. The woodcraft is stunning, and the property is enveloped in lush greenery. It is run by brother-sister duo, Ms.Pritinsha Syangden and Mr.Nima Syangden. They are the family I didn't know I had.

Our stay at Merik Tree House was truly a memorable experience for our family. The location is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature, greenery, and peaceful mountain vibes which made the stay very relaxing and refreshing. The owner was extremely warm, humble, and helpful throughout our stay. Their hospitality made us feel completely at home and they took special care of our family and kids. The food served was fresh, tasty, and homely. Every meal felt well prepared with care, and we especially enjoyed having warm food in such a scenic environment. The best part was seeing how much our kids enjoyed staying in the tree house. They were excited all the time, loved the unique experience, and kept talking about it even after returning. The stay gave them wonderful memories close to nature. I would recommended for families and anyone looking to enjoy nature with great hospitality.

Our stay at the treehouse was truly a wonderful experience. Away from the hustle and bustle of the hills during peak tourist season, the treehouse offered a sense of comfort, peace and quiet. The food was absolutely delicious, the hosts very kind and with the cutest cats and dogs around, our stay was all the more perfect.

I bet you will never forget this place ever in life. Soothe of home cooked food in a unique Tree house. Away in the hills in fig and greens, I could compare this with only a dreamland. Strongly recommend, it is a MUST MUST VISIT place👍

Mirik treehouse is just like a fairy tale home stay. The garden around is mesmerizing. It is a small, cosy, very tastefully decorated treehouse amidst the jungle. If the sky is clear you will be lucky enough to view mighty Kanchenjunga from the room. The home cooked food is amazing. The warmth and hospitality you get will be the treasure to remember always.

A Masterclass in Hosting and a Culinary Dream!!! We spent two nights at this incredible treehouse in Mirik, and it was the absolute highlight of our trip. You can tell that Uncle has poured his heart and soul into this place; the craftsmanship and planning that went into the treehouse are evident in every corner. A massive salute to Nima, who is an extraordinary cook. Honestly, he spoiled us! We tried several famous eateries in Darjeeling afterward, but nothing could compete with Nima’s momos and thukpa. Our daughters were in heaven "hanging out" with Franky and his mother (the resident cats), which made the stay even more special for the kids. Beyond the property itself, the hosting was a true masterclass. From the fascinating stories of rescued dogs to the invaluable help with shopping tips and travel routes, Pritinisha made us feel like family. Having her company during meals was the cherry on top. If you’re looking for an authentic, warm, and delicious stay, this is it!

Pritinisha and her brother Nima were so welcoming from the moment we arrived. A huge shoutout to the uncle and aunty as well; they are such jolly, kind-hearted people who made us feel right at home. ​If you’re an animal lover, you’ll be in heaven.
