Spent a few days at this homestay in with my family and it genuinely felt like home. The rooms were spotless and cozy, and waking up to that view every morning with a cup of coffee was the best part of the trip. No rush, no checklist, just quiet mornings and crisp hill air. What stayed with us most was the hosts. They had this effortless warmth that made us feel less like guests and more like we'd been welcomed into someone's home. Left feeling lighter than when we arrived, and we're already looking forward to going back.

1. Location & Accessibility The property is located quite far from the main area. The approach road is extremely narrow, rough, poorly maintained, and not very clean, making access difficult. 2. Luggage Handling The property is situated considerably below the road level, so guests need to carry their luggage down themselves. 3. Unprofessional Behaviour of the Owner Unfortunately, our experience with the owner lady was very disappointing. We found her behaviour highly unprofessional and unwelcoming. The issue began shortly after our arrival when we ordered Maggi and discovered a dead insect in it. When we informed the daughter-in-law, she took the food away, removed the insect, and returned as if nothing had happened. The concern was initially dismissed until we mentioned that we had photographic evidence. We then reported the matter to our booking agency. Later that evening, during dinner, the elderly owner appeared visibly offended by our complaint and was speaking negatively about us in front of another tourist family. This made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. Instead of handling the situation professionally, her behaviour created a very unpleasant atmosphere. We spent the entire night feeling anxious and simply wanted to leave as soon as possible the next morning. Overall, it was a very stressful and disappointing stay, and unfortunately, one of the worst hospitality experiences we have had.

We had a wonderful stay at Meraki Cottage, Lebong, Darjeeling. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and felt like a home away from home. The balcony offered beautiful views, and the hospitality was exceptional. Aunty and Uncle made us feel like family, and Aunty’s delicious homemade food was a highlight of our stay. Atul Bhai was very cooperative and always ready to help. We also enjoyed trying the local cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and memorable stay in Darjeeling

A fairly new AirBnB which is well maintained, has well appointed rooms and the homeliest service one can hope for. Food is excellent and the views of the sunrise over the distant mountains in a sight for sore eyes. Loved the open spaces at the homestay that allows children to run free and enjoy the clean mountain air. Warmly recommended.

Had an amazing 2 Nights & 3 Days stay at Meraki Cottage, Darjeeling with my family. The experience was truly memorable and peaceful. The behaviour of the staff and management was very polite, friendly, and cooperative throughout our stay. They made us feel comfortable like home and were always ready to help whenever needed. One of the best parts of the stay was the beautiful view from the room. Waking up to the scenic hills, fresh air, and peaceful surroundings made our Darjeeling trip even more special. The hospitality here goes far beyond expectations. During our stay I fell sick, and the lady of the house personally accompanied me to the doctor, which was deeply thoughtful and reassuring. The rooms were cosy and comfortable and on clear days offered a stunning view of the Kanchenjunga range. Our stay in Darjeeling was truly unforgettable, not just because of the beautiful place but because of the incredible warmth and hospitality of the owners. From the moment we arrived, they treated us like family and made us feel completely at home. One incident especially touched us deeply — we were returning in the evening and our cab driver suddenly ditched us near Mall Road. We hadn’t even informed the owner about the situation, but noticing it was getting late, he thoughtfully called to check on us. The moment he heard what had happened, he personally came all the way up from the homestay to pick us up. That level of care and concern is something very rare these days and meant so much to our family. Owner aunty cooked the most delicious home-cooked meals for us every single day. The food was fresh, comforting, and made with so much love that every meal felt like eating at a relative’s home rather than at a stay. This homestay ‘Meraki Cottage’ is much more than just a place to stay — it’s an experience filled with kindness, warmth, and genuine human connection. We are leaving with beautiful memories and immense gratitude. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Darjeeling!

Amazing and beautiful view from all the cottages. Little away from darjeeling crowded location in a small quaint village which gave a peaceful and relaxing feel.
