Latpanchar is truly a birder’s paradise, and this is a great place to stay when visiting. We have stayed here three times, and every visit has been wonderful. Sabir and Sangita truly make you feel at home with their warm hospitality. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the food served is delicious and homely. Sabir is also an excellent birding guide, making the experience even more special for nature lovers.

Latpanchar is a heaven for bird watching and bird photography. One can find exotic bird like Rufous hornbill, Red headed trogon, Saffire flycatcher, little pied flycatcher ,Gorgeoted flycatcher, snowy brow flycatcher, black headed bulbul, Small niltava, Himalayan short wing, grey bellied tinea etc. Best season is November to March.

Latpanchar is widely known as a birder’s paradise, and the king of Latpanchar, the Hornbill, is one of its greatest attractions. Birders from different places visit this region hoping to catch a glimpse of this magnificent bird. Among the few homestays available in the area, Latpanchar Homestay run by Sabir and Sangita Subba stands out as one of the best. The homestay offers multiple rooms; we stayed in a four-bedded room. While the room was a bit cozy, it was clean and well maintained. Fresh bedsheets, pillows, and blankets were provided. The washroom was small but functional, with a geyser available for hot water. During our stay, there was a power supply interruption due to maintenance work. However, the Subba family ensured generator backup after sundown, which made things comfortable. The food served was simple yet delicious and homely. A special mention goes to Sabir bhai, who is an experienced birder himself and also works as a guide for those interested in birding around Latpanchar. Adding to the charm were two adorable doggos, Jack and the beagle, who made our stay even more enjoyable. The warm and welcoming behavior of the hosts, Sabir and Sangita, truly made us feel at home. Point to note: Network connectivity is limited, Jio works well, Airtel is available occasionally, and Vi does not work in this area. Overall, a wonderful stay for nature lovers and birding enthusiasts.
