Tucked away from the noise of the main roads, this cozy haven offers the rare kind of calm that makes you immediately slow your pace, kick off your shoes, and take a deep, refreshing breath. ​If you are looking for a soul-soothing getaway to recharge, read, and reset, Zimba Cottage Retreat is an absolute gem.

Such a calming and homely stay! The property is beautifully maintained and absolutely perfect for a staycation. Surrounded by nature, you’ll find so many friendly dogs, cats, and birds all around the property—it truly adds to the charm. There’s also an option to order food in-house, and the food was absolutely delicious. The hospitality was top-notch. Neo and family were incredibly helpful and polite, and they happily catered to all our requests, making us feel truly comfortable and cared for. It’s a well-equipped, modern stay that still feels wonderfully close to nature. And if you’re lucky, you can even catch a view of Kanchenjunga from the property! It genuinely felt like home. We originally booked Zimba Retreat for just one night, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay to two nights !!! The property is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and has the most calming vibe. It’s tucked away from the hustle of the main market (just a 7–10 minute drive away), which is exactly what we were looking for. The views are stunning, and it truly feels like a hidden gem. A huge thank you to Neo, the owner, who went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. His family lives on the property, and their hospitality made us feel completely at home. A special mention to Lhamu Aunty, who cooked dinner for us on both nights. The food was incredible, the portions were generous, and she even went out of her way to prepare halal meat for us, which we really appreciated. The host family is genuinely so humble and friendly. The house is beautifully designed and incredibly well-equipped. It has a fully functional kitchen with cookware, dinnerware, a gas stove, basic cooking essentials and water filter.. the house is well equipped with 5g wifi, geysers in all the bathrooms, and an inverter, so power cuts were never an issue. The living room also has a TV with a home theatre system, a PlayStation, and super comfortable sofas, making it a great place to unwind. The beds in the rooms are very comfortable, master bedroom has a fireplace, an attached balcony, and a bathtub, while the second bedroom has two single beds. There are three spacious bathrooms (two attached and one common), extra beds are available if needed, and there’s a lovely terrace connected to the house. They can also arrange a barbecue on request. They also have a few beautiful one bedroom units on the other side of the same property for 2–3 people with a private bathroom and a spacious kitchen and dining area, which looked equally lovely. There’s parking on the property, adorable pet cats and dogs, and every corner of the place feels warm and thoughtfully designed.. it truly feels like a home away from home. Considering everything you get, the pricing is incredibly reasonable. This was easily a 100/10 stay, and we’ve already decided that every time we visit Kalimpong, Zimba Retreat will be our first choice. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay with exceptional hospitality, amazing home-cooked food, and all the comforts of home, this place is an absolute treasure!!!

Recently I visited Kalimpong for rest and recuperation with my family. Through google I came across a homestay named Zimba Cottage Retreat, Kalimpong where I chose the entire Villa and had an amazing stay. The property is beautifully maintained, surrounded by lush greenery, and offers breathtaking views that make it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The rooms in the villa were clean, cozy, and well-equipped with all the essentials. The owner was exceptionally warm, courteous, and always ready to help, making us feel right at home throughout our stay. The food was fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care, adding to the overall experience. What truly sets this place apart is its peaceful atmosphere and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re looking for a quiet getaway or a base to explore Kalimpong, Zimba Cottage Retreat is an excellent choice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region. Looking forward to coming back again!
