We spent 2 lovely nights at Saino The Heritage Bungalow No. 3 during our North Bengal trip last week. It was a cozy and comfortable stay with a wonderful old British bungalow vibe. The hosts were very welcoming, and the food was delicious. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the heritage charm. Highly recommended! 😊

Recently we visited the place.Located away from all noise and crowd ,you can enjoy amazing nature around. It is a L shaped building..one wing ( Ground floor) ..rooms are very small and damp..and if it rains even carpet is wet. Linen maintenance is not good at all..we had to change pillows with black marks and old smell. Other wing with bigger rooms are 4 bedroom and owners residence. Staff were very decent and helful Food was good and simple Knowing all facts,if you want to book ..do direct booking With all terms and conditions in writing

Heritage Bungalow No. 3 (A Step Back in Time) Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) Bungalow No. 3 in Takdah offers an incredibly unique and tranquil heritage stay. This colonial structure, dating back to the British cantonment era (around 1905–1915), perfectly captures the old-world charm that Takdah is famous for. The rooms are spacious, featuring high ceilings and traditional colonial decor. We especially appreciated the option of the suite rooms, which come with a cozy fireplace—an absolute necessity during chilly evenings in the hills. The setting is very peaceful, surrounded by serene tea gardens and dense pine forest, truly justifying Takdah’s name (meaning 'mist' or 'fog'). The food is delicious and homely, adding to the comfortable experience. While the overall heritage feel and tranquility are five-star, the specific services and modernization sometimes lag slightly compared to newer properties (hence the 4-star rating). If you are a history buff or looking for a quiet, secluded, and atmospheric retreat where you can unwind and explore the tea gardens and local villages, Bungalow No. 3 is highly recommended.

I,along with my family stayed at Saino Bungalow No 3 recently, and would say the service and hospitality were truly top-notch — the staff was warm, attentive, and always ready to help. The location is also excellent, offering a peaceful and convenient setting. However, I did feel the room could have been better maintained and didn’t quite match the standard set by the service and surroundings. Overall, a pleasant stay, but I believe there’s room for improvement when it comes to the accommodation itself.

We recently enjoyed this awesome place for 1 night & 2 days. Frankly speaking,if you like a calm & quite place with some historical feelings then you come here with at least another one family & then just enjoy the nature. Enjoy the calmness of nature. It is not a place to sing a song or to do a dance. Just listen the nature's song & see the nature. Service, owner, hospitality all are so nice. I love you all from my heart ❤️.

Mr. Anand Moktan & others are very nice persons. Rooms were clean, meals were less spicy but good in taste. Garden is well decorated. Enjoyed a lot. Highly recommend for all age groups. Only one con is that If they provide shampoo and soap that would be complete. Thankyou.

This was our 2nd visit in as many years. Place is newly renovated 3 months ago. Location and its ambience is a piece of heaven. Quiet location with birds chirping, mystical hills, sea of clouds just below the homestay and a quaint monastery just above the homestay, makes it a soul soothing experience. When you want to take a stroll, you have accompany of a forest of Pines. Takdah as a place is also far removed from any hustle and is a very laid back himalayan village. Witing about it made me make up my mind to visit it again.

Especially the food quality of the homestay was very healthy and lite. Credit goes to Mrs. Moktan, Mr. Niran and Mr. Anand Moktan. It is very hard to find this type of quality of food outside home. Thanks again.
