What can I say about Yakten! It has taken my heart. The people, the air, the pine forest and the amazing digital nomads I met. So, so good. It is not for the faint hearted. Nor if you have problem walking in the mountains and have knee issues. You will invariably be walking up and down. Please add to the economy and don't negotiate too much. There are local realities that one may not be aware of. And local people work very hard. Avoid watage of food and water.

I stayed at Kothey Bari Homestay for one month. The room was basic and was not cleaned properly. The food was below average; however, the location is good and offers excellent mountain views. The nearby pine forest provides a clear view of Kanchenjunga, and the Jhadidhara trek was also very good.

We had the pleasure of staying at Yakten village and know about their culture. I was honestly amazed by the warmth and hospitality we received. The rooms are basic but spacious ,extremely clean and beautiful. The views of mountains you get is breathtaking. The host will serve you local cuisine which are mainly sourced from their farms and prepared with lots of love. You get to indulge in small chit chats with people who are staying around and even make few friends out here.Overall it was such a great experience being a part of this community and we woukd definitely love to visit again.

I recently stayed at this homestay during a holiday, and the experience was disappointing. The service was poor and did not meet even basic expectations. The behavior of the owner’s mother was rude and unprofessional, which made the stay uncomfortable. Hospitality is a key part of any homestay, but unfortunately, this place seriously lacks it. I would not recommend this property unless there are significant improvements in both service and guest handling.

Avoid this place. The owner has no manners and argues with guests instead of helping. Completely ruined our stay. Hospitality is zero here. Shame in the name of tourism .

This is very nice place on the top of the hill close proximity to Paykun Airport. Tranquility of the nature provides mental health to grow with good life. All members of the yatken village are very nice. The hospitality provided by the people is very nice.

Rooms are basic, clean and spacious with high speed Internet 24/7. Homestay is in a village so you will find everything basic even when it comes to service. But villagers are very polite and helpful. Great views, local food, wines and short treks from this village is much recommended experience.
