I stayed here with eight of my brothers, and what stood out wasn't just the comfortable stay—it was the warmth and kindness of the owner, who made us feel less like guests and more like family. Throughout our visit, he was incredibly accommodating and patient.
One night, we returned around 1:00 AM, only to head back out again to spend time with friends. We told him not to expect us before breakfast, and he simply smiled and wished us a good time. Due to unexpected circumstances, we ended up returning at nearly 4:00 AM instead. Despite the hour, he opened the gate with a smile, greeted us warmly, and his first question wasn't about the inconvenience—it was, "Did you have fun?" That small gesture spoke volumes about the kind of person he is.
It's rare to come across hosts who offer such effortless generosity and genuine care. Nawang Homestay isn't just a place to sleep; it's a place where you're treated with warmth, respect, and heartfelt hospitality. If you're planning a trip to Darjeeling and want an experience that feels personal rather than transactional, I couldn't recommend this homestay more highly.

Must visit.But not recommended for elderly people because of uphill location. But without being atop you cannot see the heaven below.
This is by far one of the best homestays in Darjeeling. The couple who hosted us are full of life and gave us such a warm welcome. One day my mother fell sick and couldn't join is for the daily activity and the host served us complimentary home made tea. They will make you feel like family but also respect your privacy.
All major touchpoints such as the Hope cafe, Mall road and the Zoo are at a walking distance. The room we stayed in was so aesthetic and has a private balcony with a breathtaking view. The homestay is hygienic and absolutely safe for solo/female travellers.
First of all, the service was excellent. The owner and his wife are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The food is delicious and has a truly homely touch. The homestay is also conveniently located very close to Mall Road, making it easy to explore Darjeeling. Highly recommended—this is a must-stay place when visiting Darjeeling!

The location was convenient, quiet, and had a very homely atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic stay experience in Darjeeling!

A beautiful pent house with direct views of kanchenjunga. We stayed for 3 days and got to see beautiful sunrise views right from our bed!! The heated blanket was a saviour in the cold 🤍🤍. The hosts were very friendly and prepared a hot dinner for us on our arrival!! We chatted about everything under the sun and shared recepies.

Friendly host. Gave good local recommendations and help book cab back to the airport. Room was cozy. Balcony was nice to have with good views. Heated mattress was a much welcomed convenience with the chilly weather.

Our stay at Ngawang Homestay was truly heart-warming and unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with so much love and care. Loden’s mom made us feel at home immediately she personally showed us all the rooms and ensured we were comfortable from the very start.
Despite us reaching the homestay almost two hours late, she patiently waited for us and prepared fresh food after we arrived. What made it even more special was that she sat and had lunch with us, making us feel like family rather than guests.
Every morning, she cooked delicious homemade food, full of warmth and care exactly the kind of meals you see in her vlogs, but even better in real life. The food and the constant care from Aunty and Uncle made our stay extremely comfortable and stress-free.
The location of Ngawang Homestay is excellent, making it very easy to travel around Darjeeling and explore nearby places without any difficulty.
When we were leaving for Gangtok, Aunty and Uncle blessed us for a safe journey and gifted us traditional protective clothes with sacred symbols, believing they would keep us safe on our journey ahead to Sikkim. The picture I’ve shared captures that beautiful moment them wishing us well and asking us to travel safely.
Ngawang Homestay is not just a place to stay, it’s a home filled with warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Darjeeling who wants great food, comfort, and an authentic homely experience.

Ngawang Homestay is a gem in Darjeeling. The view of Kanchenjunga from the room is absolutely breathtaking—you wake up to it, and your day is instantly made.
The couple who manage the place are wonderful. Uncle is full of positivity, and Aunty is the cutest and warmest person ever. They go out of their way to help you in every situation and make you feel truly welcome. The cozy wooden rooms add to the charm and make the stay even more comfortable.
Only con: There is no lift, and the homestay is located on a steep uphill road. If you’re traveling with elderly people or senior citizens with health issues, this might be challenging.
Otherwise, I would highly recommend this place. A must-stay in Darjeeling for the views, hospitality, and overall experience.
