There are a few things in life that simply cannot be described in words, and our experience here is definitely one of them. Of course, the property itself is surrounded by the serene beauty of nature. Waking up to the sounds of birds, the gentle flow of water, and the peaceful surroundings was truly beautiful. But what made our stay genuinely special was not just the property—it was the warmth of the people who welcomed us. And Ritu Aunty… what can I say about her? ❤️ She took care of us like we were her own children. The care, warmth and genuine concern she showed us made us feel so comfortable and at home. But beyond that, I absolutely loved the conversations we had with her. The experiences she shared, her stories, and the little insights she gave us from her journey through life made those chats so memorable. Some places you visit, and some places you carry with you. This is definitely one of those places. We came for the beauty of nature, but we left carrying the warmth of the people. ❤️ Aunty made sure that we were always warm in the cold weather, constantly checking that we were comfortable and making sure we were served hot, comforting meals. And the thukpa… I honestly don't think I will ever be able to eat thukpa anywhere else without comparing it to yours. ❤️ It tasted like home. In fact, this place now feels like my mumma’s home—a place filled with warmth, love and comfort. I will forever hope, wish and look forward to meeting you again. And Tshering… what a sweet girl she is! ❤️ So loving, caring and thoughtful. And the tea—just WOW! ☕ The food you prepared for us was absolutely wonderful. I loved how you always made sure we were accompanied and never felt alone. Listening to your school stories and spending time with you made our stay even more special. And the hike with you was simply wonderful! Thank you so much for everything you did for us. We are forever grateful to you. And Rigyal, Bhaiya and I have treasured the map you drew for us. ❤️ We are definitely going to follow it and explore the route you marked for us the next time we come. It is such a thoughtful little memory that we will carry with us. And Sir, Tshering’s dad… ❤️ You made sure that our journey and all our exploring were always safe and comfortable. You even left home early in the morning to look for a cab, just to make sure we reached the airport on time and that our journey back home was comfortable. That gesture meant so much to us. You also made sure that our travel around the city was easy by patiently explaining how to ride the scooty through the streets of Darjeeling. These may seem like small things, but they are exactly the kind of gestures that stay with you. Thank you for looking out for us and making sure we were safe every step of the way. I really don't know how to put into words what all of you have given us. We came as guests, but we left feeling like family. The beauty of the place may have brought us here, but it is the love, kindness and warmth of all of you that will bring us back. I am honestly not a review person, but places and people like you deserve not just 5 stars, or even 100 stars… you deserve every single star shining in the sky. ⭐❤️ Thank you for making our stay so much more than just a stay. You gave us memories, conversations, laughter, comfort, and most importantly, a feeling of home that we will treasure for a very long time. Until we meet again… with so much love and gratitude. ❤️

It was a great stay. Ideal for staycations and gateaways from cities. The hosts were really great! Do have food and tea at their place, highly recommend. Views from the balcony were breathtaking. They have two cute doggos, which were very friendly. Rooms were very cosy with scenic views. Living room was very beautiful, great interior. Overall it was a great stay. Would rate, if i could 10/5.

Beautiful home filled with lovely family who will treat you like a family member only, we stayed for 8 days and today's our last day and we are feeling bad to leave this place, we never missed our family during the stay , home cooked food was really fresh and tasty. Definitely Going to visit Darjeeling again and going to stay here only.

Perfect. Might have to write an essay on why this is such a good stay. But I'll summarise it like this: You will be taken care of, like your mother would on the first day you are back home for winter break. I was surprised to see 5 starred reviews left by literally all of whom have stayed here. But you will quickly realize why, once you stay here. I had all the facilities I needed. And if you are preparing for a trek, the small uphill hike to the main road from the house is great practice. Easily the highlight of my darjeeling trip. Rigyal, I hope you crack UPSC bro. Need more people like you in power. Tshering, I wish I had a little bro like you.(But one that does not roast me as much as you🤣). Travellers look out for this one, because she cooks mind blowing food. Can listen forever to Uncle's military stories and Aunty talking about old times. I really hope we were not too much of a nuisance. Please do let me know if you guys ever visit Kerala.

Our recent stay at this homestay in Darjeeling was an absolute delight. The place truly feels like a piece of heaven surrounded by nature’s beauty. The hosts were exceptionally polite, warm, and attentive, making our experience all the more memorable. The ambience was peaceful, the food was delicious and homely, and the presence of their friendly dogs added a special charm to our stay. Everything — from hospitality to surroundings — was simply mesmerizing. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and heartwarming getaway in Darjeeling.

Never got such an amazing stay ever, the views from the stay are amazingly beautiful, I would love to recommend all to visit the stay if you are travelling to Darjeeling. More than that, I would like to highlight how amazing people the owner family is, they took care of us like their own family members, a lifetime memorable experience we had during our last Darjeeling trip.

Just perfect. The family treated us in the best and kindest way possible, as if we were from their own family. Being a bit far from the car street and the center of Darjeeling, the position is perfect to really experience a calmer, healthier and more natural mountain view environment. The rooms directly face the magnificent forest and the surrounding hills. Be patient, there is a 10 mins downhill walking to reach the house but it's worth it. The tibetan looking house with its stunning design and tibetan carpets is just perfect and it will feel as being in your own home. Everything is perfectly clean, not a tear of dust, bathroom included. The family is just the perfect host: they were kind and interested in talking with us, they gave us many valuable advices about the territory, they cooked awesome food for us, hand-made dumplings and many other tibetan dishes and they tried to teach our unskilled hands to make momos. Thank you again!

One of the best homestays i have stayed at. The service is impeccable. Very loving family and calming ambience. The homemade tibetan food is love.. and again the family, would definitelt visit them again. Book this place for a peaceful stay. The view is great. However, one has to hike a little for the great view and service.

Staying at Norbu Gakyil Homestay was a delightful experience. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The rooms were cozy, clean, and offered stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The home-cooked meals were a highlight—authentic, delicious, and prepared with care. Their pets were fun to play with and I will cherish this experience for a very long time. It's a perfect place for anyone looking for a quiet retreat with a touch of local culture. Highly recommended!!
