We had a very pleasant stay in this property. Food was awesome as well as service. Only drawback is frequent power cuts and too many insects since it is covered by dense tea gardens. Location is perfect for a quiet peaceful stay overlooking the beauty of tea gardens. Overall it was a very good experience and we suggest this place for a short holiday trip. They prepared every food we requested for in adequate quantity and cooks were also very skillful. Price range was very reasonable compared to the luxury stay.

Our family recently stayed at Forestea Homestays in Rangli Rangliot Tea Garden, and it was truly one of the most memorable trips we've had. The property is beautifully located amidst lush tea gardens, offering breathtaking views and a sense of peace that's hard to find elsewhere. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations from the warm hospitality and comfortable rooms to the delicious homestyle food. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. A big thank you to the hosts for making us feel so welcome and at home. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, Forestea Homestays is a perfect choice. We left with wonderful memories and would love to visit again in the future.

Recently, some of our travel plans went haywire and I had to cancel a particular trip twice - first time postpone and the second time cancel. However, other accomodations were happy enough to further hold our booking until October and some cancelled it by refunding. However, I am extremely disappointed with the way Fores-Tea Homestays handled my situation. I had to cancel my stay twice due to unavoidable circumstances—first because of the election/voting situation, and second due to an unprecedented personal family emergency. Despite clearly explaining both situations and requesting a postponement (not a refund), the homestay refused any flexibility. What was more disturbing was that I was charged ₹3,800 (the full amount for one night) as a penalty, with no willingness to accommodate or even discuss alternative dates. On top of that, the communication from the property was rude, sharp, and unprofessional, with an unnecessarily harsh and over‑toned attitude during conversations. Emergencies are not choices. As a customer, I expected at least basic empathy and respectful communication—neither of which was shown here. Sharing this so future guests are fully aware of how situations like genuine emergencies are handled. Hospitality is not just about rooms; it’s also about how guests are treated when things don’t go as planned.

We had an amazing stay and will definitely return. The views, hospitality, and food were all outstanding. We visited in April 2026 for two nights with a family of 9 (age 3 to 73), and honestly had no complaints. The view is breathtaking, and the chef truly stands out. Every dish was delicious. We had just come from a luxury stay at Elgin Darjeeling and expected this to fall short, but we ended up loving this even more. We were initially worried about power cuts after reading reviews, and there was one on our first night from 8 pm to 7 am, probably coz of the thunderstorm that night, but the backup lighting was enough to manage. Given the secluded location, it’s understandable, and luckily it didn’t happen again. Though it’s a homestay, it offers all the basic comforts of a good hotel. The staff is warm and always smiling, especially the three girls who handled all our requests so easily. The night staff even made chicken momos for us on request that gave Kunga's momos in Darjeeling a tough competition. A special mention to the chef not just for the figer-licking food but also for sharing stories from his life. Wishing him great success in life. Don’t miss meeting the three cats and two friendly dogs next door. They’ll even join you on morning walks, and if you’re lucky, you’ll see clouds floating below you in the valley. Loved everything, the place, the people, the vibe, and Runglee. Ratings Food: 5/5 View: 5/5 Hospitality: 5/5 Cleanliness: 4.5/5 Overall experience: 5/5

1. Nestled in the serene surroundings of Rongli Rongliot Tea Garden, this homestay is a hidden gem for anyone looking to unwind in the lap of nature. 2. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and genuine kindness that instantly made us feel at home. 3. The beauty of the surrounding tea gardens is truly mesmerizing. Waking up to endless stretches of lush green plantations covered in morning mist felt like stepping into a postcard. 4. The calm atmosphere, fresh mountain air, and soothing sounds of nature make this place perfect for a peaceful getaway. 5. The staff service was excellent throughout our stay. They were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed, making the experience even more comfortable and enjoyable. 6. One of the highlights of the stay was the breathtaking view from the room. Watching the sun rise over the rolling tea gardens and distant hills was unforgettable. Every moment spent on the balcony felt magical. 7. Overall, this homestay is a wonderful place to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the region! 8. Parking is not available as this property is located downhill from the main road.

Three People from Bihar. February 2026 :I wish I could give 6 out of 5 star. This is high-end luxury homestay at price of average ones. The homestayn is inside tea garden, view like no other homestay. I was mesmerized by the view from their common balcony. Garden sitting space to enjoy mountain view. Carrom-board area. Highly Clean. Staff : Highly friendly and polite. Rupesh Ji is very polite. Food : Excellent Quality at affordable price (Rs. 500 for dinner of three). They did not misuse their monopoly. No restaurants nearby. Only village Kirana shops and a momo stall. Connectivity : Bad. You rely on private hired taxi as this is offbeat. 1500-2300 drop to darjeeling/NJP. Network : Faster than cities 5G. Wifi available. Your plan : Take walks in tea garden for full day, go to nearby Rangli village, it's Shiv Mandir. You may get bored after one day, if you are alone. Peacocks and mountain dogs in the garden.

The main attraction of this property is the setting in a working tea estate although te “homestay” has nothing to do with the tea gardens. Even the two teabags left in the room are cheap Assam tea bags! I deduced they have not made any partnership with thei tea garden management to promote the very product that brings them customers. The lodging is less of a Homestay and more of a repurposed hotel that was sold off! The rooms are adequate with a large king bed but lack upkeep and maintenance compared to other home stays we experienced on the strip. Case n point, the bathroom was so neglected that although hot water was available, the circular control lever for the shower broke off immediately. So I was reduced to the medieval method of banking first hi water snd then cold from the tap until the temp was tolerable and then using a mug to pour water on myself. Needless to say, after two such pedantic bucket refills, I was too tired to pursue my bathing any further and had minimum use of water. Similarly, the toilet seat is completely broken and placed on the bowl in a precarious fashion. Unacceptable for the higher end Homestay rates they are charging. So a huge reason that people go to a Homestay, was not functional! So the place gives off an air of deteriorating building that they are trying to patch incrementally. The food was adequate and mild but not anything to write home about. The costs are reasonable for food. The front desk receptionist is rather lazy and unhelpful. She would not accept a PAN card asa method if ID even though every other Homestay on this trip has accepted that as my id for registration. What is more, after giving her my passport, she snapped pictures of my confidential details on her mobile phone along with many other customers. That is a huge security risk as I have no idea whether she will share it with inappropriate people, They seem unprepared to run a thriving business as they would not even invest in a photocopy machine and a paper shredder- both cheap durable goods that would put guests’ minds at ease. Furthermore, upon request we were shown a very tattered menu and not informed that there is a meal package including breakfast lunch and dinner for 70 rupees ( cheaper than these la carts with practically the same food items). This hotel is run on the cheap labor of a few Nepali locals who are forced to be able” jack of all trades”- now hauling the customers’ bags, now making three meals for customers and Nike functioning as erstwhile plumbers and repair men!!! I would hazard a guess that these staff are not well compensated although they keep the boat afloat. Myvintention on sending this review is that the necessary upgrades will be made to improve basic amenities at this hotel. I think it’s ok for a very short stay. I probably would not choose this “HomeStay” again.

What an experience staying there. A place where you get up just to see the view from your bed. You'll only see tea gardens wherever you look. Good rooms. Good food. The best view. The best hotel of Rungli. Only thing is , it's not a homestay. It's a hotel.
