We stayed at Lepcha Homestay, Rishikhola, in June. The overall scenic beauty around the homestay is truly beautiful, surrounded by nature and a peaceful atmosphere exactly beside rishi river
. The food served was tasty and homely, and the owner's behaviour was warm, friendly, and welcoming.
However, there are a few points that visitors should be aware of before booking. The homestay is not accessible entirely by car. The last stretch of about 1 km has to be covered on foot, including crossing a bamboo bridge. This may be difficult for elderly guests, people with mobility issues, or those carrying heavy luggage.
Another major concern is the electricity situation. Power outages are quite frequent, especially at night. Although an inverter is available, it supports only the lights. Fans do not work during power cuts, which can become uncomfortable during the summer months. We visited in June when the temperature was moderately high, and the lack of fan backup was a significant inconvenience.
Overall, the homestay offers a wonderful natural setting, good food, and hospitable hosts. However, the access route and electricity issues should be considered, particularly if you are travelling with senior citizens or visiting during warmer months.

Rooms are decent, food is better than most other home stays, staff are well behaved and try their best to make your stay comfortable. Although the surroundings are not exactly amazing, but the calmness and serenity are definitely worth a day's stay to rest and catch up with oneself amidist a busy itereniary. 💯 Recommended.
