Sittong- Sherpa’S Sunrise Homestay

The owner and driver of this homestay were terrible. They mislead us and not only that the driver was literally threatening us.

This review in 3 laguages. বাংলা - English - हिन्दी শেরপাস সানরাইজ হোমস্টেতে যাওয়াটা খুবই অ্যাডভেঞ্চারাস হবে ফর সিওর, একদম অফ-রোড ট্র্যাকিংয়ের এক্সপেরিয়েন্স দেবে। এখানকার ভিউ দারুণ, আর রুম থেকে শুরু করে বাকি সবকিছুই বেশ ক্লিন। তবে খাবারদাবার এবং অন্যান্য জিনিসপত্র খুব কস্টলি। আমরা সব বাঙালি বন্ধুরা মিলে গিয়েছিলাম। দুপুরের ডিমের ঝোল ঠিকঠাক ছিল, কিন্তু রাতের ভাতের পরিমাণ এবং মাংসের ঝোল খুব খারাপ হয়েছিল। ২০ টাকার জলের বোতল ৪০ টাকা এবং ৩৫ টাকার কোল্ড ড্রিংকস ৬০ টাকা নেওয়া হয়েছে। হার্ড ড্রিংকস, সিগারেট এবং স্ন্যাক্স আইটেমও খুব এক্সপেনসিভ। তাই সম্ভব হলে এই সমস্ত জিনিসপত্র সবাই বাইরে থেকে সাথে করে নিয়ে যেও। তবে এখানকার লোকজনের ব্যবহার বেশ ভালো। Going to Sherpas Sunrise Homestay will definitely be highly adventurous and will surely give you an off-road trekking experience. The view is amazing, and the rooms along with everything else are quite clean. However, the food and other items are very costly. We went there as a group of Bengali friends. The egg curry for lunch was okay, but the quantity of rice and the quality of the chicken/meat curry at dinner were extremely poor. They charge ₹40 for ₹20 water bottles and ₹60 for ₹35 cold drinks. Hard drinks, cigarettes, and snacks are also very expensive. If possible, I would recommend everyone to carry these items with you. On the positive side, the behavior of the staff/people there is very good. शेरपास सनराइज होमस्टे (Sherpas Sunrise Homestay) जाना वाकई में बहुत एडवेंचरस होगा, यह आपको बिल्कुल ऑफ-रोड ट्रेकिंग का एक्सपीरियंस देगा। यहाँ का व्यू बहुत शानदार है और कमरे समेत बाकी सब कुछ काफी क्लीन है। लेकिन यहाँ का खाना और बाकी चीजें बहुत कॉस्टली हैं। हम सभी बंगाली दोस्त मिलकर वहाँ गए थे। दोपहर का अंडे का झोल (एग करी) तो ठीक-ठाक था, लेकिन रात के चावल की क्वांटिटी और चिकन/मटन का झोल बहुत ही खराब था। 20 रुपये का पानी 40 रुपये में और 35 रुपये की कोल्ड ड्रिंक 60 रुपये में दी जा रही है। हार्ड ड्रिंक्स, सिगरेट और स्नैक्स आइटम्स भी बहुत एक्सपेंसिव हैं। अगर पॉसिबल हो, तो आप सब ये सारी चीजें बाहर से अपने साथ ही लेकर जाएं। वैसे यहाँ के लोगों का बर्ताव काफी अच्छा है।

Location is very good, stunning view But, Rooms are not cleaned, you can see big size Spiders hanging here and there....Food quality and qty is not good at all. For Location I am giving 3 star else I would give 1 star.

