Pradhan Cottage Homestay

Stayed in this homestay for 2 days, experience was awesome, caretaker was so polite, best place to stay in Darjeeling...

Rooms were good and clean. The host was polite and super friendly and the food served their was tasty yet affordable . The views were terrific. The heater was good and working well.

First of all , we booked two rooms. One with king bed + two single beds and another one a deluxe room with a king size bed. No such amenities were provided. The rooms are small , the beds were queen size and only one single bed was provided. We prepaid the whole amount while booking so , we couldn’t change the stay. There’s geyser. Clean blankets. And the view from this property is amazing. This place is best for couples. Mine was a girls trip. We felt safe there. Recommended if you want a budget friendly trip. The homestay is quite far from chowrasta however you can walk to Glenarys through an uphill road. Remember you’ll have to walk a lot. Better to pre book cabs if you are planning to stay at this property. This property is beautiful but not well maintained. There’s no staff , you’ll have to carry your own luggage. For basic things like plates also, you’ll have to ask every day. They charged 250 per night for a heater that didn’t work at all. Better to ask about hroom heater before you book the rooms.

The best place to stay ..Value for money

The cottage is located a little away from the main road. Since the approach road is narrow, cars cannot enter directly and a short walk is required after a few curves. However, this slight inconvenience is more than compensated by the peace and tranquility the cottage offers, especially compared to the congested areas of Darjeeling city. The owners are extremely kind, helpful, and welcoming, which made the stay even more pleasant. The rooms are well-maintained, clean, and comfortable, and the washrooms are also neat and hygienic. Overall, it was a calm and satisfying stay.

Just need lift yaar, Its a good hotel with amazing view in balcony on 5th floor, if clouds is clear, you can see Kanchanjunga hills

It’s the best of all. Mr. Andrew is very kind and helps a lot I’ll choose Pradhan cottage every time I visit Darjeeling. It’s like home.. Best of all….. highly recommend….

Very nice view and garden Very nice and supportive person Mr Andrew, Owner of home stay. Nice and clean rooms and wash rooms. Kitchen and food available is fine. Just one problem big vehicle don't drop you at the door step, you have to walk down with luggage around 300 mtrs.

If you want to stay at cottage at night and do nothing then choose this homestay because once you reach this homestay then you have to walk 20min upwards to get a transport.

I have visited many places and stayed in many homestay but this experience was a nightmare for me and my family. Location was way down the hill but more importantly no mode of communication. You will get a cab only after you walk 15 minutes up the hill, which was terrible. There were no food available at the homestay as we were informed that the owners relative was getting married and there was no one to prepare food. Even we had to do our dishes. We had to bring food from outside and by the time we had it, it was cold as they didn’t even provide a microwave. Even if you order by Zomato, you have to use a different address where the delivery guy will come and deliver and make sure you order atleast 90 minutes before you intend to eat. They didn’t let us use even the Kitchen. We brought breakfast stuff to prepare ourselves but the owner didn’t even take the effort to help us and open the kitchen. The drawing room had a broken window and the wind was gushing inside making it difficult for us to stay in that room. One of our room was stinking and we had to use perfumes every now and then. We also went with our pet, initially he didn’t allow us with the pet even though we texted him that we are coming with a pet. Even he has few pet dogs but poor soul were kept outside in this chilling cold weather and every night two dogs always knocked the door trying to come in. When we tried to confront the owner he was rude and started to yell. He might have had some personal commitments but he should not have taken the booking in that case or may have arranged for someone who can provide us atleast the basic services.Overall the experience was terrible. We won’t recommend this place to anyone and even would request MMT to remove this place because next time I wont book any hotels and homestays based on MMT ratings as we really had a tough time. We would have chosen a different place but since we paid the entire amount before hand and the owner was not willing to refund the amount we had to stay in this property and experience the some worst days of our life.
