Maiti Ghar Home Stay

I stayed here for 1 night and had a great time with my family. The rooms and decor is on point and better than most home-stays in the area. Food was good and their dining area has a lovely view of the mountains. The owner was also very nice and took time to meet us at the property. Would definitely recommend friends and family for a visit to this homestay for an amazing experience!!

I had an amazing experience in this homestay. It's an escape to serenity. I thoroughly enjoyed the amazing view of Kanchanjangha and home made food. It's a homestay in true sense. The couple hosts are so amazing that I would recommend this place to everyone who want to enjoy their time alone within the nature. I will comeback again for sure.

One of the best experiences we ever had, was staying at ‘Maiti Ghar Home Stay’ at Lulagaon Khasmahal, Kalimpong.... just 23 KM from Kalimpong City. We checked in on 4th Nov and checked out on 7th Nov .... All three days we got the most majestic view of Kanchenjunga range (From Left to Right- Kumbhakarna, Kokthanng, Rathong, Kabru, Yalungkang, Kanchenjunga, Pandim, Simvo)…right from our beds, our room windows, the open balconies. The sunrise on the Kanchenjunga is sure to mesmerize. At night, the entire city of Kalimpong would glitter before eyes … like a ‘heavenly necklace’ made of million gems, put on by the mighty Himalayas. The rooms are well equipped with all modern amenities, which a quality hotel would provide. We were served with well-balanced hot breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, dinner…all local grown organic produce. Quality Darjeeling 2nd Flush Tea was served complementary …thanks to our host Mr. Rai, who is also a seasoned ‘Tea-Expert'. We tried ‘Thumba’ (Local Hot Beer) brewed locally in the village. We visited Kalimpong, Dello, Lava & Lolegaon from ‘Maiti Ghar’, which was just an hour’s travel from the property. We have also spent a day enjoying ‘Barbeque’ on Ralli River basin. All travel arrangements were organized by our host at the most competitive rates. The home stay is a ‘Pet Friendly’ property in true sense…they have not only arranged dry and hot meals on a lovely ‘Pet Bowl’ for our 3.5-year Golden Retriever, but also have gladly replaced the bed linens when being stained by some naughty paws…as pet parents, we were truly indebted by their gesture. Strongly recommend this property to those who would appreciate lush green, tranquil, divine stay and a warm welcome from ‘Super hospitable’ hosts.
