I'll keep it as detailed as possible since the other reviews feel incomplete or sugarcoated and could be misleading. I'll start with the pain points: 1. The location is a major con. It is not far from the center of Mall Road (20-25 minutes walk) but most cars and cabs avoid travelling on this route because it's steep. You'll have great difficulty planning trips. With no proper landmark, you'll likely always need to connect the cab driver to Mrs. Neelam or someone local who can guide them to the homestay. 2. The images show that the rooms have electric kettle and tea/coffee sachets. But I found none in the room. When I asked the owner - Mrs. Neelam about it, she casually responded they will provide flasks and don't provide electric kettles after some customers left the kettles on. Long story short, if you like the flexibility of being avoid to make your own tea when enjoying a holiday, you can say goodbye to that. 3. We went during winter and the cold is unbearable. The homestay doesn't have a complimentary heater. You need to pay for it. That paired with the recent construction - there's practically no insulation. The rooms are extremely cold, the geyser takes 40 minutes to heat up 10L of water. The main basin tap and WC faucet don't have hot water connection. Only the shower and faucet do. So casual handwashing and cleaning after the loo are going to be extremely uncomfortable - maybe even unbearable. Now coming to the positives. Healthy and tasty breakfasts. Welcoming people. Good pricing. Availability. And most importantly, breathtaking view from the room. Would definitely want to go back again if the kettles and heating is arranged for.
