Subhajit Dam
The worst experience one could ever have. The hotel is located at an uphill which is 1.2km from the standard taxi stand. None of the driver agrees to go further, and even it does, they charge you atleast 400rs for that, also that is conditional if the police agrees to let you climb. And, as no car is allowed to reach the hotel, so you've to make a walk through that 1.2km with luggage, also remember it's a hilly region, so the inclination is what makes you regret the booking. So, connectivity is none to this hotel. Amenities- The minimum urge that one could/should expect from any hotel in Darjeeling is warmth at the hotel room, which is none at Viramma. There is no geyser that works, because of which we had to switch between bathrooms. One has to make way with running cold water at 4-5°C. The rooms are colder than outside temperature. When you complaint about it, they dupe you with a heater that charges 50rs/hr and that too does not work. The room that we stayed in had a direct fancy wooden roof and structured room above it, so there is absolutely no privacy. Noises, hoots, and continuous stomping is what makes your sleep no less than a nightmare. The only reason we had to go through this troublesome experience is we booked this hotel via airbnb and paid the money which was not refundable. If I think harder, one particular room of Viramma has a beautiful view of the mountain ranges and one can enjoy the sunrise which I believe is the same for numerous hotels in and around Darjeeling with less than half of the troubles/challenges that we had to face. **Not at all recommended**
