Munglan homestay

Stayed at Munglan homestay for 3 nights in July month. It is located around 2-3 kms downhill from Dali monestry junction. We booked the family room and it offered stunning views of the neweby mountains both day and night. The room is very spacious with 4 beds and a dining table, additionally the open area outside the room is a paradise for nature lovers. Mr. Chandan was always attentive to our needs and they provided a variety of Nepali style home cooked meals and some complementary items too. We loved the food and it also came at a reasonable price. Mr Chandan also recommended to visit Sidrapong hydel power station which is further downhill (~5 kms) which was Asia's first hydel power plant and still operational. The orange valley tea garden is just adjacent to the homestay while the rock garden is around 2 kms. We walked both uphill and downhill, but it you're not fit and have mobility issues, I would recommend hiring a taxi as the roads are quite steep. We also hired a taxi on one day and saw the nearby touristy attractions of Darjeeling such as HMI, Zoo, Mall road etc. Overall, the stay was worth remembering in every aspect and it is perfect for those who are looking for a little quietness but want to stay close to Darjeeling. Mr. Chandan offers pickup and drop to and from Dali, at a reasonable price if he's available.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Munglan Homestay was one of the best parts of our Darjeeling trip. The view alone makes the stay worth it—you can never get enough of waking up to the mountains. At night, the clouds literally drifted in through the windows, creating an unforgettable experience that truly did justice to travelling all the way here. It's a little offbeat and away from the main town, but that's exactly what makes it special. If you're looking for peace, quiet, and a break from the crowds, this is the perfect place. The neighbourhood is calm, safe, and welcoming. The hosts are incredibly generous, kind, and always ready to help with anything you need, making you feel right at home. Manju aunty is so warm and sweet. The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and prepared with care. On top of that, the stay itself is very affordable, offering amazing value for money. I would highly recommend Munglan Homestay to anyone visiting Darjeeling. If you want breathtaking views, warm hospitality, and a peaceful mountain stay, this is the place to book! 🌿🏔️

The property is very good and also behaviour of staffs are also very friendly

If your idea of a relaxing vacation involves communicating entirely through frantic hand gestures and text messages after sunset, this is the perfect place for you. Otherwise, run... The house looks nice enough, but it comes with a ridiculous, unwritten rule: no talking after 7:00PM.. We were just hanging out and catching up after a long day of exploring, speaking at a completely normal conversational volume, when the nightmare started.. Because we weren't entirely silent, the owner literally called us multiple times throughout the evening to complain about the "noise".... Every time our phones rang, it was the host monitoring us and telling us to stop talking.. It felt incredibly invasive and creepy like we were being watched and managed by a strict boarding school warden.. You can’t even laugh at a meme without feeling like you're breaking federal law. . It completely ruined the evening vibe... You can't relax, you can't laugh and you certainly can't have a normal vacation.. Save yourself the awkwardness and book a place where you're actually allowed to speak after dark.. Zero stars if I could.

I loved the location, very beautiful and peaceful and nature-side and mostly I liked Chandan the owner he was so kind and friendly and helped us with everything and gave us tasty breakfast everyday and laundry. Thank you Chandan

we went there during december, great hospitality best rooms honestly with cheaper prices compared to other hotels as this hotel looks really great the pics here may not suffice with what im saying here but ill post the pics as well but for better clarity but it was really great the owner and his wife are very nice and they cook so well , my homesickness left the chat when i had my dinner there during my 7 day trip i didnt get to eat food which tasted good and made me feel like im at home at the same time ,and no matter how much i write about this place it still wont be enough to describe my love for it , thanks to them for giving me one of the greatest memories of my life

Excellent home stay, with perfect home made authentic Darjeeling recipe and the owner Mr. Chandan Daju a hardworking man with always smiling face just like Kanchenjangha view is just awesome 😎

Most beautiful homestay...ever spent...clear view of kanchanjunga from room or balcony...homely hospitality is just mind-blowing ..The owner Chandanji and hiswife are amazing personality...waiting for the next trip..Food quality was beyond our expectations...my 5years baby spent two days with healthy food and warm caring.

I stayed with my family in April 2025 and we had a perfect time! The room was clean and offered nice views, local host family was super kind and helpful. The meal they prepared was perfect, they also helped us with transport to Darjeeling and took us around. I can only recommend Munglan Homestay!

words are less for this homestay might sound too much or sponsored but honestly, i was baffled with the views. you can watch the sunrise at the private terrace cum balcony with your loved ones. the hospitality is top notch. Mr Chandan helped us throughout. they serve yummy homemade food and are always at your service. the location is a bit off beat making it perfect for small getaways away from the hustle. i went there with my best friends and i miss this homestay the most from my entire trip. there are less options for the room since it is a homestay but all of them were very well maintained. the people in that area are also very friendly and they also have very cute and friendly dogs in that area. overall, a must visit place. it is surrounded by the beautiful tea garden with rock gardens and waterfalls near it. i will always cherish this place!❤️❤️
