Very beautiful property with different types of flowering plants and trees 🏡. There's a friendly but injured local dog to welcome you 🐶. You can get sight of wild animals as well depending on your luck 🐆🦌. Rooms are very spacious , elegant with old aged furniture 🛏. A fireplace was present in our room 🔥. Food was very delicious including chicken curry , fried rice and chilli paneer 🍛. The tea was also very soothing ☕️.
Recently I visited there. One of the best experiences in my life. This place has the best view from the balcony and in the garden too. There are a lot of plants and some of them have unique medicinal properties. Add-ons are melodious vocals of Surendraji and flutes of Mohanji. Others like Pravinji, Sayarji, Ganeshda helped me a lot. During the stay Ganeshda took my father on bike to banks, bazar for our shopping. Sayarji arranged a car for us for sight seeing.Bit officer Mr Vikash Chhetriji is an warm hearted person. He has 2 more bungalows in Lepchajagat and Mirik. Waiting for the next trip here again.
Beutiful place for stay. Try it once.
Nice place
Staff informed that few guests stayed at the hotel noticed cheetah in the property surroundings recently. So there is an electric fence arranged a month back in the hotel to prevent cheetah from entering the property. Be cautious when you visit the place with kids. Accidentally they may touch the fence while playing. The electricity gets switched automatically after the sunsets and staff cannot operate manually.
We have booked 2 days stay but after listening to the above we checked out after 1 day keeping in mind our children safety.
Property staff did not give any refund for the unutilised day and not even bothered to ask why we checked out keeping the room unutilized.
What ever food you order they charge extra. They did not even provided complimentary water bottles.
Not recommended for family with kids
Appreciation post 🌿
Takdah Club Bungalow, Darjeeling (Takdah), is truly a beautiful place nestled among valleys.
Originally built by the British government in 1911 for army officers, it has now been beautifully restored and opened for tourists by the Government of West Bengal.
This charming colonial structure comes with a large garden and breathtaking mountain views. It’s perfect for solace, quiet reading, and complete rest.
I would highly recommend everyone to visit if you love this kind of peaceful, old-world ambience.
Booking can be done through the WBFDC website.
Romantic
A place of peace with a beautiful views
The humongous rooms and bathrooms are epicc
Infrastructural facility is very poor. Wi-fi and television is not working. Purified water system also not working at all.

Takdah Club Bungalow – A Peaceful Vintage Getaway
Set amidst serene pine-covered hills, Takdah Club Bungalow is a charming colonial-era retreat with a wide, sprawling lawn (do watch out for leeches during the monsoon). The heritage architecture lends the place a nostalgic, vintage feel. We stayed in the Deluxe Room beside Anderson Corner—clean, spacious, and comfortable. The food is homely and reasonably priced, though not very diverse—and note, meals and breakfast are not included in the room tariff. The long front verandah is perfect for enjoying the views. Ample parking is available, and the Takdah Orchid Garden is just a short stroll away. WiFi is provided, though signal strength can vary. Ideal for those looking to unplug and unwind in a quiet, old-world setting.
I stayed here from 11 th to 13th April 2025 in a Deluxe room. There are four categories of room - Standard, Deluxe, Super Deluxe and Premium. The price ranges from 2000/- + 12% GST to 4000/- + 12% GST.All the room sizes are big.The attached washrooms are also big. But the cot provided is queen sized and it is difficult to adjust for husband wife and a child. Extra bed is provided with additional charge of 300/-.The room wall and ceiling are of wooden finish and there is a non functional fire place also.Sufficient lights are provided in the room but due to frequent power cuts many a time only two lights glow - one in the room and the other in the washroom. There is an inverter but no generator. The staff are very cordial. The food has to be ordered in advance and are prepared according to the boarders choice but much variety is not available. The area of the club house is huge with a lawn in front and a garden. It is a very quiet place and the only sound that can be heard is the chirping of the birds. The mist sometimes engulfs the bungalow and after a while it clears The word Takdah means mist and the bungalow symbolises that.I asked for the kit that is provided by WBFDC but the staff said that it is not available here which surprised me because in different reviews there is a clear mention of kit being provided in jute bags. There is sufficient space for car parking inside the premises. The bungalow is at a distance of one km from the Takdah bazar and so is away from the hustle and bustle of the town.If one wishes to enjoy a quiet vacation then this is the place.
Bungalow is beautiful 😍 it's too good to stay. Highly recommended place. But not happy with food. Quantity is more but no taste...
No stomach trouble will occur...that's a plus point. But cook need to be replaced. Another suggestion more maintenance is required for garden and ground area. Orchid garden is just opposite side of the road.
The bungalow was made in 1911,and the artistry was very much visible in the bungalow. It consists of 5 jumbo size rooms and huge washrooms. There is a huge hall for dinner . Overall the service , ambience was very good. Only one issue with us was one could hear a lot of unusual sounds at night which can distract someone from sleeping ,but otherwise it was ok.
We didn't stay there but visited there from Takdah glass house villa 2 K.M. away by walk.
The place was tranquil, full of trees. Orchid centre is 400 mtr. away. Can be seen from Takdah club. We would definitely want to stay atleast 1 night here in the near future. It runs by WBFDC.