The only positive thing about this homestay is the workers/cook. The owner in not only absent, we were entirely misled about the weather situation, he tried to charge extra money for no fault of our own, overall his behaviour was extremely rude and condescending, and in addition he was completely unaware about anything going on in his own property. The rooms are average, transportation almost non-existent. I will not recommend anyone to stay in this homestay.. besides, the location is remote and roads are in poor condition (I don't blame these on him, but don't see why this homestay deserves a good rating despite all that and added bad behaviour).. Kanchenjunga view is exclusive, but not THAT EXCLUSIVE to endure such rude attitude.. পাহাড়ের usual আতিথেয়তা, বা আপ্যায়ন আশা করে এখানে গেলে হতাশ হবেন.. homestay owner এর শুধু বাজে ব্যবহারই না, ওনাকে weather এর ব্যাপারে জিজ্ঞেস করে যাওয়া সত্ত্বেও উনি mislead করেছেন। গাড়ি provide করতে পারেননি, উল্টে গাড়ির advance টাকা নিয়ে ঝামেলা করেছেন। ওনার কথার ধরন অত্যন্ত rude এবং উনি নিজের homestay তে কী চলছে টা নিয়ে একদমই ওয়াকিবহাল নন। একমাত্র রাঁধুনি দাদাদের ব্যবহার ও রান্না বাদে এই homestay তে কোনো positive aspect নেই..

Sherpa Sunrise Homestay is located in Upper Sittong, surrounded by pristine forest and serene mountains. The approach roads in Sittong are not in very good condition, with several sharp hairpin bends and bumpy stretches. If you are driving or riding your own car or bike, it’s important to keep this in mind before planning your journey. The homestay offers a beautiful view of the surrounding hills, and on a clear day, a distant glimpse of the Teesta River can be seen. From the second-floor balcony, Kanchenjunga is also visible when the sky is clear. However, the complete Sleeping Buddha range is not fully visible, as a nearby hill partially obstructs the view. We stayed on the second floor in a four-bedded room. The room was fairly spacious, and was well maintained. The beds, bed sheets, and pillows were all clean and comfortable. An electric kettle was provided as part of the amenities. The bathroom was cozy, clean, and equipped with a geyser, which was quite convenient. The main highlight of the homestay is the balcony. One can easily spend hours sitting there, soaking in the calm mountain views and fresh air. For nature lovers seeking peace and tranquility, this place can be very fulfilling, provided the number of guests in other rooms is minimal. While the homestay offers a peaceful atmosphere, loud and noisy tourists can sometimes disturb the tranquility. The food served was simple, with a clear homemade touch, which added to the overall comfort of the stay. At the entrance, a large Buddha statue and a traditional jop jontro create a calm and sacred ambiance. The homestay is originally owned by a Sherpa family. However, the primary point of contact and the person managing daily operations appears to be a Bengali gentleman. Overall, Sherpa Sunrise Homestay is a good choice for travelers who value nature, views, and a peaceful mountain experience.

I think this is most beautiful place in Sittong. Quiet, Elegant and Spectacular.

Road very bad

Location was too bad no communication car or bike couldn't go at the homestay bcz road is not available ohh sry it's doesn't road only stone is available

The location of this homestay is very good.. but stuff behaviour is not satisfying me. Wherever I go our driver's food is free but they are not provided it. They committed for bonfire and barbecue but not are provided. The charges of bonfire is 500/- The food is average... There is no generator or inverter.

We decided to celebrate Christmas at this place so we came from Darjeeling.. and trust me that was the worst decision ever!!small room, bed was also not appropriate for 4 person, bad smell was coming from blanket and pillows.. food was not up to the mark.. and staff were also fully drunk.. road conditions is very poor.. I felt nothing positive at this place.. total disappointment 😞

Cons first 1. The road is NOT shown on Google, you have to ask about the way to homestay. Also there are a lot of bad roads. 2. Own car advice- bring a car with minimum 1.2 liter (non turbo would suffice). We brought our own fronx. You wound need the power badly as the road is too steep in many parts of sittong. 3. Rooms- they have lot of wooden furnishings, so a damp smell can be felt. 4. Jio works but airtel doesn't. However they provide wifi Pros 1. The view is amazing, you can see the sunrise as well as light dotted landscape at night. 2. This place lies between kurseong and sittong so you can visit both places with ease. 3. Bonfire is available @ 500 rupees. 4. The place is calm.

This is one of the place which will remain etched in my mind forever , there is a beautiful greenery all around ,at the morning time, I seeing the view is again an another world phenomenon within itself, Fresh air and with that the sound of the birds chirping made it more memorable . The rooms are neat and clean. Now talking about their foods, not only the quality but also quantity have been maintained pretty well. The behaviour of the owner is very kind and Other staffs working there is very very good and helpful also.This is one of those moments which you cannot capture in a camera
